QUOTE(celciuz @ Jul 20 2010, 05:10 PM) I was checking out Thundermatch's price list. yea, the price drop a lot since the era of wd 640gb.The Samsung 1TB 32mb is RM215 but the WD 1TB 64mb RM218... but the Black is RM295 @_@. Been sometime since I search for these :S. that time wd 640gb also cost around rm2xx. |

QUOTE(besiegetank @ Jul 23 2010, 04:55 PM) Seriously how come the price for HDD can drop so fast but I don't see the same trend for SSD. I'm thinking to buy one for my gaming setup but now it still over my budget. Anyone know any 'insider' information about SSD price dropping in the future? growing market of HDD. but i think SSD still takes time, since only enthusiast aiming for them. which SSD model bro aiming? |

think so, e-sata not a popular interface compared to USB.
also not all motherboard will have e-sata connection. |

QUOTE(donpapachino @ Jul 24 2010, 04:36 AM) if im not mistaken, for ssd you need to allocate ~20% free space, so that the drive wont suffer from performance degradation. hey, is that means if i have an 80GB SSD, to avoid performance hit,so if 80gb less 20% free space, actual can use until 64gb only, before taking a performance hit. then i can only format 64GB to use, then the other 16GB leave it unformat? |

QUOTE(alexilalas @ Aug 21 2010, 01:39 AM) anyone know when Samsung F4 drives reaching Malaysia? i just planned to buy 2TB but now only i realized got old news say F4 launching in US on September. Should i wait? Is it worthy to wait? what difference does 3 platter make compared to 4 platter?? i guess 3 platter will consume less power than 4 platter. |
