Ah..okay okay... But what if i don't want to follow the diet? I mean what can i do with my current diet? Sorry, i'm not trying to be rude but i feel the scarsdale diet is a short term plan and i'm trying to have a long term diet which i can practice everyday, anywhere.
*
Nah you are not being rude, but its true the scarsdale diet is a short term thing but you won't go back to your old size again if you maintain it nicely.

Just saying, I am just a student so I am not an expert in what is good or bad for you. brows.gif Your morning diet is good except why potato?? I the oatmeal tasted bad, you should just stick with the classic Quaker and add some kiwi or strawberries. When it comes to fruits, try avoiding the ones with a lot of sugar, pear and apple, or orange are good choices (if you want, try banana, they tend to make you stuff.) I cannot say much about your dinner except maybe you should try and avoid the rice sweat.gif

You should have one day where you take a break and eat whatever (of course, don't eat the ones with a lot of lemak or minyak). Drink wise is good, I heard that green tea is very good since it cleans out your system from all the fatty food you eat.

The part which you said cardio around 5 min, try push it up to 10 minute since that's when you can feel your body heating up. I am not too sure how long you have been exercising but if this is just the start, you don't have to worry too much as long as you maintain. I was surprised to see why my weight went up when in fact it was because of the muscle I gain. It slowly went down. Each day, you should try at least drink 3 liter, 4 liter would be perfect (I find it hard to achieve even 2 liter).

Yea because the oat i take have better amount of gluton per scope compared to the classic quaker? I do have cheat meal and normally it will on saturday.

The 5mins cardio is just warming up my body after situps (mostly do rower, set the resistance to mid, row to 50cals shown in the monitor. Then i proceed to weigh training.

Hmm...i've been exercising constantly for few years but then i realize that i did the wrong thing all the while. So I do look fit but actually i'm quite flabby sad.gif. I used to concentrate on cardio alot such as running for 1hour or cross trainer for 1 hour. But now i'm more on weight training and end the session with a lil cardio.

But about the sugar from fruits, is that really as bad as the processed sugar? I need to search and read about it.

I've read that green tea is good but then if u over drink it , it will be bad. It is because some ppl treat it as water. What type of bad, i need to dig out the article already. So now my water bottle is a 2.2litre bottle and i add a slice of lemon in it and drink whole day long.

But then i still feel something not right bout my diet or my training part. Maybe i need to add more carb or protein in it...hmmm

Well of course over doing something is bad no matter what. Maybe one or two cups of green tea is good but not 1 liter shocking.gif I think I get what you mean about the cardio. I used to do treadmill for 45 minutes, and yes my legs did is more firm and such but I decided to do the sprint-jog-sprint-jog which helps me burn more but at a faster rate. I only do one set or else it will tire me out instantly. Maybe your diet should have more protein as it does help out building the muscles.

Hi there, I know another diet that you can try. Google search 'Scarsdale diet.' A friend of mine did it and in two weeks (this diet is for two weeks), she has managed to lose 12 kg. You have to follow the diet strictly, and hey its just two weeks, but you also have to do some exercise. The excercise which you are doing is good enough, but do it maybe twice a day for the fast effect. May I just remind you that by undergoing this diet, your energy might be drained off meaning you cannot do a lot of hardcore activities.
*
You do not need to take such drastic measures such as exercising twice a day. It's ridiculous. And the Scarsdale diet, I don't even want to look at it because it's along the lines of Lyle McDonald's PSMF. If you go on any form of radical crash course diet, your body will hate you and go on a rebound, and probably regain fat twice as fast when you go back to a conventional diet.

Anyone considered the slow-carb diet by Timothy Ferriss?

Sounds promising.

No crash diet involved, just a clever selection of food.

I'm not overweight. In fact my goals are the opposite.

But what's outlined in the diet does make a lot of sense.

Key Rules:
Carbs - Legumes
Protein - Ensure protein intake is adequate throughout the day, especially breakfast: 2 to 3 whole eggs.
Vegetables - Lots of cruciferous vegetables

Example of possible diet:

Breakfast - 3 whole eggs, beans, mixed vegetables
Lunch - Chicken breast/thigh, beans, mixed vegetables
Dinner - Beef, beans, mixed vegetables

I don't know about your diet but I know that nutrient timing and minimizing insulin spikes work. I'm eating banana leaf rice on workout days and Wendy triple burgers on rest days and still burning fat and maintaining 8% plus bf. It's more of a cyclic keto diet I'm doing. And I rarely, rarely do cardio.

QUESTIONS!
Sorry, i'm a noob.

1. Cardio before and after weight training, will you burn off muscle mass?
2. What's the best way to have a 'beach body' ? Let's just say im overweight. Focus on cardio till i lose satisfying amount of weight and pump some irons OR balance it up, cardio and irons same day?

Like DL said, he hardly do cardio but still able to achieve singel digit BF. For me, don't repeat my mistake tho, go straight to weight training and some cardio.

DL, as you've mentioned the combination of nutrient timing and managing insulin spikes works no doubt, is it worthwhile to look into ways to increase insulin sensitivity as well?

Oh btw, u mention about minizing insulin spikes work meaning you don't take fruit constantly too as fruits contain natural sugar? Because I've read to avoid fruits in Keto Diet....and wonder whether taking multivitamin everyday is important?

Very interested in this keto diet and going to follow it. Currently reading about it in BB forum... blush.gif

is it okay for people under 18 to take fat burner supplements? hmm.gif

I have a slight bulging tummy, and my BMI shows that I'm slightly overweight. 185cm, 93kg. I've taken steps to try to reduce my food intake, like having just lunch and dinner and also cut half of what I usually consume. And of course, because of my hectic schedules of tuition etc, I tried doing tabata exercises for a min and so, and I've added situps now and then. I can't go to any gyms, cos obviously I don't have the money to do so. biggrin.gif

I've set a goal to get myself with a flat tummy after I finish my SPM..or it would be better if before my SPM.

Keto works for people who are reasonably high in bodyfat. They are NOT effective for individuals who are already visibly lean. Lol, I hate fruits. I stay away from them cos I hate them.

Caffeine is a cheaper alternative. You don't need fat burners. Pure strong black coffee.
