QUOTE(Piros @ Sep 29 2010, 08:46 PM) Replacing the X7XX with the X8XX for no good reason? I am doubting TweakTown so hard. And if it does come to pass, I'm going to have so much hate for AMD. |

why i think their strategy to price it higher than 58xx..
so no mid range.. end up fall to 5 series.. since high end 5 series can cope most of the games.. and to control the pricing.. damn.. hate monopolize.. |

QUOTE(8tvt @ Sep 30 2010, 09:03 AM) i'm still using 10.3v.. not sure why need to upgrade.. Well usually the driver is to enhance performance for some specified game though. But seriously, all those game that ATI has increase performance, it's either i finished playing or I dont like the game. So same side as you, last night i tried darksiders on it still ok.. but really push my gpu to 99% of usage.. cpu usage also quite balance.. @ 50% for all cores.. |

But no official word yet from AMD.Edit: I might wrong...they change the name? Remember 6000 series is meant to be a refresh line and Nvidia is also planning for a refresh in the next couple of months. It won't be on the 28nm, only the HD7XXX series will be on that die. |

QUOTE(Clem1982 @ Sep 30 2010, 10:14 AM) Bad news for you, it seems like they delayed the card until November. But dont know whether it is true or not, only October will find out QUOTE Update: Actually no, it's on track Source: http://fudzilla.com/graphics/item/20331-hd...ack-to-novemberDigitimes is reporting that AMD has postponed the planned HD 6000 series by a few weeks. The cards were reportedly supposed to launch on October 12, but it appears that we won’t see them till November. It’s not like AMD is in much of a hurry, as its old HD 5000 series is still more than a match for fresh Nvidia cards. It is rumoured that Nvidia will cut prices in October to keep up with AMD’s new parts. Nvidia is also planning to introduce the low-end GT 430 in mid-October. However, it’s worth noting that Nvidia has already cut Fermi pricing several times this year. The GTX 460, which is arguably Nvidia’s most competitive card at the moment, is a good example. When it launched it retailed at €199, which quickly went down to €179 and then in went even lower, quite a bit lower in fact. At the moment, the GTX 460 is available for just €130 in some European markets. In contrast, AMD has not adjusted the prices of most HD 5000 cards since their launch, nearly a year ago. More here. Update: Minutes after posting the story we were informed by some people in the know that the launch will indeed go ahead as planned. We can expect some fresh and tasty Radeons in two weeks, but mass availability should probably be expected sometime in November. As for Nvidia's price cuts, well it's not like they have much choice.
