Finally found a way to share YES dongle by using a dsl router ! rclxm9.gif
The router has 4 LAN ports, LAN1 taken by 1st PC so can connect three more PC to the router.
The router also can provide wifi hotspot.

This configuration, is for sharing using PC/Laptop. I'm currently experimenting to convert the Yes GO to fully become portable hotspot Wifi, only lack some stuff to complete.

It's like prepaid internet. While the speed is awesome, postpaid brings more value than prepaid in long term. Which means, if you suddenly want fast speed for a while, and don't care about the cost, this plan is better for you.

this speed is amazing!! but latency seem not good as the dl speed...

what did you use to dl for such faster dl speed? movie? games? songs? beside speedtest, you dl file speed can reach that speed? i means average speed...
*
i think you got it wrong. lower latency is better..
im at work at the moment. i can test the dl speed later at home for you.

this speed is not from ytl by the way. im renting a place in singapore because of work. that is the speed of singtel's fibre connection.

i'm only using 2mbps connection in johor bahru.

Wait untill the Zoom router is available – the 4G WiFi router come with LAN ports......and you can put in a strong hardware firewall.
In the pass, the cyber hacker/attacker keep on sending malware/Trojan to my laptop and made my laptop into a "bot"
(Microsoft's article about bots: http://www.microsoft.com/security/pc-security/botnet.aspx )
Now after re-format harddisk reinstall Windows, and put in a Cisco Hardware firewall, the cyber hacker/attacker have no way to send malware/Trojan to my laptop anymore.

I get around 4-7MB download speed in Ampang where I stay. Signal strength is around 3-5 bars. Anyone knows if we can upgrade the modem to 3rd party or anything we can do to increase the transmission rate/power?

i think going to increase the transmit power seem impossible thing for now? alternative way is increase your rssi signal via attach external antenna.

I'm using the USB dongle and I'm not sure if there are any custom software/firmware that could change those information. I'm new to wireless broadband (always with Streamyx but now totally sick of it) so I was thinking if it's possible to get 3rd party modems? I can't believe that by using this wireless 4G, I get better latency in my COD Black Ops compared to Streamyx which is WIRED.

See how much our Streamyx fails but still not doing anything about it!

I just read the Streamyx thread where the CEO talked about throttling, capping, FUP, etc. and the associated blog post here. Now I'm feeling pretty good about the utility model, as long as the video pirates stay away from YTL's service I won't have to suffer like all the other 'average users' on unlimited plan services.
