guys. i would like to ask something.
is the idata plan can only be subscribe when buying iphone from maxis?

lets say, i have an iphone, and just port in to maxis postpaid and i want idata 1. can i subscribe?

bcs i call maxis service, they say idata plan can subscribe only if you make purchase of iphone with them and do straight away subscription.

is this true?

^ i asked this twice no one answer tongue.gif

if what the maxis service person say is true, u can still get the mobile internet package. rm58 for 500mb per month, rm78 for 1.5gb n rm88 for 3gb. another good thing is u can opt for value 30 (idata is only for value 50 n above for principle lines)

But the thing is, i've already unsubscribe the mobile internet package, too expensive for me. RM58 a month / 500mb.
i've been subscribing this for almost 6 months. 1 month i can use only up to 100MB

so it was not worth to pay 58 for something i dont use.

so any other suggestion?

THANKS smile.gif

The price would drop because if it is the same price as the Iphone 4 32gb, I don't think anybody would want to buy the 3gs 32gb.

@iphoneiphone,
If Maxis hasn't changed their rules, U can't port-in and subscribe to an iData plan; port-in customers IINM needs to subscribe to the iValue plans only.

@tinkerbel
that's strange... you can't get iValue plan unless you buy the iPhone from Maxis... the iData plan is for people who buy iPhone elsewhere.

BTW, you are wrong... the Iphone 4 16GB offer at RM1000 for iValue2 plan, it will not happen la... if not i think i'll ditch iphone and choose android although i'm very lazy to do a lot of customizing...

If i am a supplementary line, and i want iValue 1, will my bill still be shared with my principal line? e.g : iValue 1 = RM100 + Rm50 (principal), if my principal line use more than RM50, it will be taken from my RM100?

boss we are talking about hardware and performance as in no matter what a 256 memory cant beat a 512 memory and a 600mhz processor can never beat a 1GHZ processor, talking about the 3GS and iPhone 4.

I was also referring to outright purchases between iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4, not the plans, again maxis is offering the price for a 2 year contract.

bro i fi mind about the performance then of course i'll take Android, it is more customizable and bigger screen also... all i need is a camera with AF, email is my main purpose; then i don want to spend too much on the device, my planning is RM1000 max for device...
as i said if i want to spend on the device i'll get android Samsung 3Gs or HTC Desire... more freedom on android platform, more free apps, exchangeable battery bigger screen, longer warranty, better local support and of course don have the grip of death...
that is my sense...

whoops sorry i've missed ur post. actually i've just asked that same question at a maxis centre a few days ago. for iValue plans ur bill wont be shared. urs is rm100 n ur principal line is rm50... so lets say u use only rm90 but he use rm60... then u'll still pay rm160

no... it is not... thats y i prefer iphone but i want it below RM1000 for 3Gs... if not i might skip to Android since the hype of iphone4 is overwhelming... the price is at least RM1.5k for 2 yrs contract... or even more....
well somebody like Android for more customizable and free apps, but Iphone is more simplify but slightly smaller... so hard to make a decision, but if the price is the factor iphone 3Gs is quite ok although it is still expensive compare to some others countries carrier with contract...

@michael9413,
If ur looking for an iPhone 3GS, the best time to purchase it would be in the next couple of weeks, just before Maxis/DiGi launches the iPhone 4. Am quite sure prices would have dropped drastically.

Otherwise, go get it 2nd hand from some of the forummers here biggrin.gif

i doubt that here is some proof:

HTC Desire

Samsung Galaxy S

Regarding free apps, the app store has more than 238509 apps currently available, and i bet there are more free apps there then the android market which has 70000 apps only.
