what is ur mobo model?

AMD chipset....if just single card (not SLI) i think AMD chipset should be no prob to handle ur GTX260 or other 'green side' card
last time using GTX280 on my AMD870 chipset w/o any prob. but if dual mode just support CFx only.

HD5770 CF u can get low price (if used item) and u will get performance par HD5870..less or better might be.

but why not u just go through for HD68xx series hmm.gif
*
agree wif u, go for 6800 series bro, single card enuff~~~ rclxms.gif

Definitely Radeon HD6870!
Why? Even though performance is weaker than Dual Radeon HD4870 CFX. However, it's more than enough to max out most games in FULL HD Resolution. Moreover, it supports DirectX 11, Eyefinity(1 GPU can support more than 3 screens), EyeSpeed and AMD HD3D(3D Vision).

Future-wise it's more favorable for you to get the 6870 although a CF'ed 4870 has similar performance as the 6870 and a tiny tad more from 5850.
Having said, the 4 Series is already two generations behind, it would be a different story if you have a 5770 and want to CF it.

To sum up, both of them (CF'ed 4870 & 6870) scores similarly in a synthetic benchmark test for e.g. like 3DMark Vantage, but in the real world gaming applications, the 6870 will majorly edged the CF'ed 4870 with it's Tessellation abilities, meaning you'll miss out on the eye-candy DX11 capable games. (yeah people will say there's isn't much DX11 games, but the beautifully rendered DX11 will make up for it's number)

No, the reason is the developer's couldn't afford to spend more time to implement any DX11 elements into the game.
Delays could cost Codemaster a lot of $$$ lost on the PC platform department, they want to launch that game simultaneously with all the other consoles..(Xbox360, PS3, etc.)

IMO, I think they learnt it from Dirt 2, which was couple of months late in it's PC platform release date because of the DX11 workload...

Well, as a driving gamed fan, I'm disappointed though, F1 2010 deserves eye-candy graphics... sweat.gif

Hi everyone,

It’s been a while since we last updated on the forthcoming F1 2010 patch so here is where things are at currently…

There have also been several PC specific improvements as well:
PC 'replay saving' and playback – You will be able to save out the files to replay them later or share them with others.
DX11 – The F1 2010 patch will enable the game to run on DX11. All of the graphical improvements are configurable from graphical options when in DX11. Specifically, "ultra" settings for 'shadows' and 'postprocess'. (These options require a lot of processing power, and are only recommended for high-end graphics cards.
Eyefinity Support – F1 2010 now supports 3 x 1 or 3 x 2 monitor display setups (minimum requirement of 3 x monitors)
Optimisations – We have made better use of multi-core processors in general, which will lead to better framerates on higher end machines.
Additional Support - Support for SandyBridge processors, which also adds support for currently available 'modern' processors, like Core i7, which wasn't correctly detected previously.
This list is not exhaustive of the issues being addressed in the patch but a snap shot of the key improvements. Please keep your feedback coming though as it is invaluable both for the work on the patch and for the design of F1 2011.

Once the patch goes into submission, we’ll try to give you guys a heads up as to when it will be live and ready to download as soon as we know.

Thanks for your continued support & feedback.

The F1 2010 Development Team.

HardOCP is reporting pricedrops to GTX470 and GTX460 coming soon. If anything, Radeon 68xx cards sure make things good for the customer, right?

If these GeForce GTX460 drop even more, I think those Mid-End GPUs will be freaking cheap until those HTPC(Low-End) GPUs will be pointless to be produced anymore. LOL.

I don't really care about the price drop for GeForce GTX470 since it's a worthless GPU to begin with.

if gtx 470 drops to 850 it will be superb

galaxy gtx 460 768 and gigabyte gtx 460 768 is already rm 540 and 570 there will be another price cut for 768mb coming probably around 10 usd but i think it will not come to msia as asus msi and other brands have not even dropped to below 600.

for gtx 460 1gb i think it will be around 600 to 650 but again msia will not get that cut soon.

i am really hoping gtx 470 to drop to 850 oc ing a 470 matches 480 stock speed and with that speed i hope i would not need to upgrade my gc for at least a year.

for 6800 series i hope the dx 11 effects+cfx scaling+oc performance improves. ocing a 460 can give 15% to 20% perf but in ati 5000 it didnt give.

i dont think there is much room left for ocing 6870 as its already 900 core at best 1000 core is possible . as for 6850 hopefully it will shine.

our PC specs are almost identical except the RAM and hdd.. I guess if you OC your proc and 5850 alil bit, it is sufficient for major games playing at 1920x1080 resolution..
