Hi Flinchen,

KL Seet is one of our power user that work close with ASUSmy for ASUS networking. We are different person.

And as for your query, yes you can replace the Maxis with our RT-N66U.

And you can change the mode of the RT-N66U to Access Point and plug in to the LAN cable to the Technicolor.

Remark: Currently our router not yet able to support the ASTRO IPTV from Maxis.

Thank you

I have been following this thread for a while now and I have also done a bit of due diligence work on the Astro/Maxis IPTV settings.

What I believe is happening is that the Astro/IPTV port should be link aggregated. One port with 2 VLANs. Default VLAN (untagged) to the internal IP pool (e.g. 192.168.1.X) and a tagged VLAN (IPTV - 823). The Astro PVR unit is getting the channels listing, etc via the normal VLAN and the contents (actual stream) from the tagged VLAN.

Can ASUS support link aggregation in its original firmware? ASUSWRT can support Link aggregation. If so, can ASUS test and create that profile for the Maxis/Astro IPTV users?

I haven't gotten to get the RT-AC68U as I have no time to experiment with the configurations.

Problem Solved
When Choosing WAN connection type, the most important part that I missed was checking 'Special Requirement from ISP'
Next step Select ISP Profile and choose your ISP. Unifi-Home, Maxis Fibre and etc..
That is it. It takes 60 seconds but after that poof it works!

I just bought a RT-N56U router and i'm having problem to connect to the internet.

Router type: RT-N56U
Firmware Version:3.0.0.4.374_979
ISP: Unifi 5MB

The username and password for PPPOE should be correct as i've double checked it from Unifi support center.
Yet still i'm getting this error when setting it up.

My internet connection setting are as below, with @unifi as username.

Any suggestions?

Hi Guys,

Does anyone know if Download Manager has a scheduler built in, so I can schedule to start my downloads during off-peak hours (2am-8am?). This of course to take advantage of data allocation during that time.
If it doesn't are there alternatives?

The term I was referring to was vlan trunking not link aggregation. Getting rusty.

Anyhow, I have tested my theory and it does not work. The IPTV VLAN (823) is never to be connected directly the the PVR. That vlan carries the multicast traffic for the channel. The Thompson router dynamically routes the multicast when there's a request from any LAN port for the multicast traffic. This could possibly be achieved with IGMP Proxy or IGMP Snooping. I'll leave that experimentation to the others here.

Hi ASUSmy,

i've updated the N14UHP router with the latest version firmware from Asus support - 3.0.0.4.374.4422 - dated 13th Feb 2014.

Now the YES option does appear in the list of ISP if i select Malaysia.

but i am still unable to connect at all -

It asks for these details on the page :

Username :
Password :
Email address :
PIN :

Has anyone successfully used YES Go Dongle on these Asus Routers ?
Is the default PIN 0000 ?

thanks

Hi jananan,

When you applied YES GO, you will be given user name and password which is required when you log in in your computer or laptop.

All you need is just key in the User Name and the Password inside.

Thank you

I just bought one unit of rt-n12HP and so far I'm really satisfied of the performance.
Setup was a breeze and it will automatically setup your IPTV as well. But, I have a few question to ask.

From what I understand we are able to create multiple SSID's and I intend to use it to set a guest AP. What I was hoping to achieve is that my main (hidden) wifi connection will have the upmost priority and uncapped speed while the guest AP will have a capped speed of 1mbps and lower priority.

Sadly, I wasn't able to find the option nor can I set the bandwidth priority. A quick search around the net I learned that in order to achieve this, I have to manually assign an IP address for my every device and use the QoS feature to throttle down every other IP's other than mine. This is really a hassle for me and beat the purpose of having multiple SSID's.

I mean, what is the point of having multiple SSID's if you can't even control their bandwidth or even cap their speed? And on the latest FW 3.0.0.4.374_430 I still can access the intranet from the guest AP.
