I don't actually see releasing Aquilani as a mistake. I see buying him as a bigger mistake because he made no contribution as he was either sick, injured, or too fragile. 20 million down the drain.

Liv has been getting away from several potential penalty in the past few games even this game, especially our defenders nowadays like to holds on opponent shirt during set-piece and corner kick time. 

Even it ended up a draw, there still lot of worry on the performance side.

some of u blame the lack of creativity but i'd blame it on the narrow play n absence of natural width to widen the play and opening up spaces and also minimal running behind defenders.. esp considering we had most of the possession

1st goal u dont blame torres not markin bbtov well?

Reds midfielder feels skipper deserves to win Premier League

Joe Cole has admitted that Liverpool team-mate Steven Gerrard deserves to win a Premier League medal and will strive to make the dream a reality.

The new Reds midfielder arrived at Anfield from Chelsea with a glittering collection of honours, including three title medals, something Gerrard has never won.

The England and Liverpool skipper does have a Champions League medal to his name however, which Cole did not manage to achieve with the Blues.

Gerrard has often stated his burning desire to win the title, which would complete the set for a player who has won every other major honour English football has to offer, and Cole is desperate to help get him what he wants.

"He's a tremendous player. I've known Steven since I was 17 or 18 and I obviously trained and played with him for England for 10 years so I know what he's all about," he said

"But when you see him in a Liverpool shirt he's even better. A player like him deserves to win the championship.
Fantastic player

"I know that's what he wants over the next four to five years at the club.

"He's a fantastic player and if he plays well the team plays well and it's up to me now to assist him and try to help the club move on."

Cole has endured a difficult start to his career at Anfield, but is likely to return to the starting line-up to face Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday after serving a three-game ban.

Liverpool have not been in inspired form under new boss Roy Hodgson so far, but the 28-year-old insisted the team would come good once settled.

"All the lads here have got belief in what the manager wants us to do and the new signings have looked good," he added.

"It's a rebuild for us but we're doing all right, and we just need to keep improving slowly and gradually."
