It probably could be the expresscard fault. Guys, I have seen the usb 3.0 expresscard with a hole on the side for connecting to a usb 2.0 port, what is it for?

Understood. Will try to hook up to my friend's pc with usb 3.0 mobo to test. The laptop model is Inspiron 1520, T7250 @ 2.0Ghz, 2Gb RAM, 8600M GT 250GB hdd (5400rpm).

Yeah, that was what I was suspecting.. it seems to be still at the usb 2.0 speed level??? I had no idea what's bottlenecking it..

When I switched on the dock, the hdd has start-up sound much like a dvd-rom would make (spinning sound like).

I didn't plug in the extra cable that connect the expresscard to usb 2.0 port since I think it is only useful for devices that require more power supply. The hdd dock that connect to the expresscard already has its own power supply.

3TB is hitting the mainstream market soon. 2TB might need to give way to drop price. I bought 1TB Samsung F3 @ RM188 2 months ago.

I plan to get another one to RAID it later. just gonna wait it to drop to minimum price. Another RM60 to go lol.

I think the price will come to a point where it'll stuck there, might be due to production cost or no more production means either you get it or you just don't get it.
But considering the 1TB still the fastest performance drive from Samsung, they didn't come out with 2TB 7,200rpm, unlike WD Carviar Black. I think the production of this size might continue to unforeseeable future, but price-wise, might stuck at some point.

do anyone here ever use HDD Regenerator? my 500GB Seagate shows a lot of bad sectors. damn. baru 2 tahun je.

i want to repair it and put level-3 important files. bad sectors really can slow my processes. just changed OS to another WD hdd.

yup use b4... can help to repair.. but wont guaranty it will still last..
but mine repaired already for 1 month.. can same sometimes it be hang for 1 sec when accessing

today just manage to grab samsung HD204UI @ rm295 from viewnet... all other shop selling at rm315...

can i know exactly when 3TB will come out? need to plan budget lah
