EIST and C1E is enabled to lower down your cpu speed when load is not high:)
Disable those if you want to have 3ghz all the time

Hello,

I have an aging Core 2 Quad Q8300, i am planning to upgrade my computer ram, but i can't seems to find any compatible DDR3 ram in the market.

The ram that is currently installed on the machine is a 10600U. Do you guys have any idea where can i get 2 piece of 4GB each for this ram?

Thanks.

If you don't plan to oc,any ram will do
Just grab yourself two sticks of 4GB DDR 3 1600mhz ram and sell off your balance ram or keep it as spare
For LGA775,best stick to DDR2 unless you have the moolah to splurge for Rampage Extreme else don't bother

Anyone here that owns an ASUS P5G41T-M LX motherboard? I am having difficulty in overclocking a Q8200(R0, core voltage below 1.2V during peak) as the current clock speed is still bottlenecking the system performance based on these specs:
- Generic 550W PSU
- HD7750(stock)
- 4GB DDR3 RAM at 667MHz bandwidth, single channel

I've enabled the overclocking profile of 15%, so the max clock speed is at 2.60GHz+. As this mobo doesn't display the VCore values in the BIOS, there were only +50mV, +100mV and +150mV. Image of the BIOS is too huge, so click on the spoiler to view it.
» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

I tried changing VCore to +150mV while increasing the bus speed but the system wouldn't boot so I had to revert the changes.

I've seen others OCing theirs to beyond 3.0GHz but what I want is just 2.8GHz max to be on the safe side.

Anyone can guide me on achieving the desired result?

Just wondering is it the same to do a slight overclocking using software like EPU-6 engine for ASUS motherboard by adjusting the settings in Turbo mode.

I am running on E8400 and ASUS P5Q mobo

Just pick up OC
At the very least should do 3.6ghz as LGA775 platform need to run minimum of 1:1 Ram speed to FSB Ratio
4ghz is not hard but you need to have ram capable of at least running 446mhz or DDR 2 892

Any guide for intel 775 overclocking? I tried to browse through some of the links guide but some of it are broken links.

What is the advisable temperature for a pc that runs almost 24/7 with OC?

My C2D E7500 hit 3.71GHz with MSI G41M-P43 Combo.
Idle temp around 45C using stock heatsink and stock voltage.
Very proud of my C2D. smile.gif
