u guys should grab hdds fast. alot storage hardware all kena kastam tax. thumbdrive also kena..coming soon all the hdds, pendrive price will not stable.

why is that.. thought computer parts not impose with taxes..

we dealing with distributor who always import the thumbdrive, ram, hdds. they told us these.

and we also importer. media player , gps, IT things. all kena tax. and very strict nowadays.

the computer parts will slowly price increase.
some of the distributors selling below cost to lowyat plaza, tat's why sometime u can see the price damn low. example, WD,Intel, Intel Mobo. dont like to mention which supplier

Just fyi guys, all new HDD out by 2011 will use 4kb sector.

I thought Computer stuff are tax free?

Lowyat selling the 3.5" IDE/SATA casing for RM50, go ask around, but durability of this price is not guaranteed. There're over hundred ringgit, but thats all depends on your budget.

Kuching, Sarawak here got sell, cheapest is RM60~70. Only give 3-month warranty xD;;

For me, i still feel it's risky to go for Samsung since it just penetrated the market and got popular just recently. WD on the other hard have been so long surviving in this highly competitive industry. I own WD Black and WD RE3 HDD.

I don't think there is anything wrong going Samsung anyway. Between the Black Cavier and the Spinpoint F3, i go F3 anytime. Reason: Samsung hdd are much cooler compare to WD's Black (for 1tb) + Samsung have always been around for quite sometime and only recently being introduce in Malaysia beginning this year.

it maybe not popular here..
but it well-known in other country..
so what's the prob.. or maybe the user itself is risky..
