Hi Flinchen,
KL Seet is one of our power user that work close with ASUSmy for ASUS networking. We are different person.
And as for your query, yes you can replace the Maxis with our RT-N66U.
And you can change the mode of the RT-N66U to Access Point and plug in to the LAN cable to the Technicolor.
Remark: Currently our router not yet able to support the ASTRO IPTV from Maxis.
Thank you
I have been following this thread for a while now and I have also done a bit of due diligence work on the Astro/Maxis IPTV settings. KL Seet is one of our power user that work close with ASUSmy for ASUS networking. We are different person.

What I believe is happening is that the Astro/IPTV port should be link aggregated. One port with 2 VLANs. Default VLAN (untagged) to the internal IP pool (e.g. 192.168.1.X) and a tagged VLAN (IPTV - 823). The Astro PVR unit is getting the channels listing, etc via the normal VLAN and the contents (actual stream) from the tagged VLAN.
Can ASUS support link aggregation in its original firmware? ASUSWRT can support Link aggregation. If so, can ASUS test and create that profile for the Maxis/Astro IPTV users?
I haven't gotten to get the RT-AC68U as I have no time to experiment with the configurations.
