guys, i'm suppose to register for my 3Gs yesterday but when to Sunway all stock finish for 3Gs 16GB, i got a news even the whole Klang Valley do not have stock on 16GB already
aiya wiat for 16GB iPhone 4 ma, shud be cheaper then the current offering, why wanna buy old car when got new car, cheaper?
haha you are wrong, that is not always happen at me... like i always love my old toy... Vios makes me feel floating when i drive 140km/h... no such problem even at 160km/h with my old toy...
BTW, you are wrong... the Iphone 4 16GB offer at RM1000 for iValue2 plan, it will not happen la... if not i think i'll ditch iphone and choose android although i'm very lazy to do a lot of customizing...
boss we are talking about hardware and performance as in no matter what a 256 memory cant beat a 512 memory and a 600mhz processor can never beat a 1GHZ processor, talking about the 3GS and iPhone 4.
I was also referring to outright purchases between iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4, not the plans, again maxis is offering the price for a 2 year contract.
bro i fi mind about the performance then of course i'll take Android, it is more customizable and bigger screen also... all i need is a camera with AF, email is my main purpose; then i don want to spend too much on the device, my planning is RM1000 max for device... as i said if i want to spend on the device i'll get android Samsung 3Gs or HTC Desire... more freedom on android platform, more free apps, exchangeable battery bigger screen, longer warranty, better local support and of course don have the grip of death... that is my sense...
i doubt that here is some proof:
HTC Desire
Samsung Galaxy S
Regarding free apps, the app store has more than 238509 apps currently available, and i bet there are more free apps there then the android market which has 70000 apps only.

bro call the 123 hotline or helpline is useless, went to Sunway and Pavillion to purchase 16GB end up both place no stock and yet they ask me to go there, give 1 girl a nice lecture after they reply to my complaint online... but she promise if there is any stock for 16GB will on hold 1 for me, but unfortunately...
Maxis had just called me that all the 16GB Iphone is not available in malaysia any more... only 32GB available... so they are preparing for the shift to Iphone4...
again on the android vs iphone OS issues is varies from different ppl... i like iphone but the price of the phone + plan makes me hold back, but i like the current promo price which i can get 1 16GB only RM890 for my usage... i tried with Samsung Galaxy S at maxis center quite ok with it, going to try desire also... but both the price is a bit steep for me and i give up all the phone changing process 2 yrs ago...
i have yet make up my mind till now... lets pray that i get what i wanted... haha... well i don mind 2nd hand, can't get a nicer price than their offer RM1300 for 16GB... haha i agree but u will not hold that phone like that...
yeah that is also how the iPhone 4 is held by the complainers, so its a non issue i guess.
guys, if i were to get the iPhone4 with the prepaid pack, and used it oversea, will i still get the 500mb free every month and will my usage be charge differently because i am using the roaming service
domestic use only, peninsular malaysia+Sabah+sarawak

i truthfully doubt msia price is less than rm2490....
normally its singapore pricing plus minus 100-50 ringgit, we'll see when it launches, someone said maxis will be launching the plans middle of this month an dthe phone will be delivered next month, so i guess 2 weeks more.
dont expect the iphone price to be cheaper or as cheap as your conventional HTC or Nokia even if their specs are higher, but performance might be a let down, still cannot match the community support ands apps that is offered by apple, if price is an issue then better not get the iphone.
@yuvanesh: the hotlink plan is sort of like outright purchase, just buy a prepaid card from maxis and thats it, after that throw it into the bin
Yes, but they will mark up a lot. Because they want you to use their plans.
no such thing, outright prices are controlled by apple. this has been the case everywhere, only Digi wants you to use their plans and doesnt offer outright purchase, not maxis.
it still doesnt negate the fact apple controls the prices on their on terms in each country, that statistic is to compare prices of iphones in other countries, prices are set based on a number of factors such, as transport fees, electronic goods tax, government tax, excise duties that vary from country to country, after taking all of this into consideration apple sets the prices accordingly, so at the end of the day its apple's call not the telco's to set an outright price. Maxis or Digi has no say in outright price, apple does.

Is there a link or source to show that apple control the iphone price or are u guys just speculating?
is there a link or source that says BMW AG is controlling the price of BMW cars all over the world? you dont need one because its common sense that BMW doesnt relegate the pricing task to auto bavaria, sapura autos, or cartrade(Malaysian BMW resellers). Apple has and always been regulating all of their products in all of the countries they are in business, if you ever bought a mac or ipod before its a common knowledge.

QUOTE(TenNix @ Aug 8 2010, 06:07 PM)
i guess it's 2490 and 2990 respectively still... which is kind of disappointing. wish maxis will reduce the price though it's nearly impossible...
hmm at this point i would think they'd mirror the singaporean pricing or a bit pricier at 100=150 extra, have to wait for maxis to reveal the prices soon.

Apple may have most, but not full control of the prices and all. Its a compromise, and an agreement.
I'm trying to point out that we are encouraged to use their plans instead of just buying the phone which costs us more. We still gotta make phone calls anyway right
Added on August 9, 2010, 12:41 pm But I really wish that the pre order will be available in Mid August, and the iPhone 4 will reach us users in late August. I cannot tahan d
Added on August 9, 2010, 12:48 pm YES! Can't wait
wasnt your argument earlier on was maxis will jack up the price of the phone? so that people would sign for the plans? So since they never jacked up ever before why start now? that is also the reason why myself and xaw included pointed out to you apple has absolute control on the outright purchase.
as for the iphone 4 im a bit skeptical, my housemate who works for maxis says somewhere in octber, im not holding my breath just yet.
Nonono. I apologize for expressing my words so badly.
Okay what I mean was not "maxis will jack up the price" but "maxis does jack up the price" yet this is still not totally correct. In fact you two were right that Apple has control over the prices so that they dont vary in different places. I made this statement because I noticed that the contract free iPhones are priced so highly at RM2990 when Maxis released the 3GS in early August 2009. And this is why most of the people go with the plan but not getting the contract free iPhone instead. Just like other telcos in other countries. Contract free iPhones are more expensive, of course. And since people gotta make calls, they don't see the point getting contract free iPhones. I was simply trying to tell the user who first asked if maxis will sell outright that contract free iPhone are definitely more expensive that iPhones with plans. I hope you understand that it's more like a suggestion, not an argument.
As for the Maxis iPhone 4, everyone's been saying about different things. Some say that apple will delay the August and September batches because they're making slight changes to the hardware, some say they couldn't get approval from certain countries. Sigh, I just hope that Malaysia will be one of the countries in the August batch just like how it was for the 3GS. *praying hardly*
well, it all depends actually some might feel that the outright price is justifiable since they think maxis is dispatching crappy service, so they'd get it and put their Celcom, uMobile, TuneTalk,Digi sims in.
Regarding the launch, hmm u havent factored agency approval aka the government thru sirim, that takes an even longer time, im hoping anyone who works at sirim to clarify if they have test units
Yeah especially when Maxis claims to have a 3.6Mbps but many users only get around 1.2-1.6Mbps. What about yours? Sigh its really a long procedure. By the time it reaches Malaysia there are already new iPods =.=''
funny i get 2.4mbps thru the maxis mobile broadband.
Is worthy to sign up maxis plan. but I think Digi will come out wiv some other plans to beat Maxis. watch and see. Hehe. Consumer earn.
err why is it that when one speaks of Digi, CHEAP comes into mind? You do realize Digi is slapping a 2 year contract at your face with the 3GS? with littel amount of calling minutes as opposed to Maxis? do check the package for 3GS and you'll know what im talking about.
that is correct, but it is unlikely telco will sell prepaid iphone as they can reap more money from customer signing on to the plans. Hope that we can order it from apple online store as well
it is also very likely that you havent been following the local iphone plans closely.
try getting them when it is released not like 1 year after it has been released. See if the telco will sell them to you.
they had it since day one, my point still stands they do offer the prepaid plan despite what you said that they dont. I know they froze this plan somehere in october to teh november timeframe, due to the huge demand from the ivalue plans, still they restarted them soon after.
