The TRIM really makes a difference over time smile.gif I've had SSD with and without TRIM and the one without TRIM can really slow things down after a while.

Hey Guys,

Was wondering anyone got review or experience with "OCZ VERTEX 2 60GB SSD [OCZSSD2-2VTXE60G]" ?

I Google about it and most review giving only positive feedback, would like to know the negative side of it.

Any help will be highly appreciated. notworthy.gif

I just wish the SSD manufacturers will start ramping up capacity as opposed to performance. A 'slow' 200 MB/s read/write is good enough if it allows us to buy affordable 256 GB SSDs or even 512 GB SSDs.

I agree with this. something like 50% size of a harddrive and double the speed of harddrive is well enough for me.(for those that don't understand. it's something like double the speed of current normal)

Which is somewhere around 150MB/s read/write is good enough for me, and the size of 256 and 512 which everling mentioned.

Thou i don't really understand why they don't go for economical mid range users and only goes towards enthusiast and high end user aiming for top performance with high price for people to grab it for bragging rights = =.

Yes, it is very silly. The manufacturers are going all shiny over the new SandForce controllers, giving us only 60 GB and 120 GB SSDs. Well, just how is a 500 MB/s read/write on a 120 GB going to interest me when I'm running out of space on my nine month old 128 GB SSD on my laptop?

Kingston! If you give us a 256 GB option, without the scary aggressive TRIM, at about RM 1,280, I'll buy another SSD from you! drool.gif thumbup.gif

In sequential performance, probably yes. But in random read/write performance, dream on. brows.gif

But yeah, I'd buy only one for my laptop. A 128 GB is sufficient for a desktop.

It's not about sequential speed dude
SSD biggest strength is in Random Read/Write,that why your system feel fast and more swift with ssd when compared to HDD

Yea, i checked 1 forum said that multiple HDD raid 0 is not good, because latency increase (Access Time).
So still stick with 1 or 2 SSD raid or not raid the best

285 MB/s sequential read — 275 MB/s sequential write

Are those rated spec really reachable ?

I only know Intel one is reachable, 250Mb/s read, 70/100MB/s write.
