bro call the 123 hotline or helpline is useless, went to Sunway and Pavillion to purchase 16GB end up both place no stock and yet they ask me to go there, give 1 girl a nice lecture after they reply to my complaint online... but she promise if there is any stock for 16GB will on hold 1 for me, but unfortunately...
Maxis had just called me that all the 16GB Iphone is not available in malaysia any more... only 32GB available... so they are preparing for the shift to Iphone4... again on the android vs iphone OS issues is varies from different ppl... i like iphone but the price of the phone + plan makes me hold back, but i like the current promo price which i can get 1 16GB only RM890 for my usage... i tried with Samsung Galaxy S at maxis center quite ok with it, going to try desire also... but both the price is a bit steep for me and i give up all the phone changing process 2 yrs ago... i have yet make up my mind till now... lets pray that i get what i wanted... QUOTE(tinkerbel @ Jul 29 2010, 09:03 AM) @michael9413, haha... well i don mind 2nd hand, can't get a nicer price than their offer RM1300 for 16GB... If ur looking for an iPhone 3GS, the best time to purchase it would be in the next couple of weeks, just before Maxis/DiGi launches the iPhone 4. Am quite sure prices would have dropped drastically. Otherwise, go get it 2nd hand from some of the forummers here QUOTE(nimrod323 @ Jul 29 2010, 10:30 AM) i doubt that here is some proof: haha i agree but u will not hold that phone like that...Regarding free apps, the app store has more than 238509 apps currently available, and i bet there are more free apps there then the android market which has 70000 apps only. I'll say that the vertical integration on iPhone is the best. you only give your credit card number to Apple, no one else. then every time you buy something, it'll bug you for password again.
over 250 thousand apps... 'nuff said. so many different speakers + casings... so many different integrated opportunities with 3rd parties... its amazing! |

QUOTE(iphoneiphone @ Jul 28 2010, 09:51 AM) But the thing is, i've already unsubscribe the mobile internet package, too expensive for me. RM58 a month / 500mb. Hi...i've been subscribing this for almost 6 months. 1 month i can use only up to 100MB so it was not worth to pay 58 for something i dont use. so any other suggestion? THANKS I got these rates for data... so perhaps you can call 123 to ask further RM18 - 100MB RM38 - 250MB RM58 - 500MB Hope it helps bob |

hi all,
i'm totally noobs with iphone...just bought 2 weeks ago from maxis..only the phone without any ivalue/idata plan... just want to share my stupidity that lead to my money terbang away..yesterday morning i checked my maxis unbilled amount is RM280..im totally shocked when saw that amount since my usage per month is only rm80-100 (phone/sms), for surfing, dload apps i only use wifi..then i went to maxis center to hentam sama maxis..got one amoi cantik (maxis's staff )checked the my bill's details..and she mentioned that Rm200 is for my 3g data usage (2mb) and Rm80 for my phone/sms usage..wallauweh.. i marah her that i never used 3g to surf/dload any apps how come my bill was so high...and she kept blaming me that if im not the one who used it whoelse use it..then she asked me whether i turn on my cellular data on that day..yes i told her but i only turned on less than 1 hour leh..then she asked me one simple question, you pernah pakai iphone tak?then i said yes but only 2 weeks la..then she started to whack me again..she said iphone is not same with other phone, once turning on the cellular data and just let it updating apps/loading data itself for sure u suffered la..can talk like this ka??then she said 1kb=1cent, so mine is 2mb = 2000kb = rm200 = wallauweh so expensive meh??? Lastly i just paid all my bills without asking her more question and until now i still dont know what apps that i have update or data that i accidentally used on that day since maxis oso can not check what data which have been used for 3g data transfer.. now im really phobia to turn on my cellular data..just use wifi..have anyone facing this before?? |

@poex,
you buy iPhone and don't ask anything about how it works? alamak... the staff who sell to you also dum-dum, never explain that its an INTERNET phone, it will try to stay online as far as possible. call Maxis hotline, get a data plan. or make sure to keep the cellular data off. cos data charges without a plan is 1kb = 1sen. very very expensive. MANY MANY Malaysians face this before, but the carriers prefer not to explain to customers and our law protects the carrier. I repeat, its an INTERNET phone, like buying a sports car, don't tell me you only bought it to show off, cos the costs are high. if not OK with the data charges, keep the cellular data switch off or give it up. |

I got a data plan cos I wanna use my iPhone when I'm in mamak, my dad's place (no wifi), in the car... and all the other places I go to.
if you don't plan to use the internet services outside your home, then MAKE SURE the cellular data switch is off, and just use wifi. personally, i think that's a waste of the iPhone, but that's my opinion. YMMV. |

@poex,
The iphone will use too much data and your bill will very high.. i suggest you take data plan otherwise you turn of the data network in your iphone, but again iphone without data plan is somehow where you cant use it into it extend. |

couldn't agree more with xaw5126 and TakanoKyohei, go get a data plan or give it up. You'll be under-utilising the "power" of the iPhone. It'll be such a waste then. IMO, iPhone without proper data plan = crippled phone experience.
