RH is not a world class manager. whether his stint at Liverpool will change that, i am not sure. I hope so...but his career so far doesnt show anything spectacular.
but the moment Rafa was sacked and we were panicky about Gerrard and Torres, he was available and he steadied the ship. Whether he is the manager to transform our performances on the pitch, its remains to be seen. Maybe the fans will up their tempo to get the Yanks out and get rid of our debts... |

long passing, no penetration, not cutting edge...
Torres playing like mad man chasing hopeless ball instead of a predator waiting for the kill I am having doubts if RH can handle Liverpool.. |

from a midfield of Alonso, Mascherano, Gerrard
we are now relying on Poulsen and Lucas....these 2 fellas wont even get into Spurs or any decent team with ambition... this club needs help.... |

1-0 WBA at home.....but the 3 points is so crucial to us that it might cover the apparent shortcoming of this team...
how did Sunderland hold City 0-0? |

i am not sure if its the morale?
i mean these guys are professional......we are now in the 3rd game of the league and 5th competitive game of the season.... surely, these guys should be on fire, playing their hearts out.... Without getting into a tiring debate of tactics, i thought it was a very very average performance yesterday. Very very disappointing. I am hoping Cole will turn out to be the creative fulcrum. Can we rely on him being consistent then? |

QUOTE(Max_07s @ Aug 30 2010, 10:17 AM) pro or not, they still are human, the winning metality is really we need now to get winning momentum. i cant see high urgency in all players last night except 2 or 3 players. i agree....they are still human....but surely......this is the famous red jersey they're donning...and we fans can expect more? we cant rely cole only, we need all players to be consistent. this is what chelsea and man utd players better than us. they have winning metality, confident and consistent. 1 lose is a blip, but most importance is how we bounce back after we lose. but its was a shockingly poor display......only a world class strike spared us the blushes... so...where were the rest of the 6-7 players? what more urgency do they need? we might not have Chelsea + MU stars but surely, this is WBA we're talking about......coming from back of a 3-0 spanking by our major rival (for 4th place), at home against WBA..and we still need more urgency? sorry mate, find it hard to swallow... Our midfield is just terrible...nobody worth watching.....Titles are always won with a superb midfielder or midfield paring...Lampard, Keane, Viera, Scholes, even our Molby and Whelan (very under-rated players) anchored Liverpool's midfield to glorious years... I am not having a personal vendetta against Lucas....other players looked terrible too....but after 3 seasons, i am not convinced Lucas is up for it. and Poulsen looked average...very frighteningly average... Cant help wondering if Roy can steal Arteta over from Goodison..or maybe Alonso will be a surplus and come back in January....nice dreaming for a Monday....no? 1. i never thought i'll see a more unimaginative midfield playing for Liverpool than Lucas. Then came Poulsen
2. I wont want to watch another match for Liverpool as long as those 2 man our midfield...I am embarass!!!!!! darn it...few millions on youth development and we cant have a better midfielder than thhose 2? a club this tradition and magnitude and we cant have a better midfielder!!! yeah...surely..stars like Gerrard and torres were not playing well today, but can you blame them.....? relying on all those sideway passing, slow running to spring this Liverpool team to live... i wont say sack Roy yet...but for goodness sake, please please do not play those 2 again together! tired of giving the tactics and review....one sentence...Liverpool played without imagination and movement ....and this is not first time....
the pattern is negatively same like previous match, except that Torres strike saved us the last time, and Reina's magic saved our blushes this time... very worrying......very worrying..... |

if we played with loads of chances and only managed a draw....its different....
St Andrews or not....the problem was with Liverpool....no chances and no creativity.... |

October 6th, change the owners........i am not saying everything is G&Hs' fault...but just change the owner, and hopefully, so life will flow back to the whole club......
and then ship Poulsen and Lucas out, or never play them together again..... |

I agree its not fair to call for RH's head for now...
but the last few games is not doing RH any favour. People talk about his better man management qualities as compared to RB...fine....but i dont see this being translated directly into the field... and the tactics..?? just too similiar to Fulham... I am trying to be fair and see how the return of Cole, settling of Raul and Konchesky will help the team...if nothing happens by then, then we're in deep trouble... or course, October 6th and avoiding a spanking by MU are more important perhaps for now... QUOTE(koolspyda @ Sep 13 2010, 12:22 PM) wait, i distinctively remember many forumers who said RH is better manager (in the sense where fulhamĀ style more attacking) than our last manager (boring, tipid, play safe, uses Lucas). it seems contradictory. i voted a yes for Roy on the basis that he was all we can afford and he is the only decent manager that can steady the ship, with all the rumours about Torres and Gerrard leaving...not about digging old debates but RH (for now) seem quite clueless on how to manage a bigger team. granted we loss monster march. well, i can only grab the nearest popcorn & sit it out he did just that and sprang a surprise by bringing Cole in.... Before the season started, was expecting realistically CL spot...and good cup run... Leaving the results and table position aside, the lack of chances/adventure/creativity is just appalling... we're still passing and moving...but sideway and backwards... Added on September 13, 2010, 2:51 pm QUOTE(koolspyda @ Sep 13 2010, 01:03 PM) yup my comment was served as a reality check too. October 6th..keep the faith....almost.... we really cant be even fighting for mid table places the rate we are going. the biggest issues is Liverpool need to relook at themselves starting at the top. I have resigned that we aren't going to make headways as long as the comedy duo are there up there. i'm just sad that the longer we drag the ownership, we see more exodus or top players. (& replaced with fringe, declining aging players) This post has been edited by nando: Sep 13 2010, 02:51 PM |

To me, its so bad now that i cant see how the footballing-related elements (coach, players, signings) can turn the corner...
Even if Torres and Gerrard return to thunderous form...and Joe Cole fulfills his potential, something just doesnt look right with our football As i mentioned in previous posts, changing the owners will spark a new life in this club.... Its bewildering....We're talking about a squad with Johnson, Agger, Babel, and many other internationals...Skrtle was in every game for his country during the World Cup ! i know...these are not Ashely Coles and Lucas is not Eissen but surely, we can play better football? I think majority of the Kop have lower their expectations....but i dont think they'll ever accept dry, uninventive and cautious football every week....
