hello guys, i need a suggestion here... i want to get an external harddisk, previously i planned to get the WD my book essential but after i read this thread, i have a second thought now.. so i plan to get the 1tb SpinPoint F3 now... can anyone pls suggest me which external enclosure is good for this HDD (prefer the one with fan)..

guys, i just got my 1tb f3 with hornettek goliath... the thing is, when i switch on the power on the enclosure, it is producing some sounds at the beginning, but after 2,3 sec, the sound is gone... i'm not sure the sounds came from the HD or the enclosure....is this normal guys?

Just sent in 2 WD drives (640GB AAKS) for RMA through their website after they start developing bad sectors. The 3 year warranty for these drives expire July / August next year. Hopefully, the RMA process goes quick and smooth.

Perhaps they can help u send for you but there's a cost. Barracuda 320GB is the hottest harddisk in my RIG btw. Big chance for failure if it does not cooled sufficiently. |

There's some bottleneck some where, either your express card slot?! or your USB3.0 dock, but I have doubt about the dock having bottleneck. For reference purpose, please have your dock connect to a faster system, maybe hook up a friend's USB3.0 ready system and test. Oh, not to forget to post your laptop model and specs here as well so everyone can suggest, comment and research.  |
