Yea, this is the most common mistake or misconcept by alot of female out there where they think that taking weight can make them look muscular like those body builder. They only opt for cardio...hmm....sometime i told few of my female friends that they need to do weight training to lose fat, they just gave me the  hmm.gif  blink.gif look and after few months, they come telling me they are still not losing weight.  mad.gif

i remember watching victoria fashion show (i forgot which year but the performance artist is black eyed pea) and they showed the behind the scene where the new candidate for victoria's new angel work out in the gym. Some of them even cried because it was too hard and i remember the trainer shouted at them saying something like "do you think it is easy to get such body to walk on the runway?"...girls should watch that so that they know it is not as easy as ABC to get such tonned body... smile.gif

Playseeker, want to ask you something. I know carrying weights is fine but not too crazy, like heavy heavy ones right? As long as I maintain my diet, my arms would eventually lose the fat, and more muscle right. My friend told me that its alright for girls to carry weights as it won't get bigger and bigger because they lack in the testosterone, which men have. Can you clarify this for me? drool.gif

what you mean by heavy weight though? As far as I know, if you take something like 70% of your lifting limits, a lot of reps in one set, you wont be able to bulk but you are able tone up your body. And yea, it is definately alright for girls to carry weights, don't worry..please proceed with weight training smile.gif

Do correct me if i have any mis-info here. I just share what I know smile.gif

My mom is worried that if I take weights, I will grow short.. sad.gif I was talking about weightlifting ones....with the weights on each side of the poles which people tend to do with bench press. Somehow, they seem very heavy to even attempt so I substitute them with vipers.

I think weightlifting don't make you short, just that people who are shorter can excel better in weightlifting.. Hmm my observation in olympic lifting most of them are shorter

I'm saying lifting at 60 to 70% of your lifting weight, so if those bars are more than your limit, then you go for ligther weight. It doesnt mean that without taking the bar that is not weight training. Don't go follow those others. You should have your own training program though smile.gif. You learn and get more info so that you know what to do for your own training program.

So Almond94, you don't need to worry about getting big as mentioned by darklight, diet dictates how bulked up you are.

Please don't be afraid to do weight training now smile.gif

yes, why not? Your "blink" is too shock & hard to believe to be true or too good to be true?
LoL!

There is this specific scale that used to measure before and after.

Agreed. Actually more about cal in cal out. If objective is for fat loss (I'm not talking about weight loss), cal deficit and some intense cardio will do the job pretty well.

Sorry to ask what sort of specific scale? Assuming the variants are BF & Lean Mass, as far as I know, no specific scale can just measure lean mass. Normally it checks the BF, then by reverse calculation to check mass increment. Please enlighten, thanks.

Both are good! smile.gif Depends your objective and your background. HIIT is fantastic for fat loss but you must have certain fitness in order to follow exactly what a trainer does. If you were to follow the 2nd vid, I would suggest you start off with 1:2, means 1 min all out sprint and 2 mins slow jog/walk. Don't follow blindly.. not everyone can take such high intensity training. Build a stronger foundation first smile.gif Cheers and all the best!

Afternoon all.

How's life.

Near a month now I started own diet.
Stopped buying from stalls.

I cooked myself.
Brown rice, garlic, onions, veggies etc.
Boiled eggs; only the white egg...threw away the yolk.

Any of you guys ate instant noodles?
Maggie, Mamee etc.

I know it's not recommend,
But sometimes...cravings tongue.gif

PS: Maggie Asam Laksa drool.gif drool.gif

Drop that craving then.. once a while sure no problem..

Instant noodles = pure useless calories with little or almost no nutritious value..

No such thing. No one even on GH can build such amount of muscle mass so fast.
