the data send/receive using https:// are secure even over the air.

What i means are those Malware/Trojan infection comming to your pc/laptop easily if your laptop/pc is not protected by a hardware firewall.

Wow, you posted again. Do you carry around a hardware firewall to connect to your laptop or smartphone wherever you go? I also assume you never read that phones also can get infected by trojans and be taken over. Google to remove your ignorance, dear.

Yes, I am in a bad mood today. biggrin.gif

I'm betting both of you don't use 3G on your phone, since there is no 'firewall' on your phone. Can I also assume you never use public Wifi like Starbucks? Sigh, you probably don't realize that your phone is telling the whole world where you are right now, and that SMS is also unencrypted and can be sniffed with a RM50 antenna box.

Malaysia has a lot of idiots.

haha, it's true. thanks sifu! actually i got use 3g on my phone.

ya, im understanding your point, malware/trojan is everwhere on the net. i also agree hardware firewall, it really work on it! But it seem like many people think, my pc got anti-virus software, why i can infected by virus, is it anti-virus installed pc is immune from the virus???

malware/trojan, i can sure tell you, most is from usb(pen drive)/hard disk drive, but not from internet!

quick question, i would like to buy de wifi dongle to share de wifi point at home.....basically, i own a pc (surfing, check mail, msn, fb), 2 notebk, iphone, ipad also for surfing...mayb plus ps3 to play game...hw much it will be cost per month???? hw much of data will it need?

i jus need an estimation cost incur per month...appreciate any user can share ur usage per month...tq
*
i cant "guess" how much bandwidth you use monthly, since you have so many pc sharing it. why don't you install DU meter on each sharing pc, i think got similiar software for iphone and i pad too. then you can calculated how much exactly you used monthly...

it's often we think "i only use for surfing, check mail, msn,fb", i used not much bandwidth, may not correct without measurement.

The RM30. Is it the minimum has to spend (at 9 sen per sms/minute/3mb) on services ?

For example if I use only 100 mintes a month. That means rm9.

So it will be :
1) I still need to pay rm30 as minimum payment.
or
2) I have to pay rm30 + rm9 for a total of rm39 ?

Here are the scenarios:
a) Your example, you used RM9, RM21 will be deducted from your balance to make it RM30 (RM9+RM21).
b) You used RM35 for the month. Nothing is deducted, just your usage of RM35.
c) If you don't used for a month, RM30 will be deducted from your balance.

Note. If you don't have RM30 in your balance, when you log-in, you go directly to the top-up page.

Thank you very much for the clearification.

So the minimum payment is rm30 per month. Not a bad deal. Wait until they came to Penang then can test and see how.

i think i need to sell my YES GO usb dongle.
it's too unstable around my house, frequent disconnection sometimes.
PM me if you're interested to buy.
*
I was using GO dongle on my WinXP since a week ago, it was fine until 2 days ago. (It was on 24hrs everyday)
Two days ago some weird thing happen.

1st of all i have already updated the laptop with latest security update and than let my laptop idle
But than i notice that the connection icon keep on blinking showing data transfer activity.
I suspect it was caused by some kind of malware activity.
So i iimmediately disconnect it and never use the dongle again.
(i don't want to take the risk of getting malware/Trojan)
Wait until i find a way to put in a hardware firewall.

Think about this: Why big organisation/corporation spend thousands of ringgit on hardware firewall? and they need to hire IT personal to configure/maintain the hardware firewall also.
Not just big organisation/corporation need strong network security, nowaday home user also need strong network security!

Because big corporation got money to spend. Big corporation tend to buy SSL certificate for RM3k from verisign where you can get is for RM50 from cheapssl.

Firewall is just a simple software or hardware which allowed or block access to or from the internet.

There are many software out there which connect to the internet on their own. Mostly for update.

Don't worry too much.

Put something like zonealarm firewall.. It's will ask you permission for any internet access required by any software.. and it's free.

Thanks!
The photo hosting site was down yesterday.
Now all links working again.

Is the connector the same as on your laptop wifi card?
Picture not very clear.
If it is, salvage the wires from a laptop and make your own antenna.
So nice of the manufacturer to provide an opening for your external antenna. smile.gif

copied from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Trojan_horse_%28computing%29
Trojan horses can be installed through the following methods:
* Software downloads
* Bundling (e.g. a Trojan horse included as part of a software application downloaded from a file sharing network)
* Email attachments
* Websites containing executable content (e.g., a Trojan horse in the form of an ActiveX control)[4]
* Application exploits (e.g., flaws in a Web browser, media player, instant-messaging client, or other software that can be exploited to allow installation of a Trojan horse)

I don't think antivirus or Internet security suites(software) is 100% effective against all type of malware out there.
