in the morning i notice, when the engine just started, still cold, white fumes will come out from the exhaust. Is this normal for a new honda city?
*
white fumes? Correct me if I am wrong but that is the sign of water humid in your ekzos. This usually happen when you cold start the car. Especially after rain or in cold places.

according to my fren.....early in the morning if ur car has the sign of water humid, it is a good sign to show that ur engine is in good condition......
if u wan to test it, after start ur engine early in the morning, put a piece of paper at the ekzos there...this is all according to my fren, and i cannot confirm how true it is.... doh.gif

Hi All, I guess it would be good if we can all share our problems faced in the NHC so that others could have ideas on them if they do face the same issues.

1) Aircond idling too frequent/loud especially when the car is not moving
SC: It's normal, idling is not so frequent when car is moving & as long as there's no sound like tik-tak tik-tak
2) High rpm when car starts up in cold
SC: It's normal if it's between 1-2k rpm & as long as it drops down to the normal idling rpm within couple of mins
3) Rear bumper out of alignment
SC: Can be fixed but only by selected SC, the SA provided me 3 names but yet to get it fixed
4) When open boot, alarm not triggered/no sound
SC: Fixed/adjusted
5) Car swayed to left/right when travelling above 90kph or when passing thru bus/lorry
SC: Fixed by doing alignment/balancing
6) Car feels very floaty when travelling above 100-110kph
SC: Fixed after 1k service (not sure is after alignment/balancing is done or they readjust my tyre pressure to be lower)
7) Driver side tweeter out of alignment/pop up - push it back & it's fixed at the position now. Suspect this happens when the SA tears out the plastic sheets on the door panel when I took my car
8) Car pickup rough
SC: Try to use RON97

I just discovered 4 more issues:

1) All 4 discs are rusty including the surface (see picture 1)
2) Water spray on windscreen not spraying at the right place - tried to adjust but not working
3) Driver side panel loose/out of alignment (see picture 2) - this is definitely not normal as the passenger side is fine
4) Front mud guide is loose (see picture 3 & 4) - is this normal?

Not sure whether above can be fixed sad.gif

1.) It is that the compressor that running during idle and hence causes the noise, dont tell me there is a car that has a compressor that dont produce noise.

2.) mine is usually 1k and will drop in a min time if its too cold out there. btw, this dont bother me at all, as long as it is not too far to abnormal.

3.) Rear bumper - as i mentioned, this is normal, out of 10 maybe i can see 9 cars are like this. including mine.

4.) This is the case for accord and civic too, just tell your SC to connect the wire will do. or you can DIY.

5.) Car sway - yours is fixed, but i feel mine is relatively stable even doing 120. so... for this size's sedan, this is the case for my friend's vios too. so if u want a very good stability or equivalent, get a bigger sedan as this size's sedan dont suit your needs. try camry, accord, M6, 5 series and so on. U might need a bigger car.

6.) as above, some might suggest you to install UR bars and it does help, but i reckon u might need a bigger car again.

7.) No comment on this, it dont happen to mine or any that i know of.

8.) Car pickup rough? yeah try Ron97 and upgrade your engine oil to semi-syn or fully syn. mine is now better after upgraded to semi-syn after doing my 5k service and doing better than previous mineral oil.

Your additional issues.

1.) Please see if whose car disc is not rusty. don show me a new car that just come out from the factory.

2.) Consult your SC.

3.) Yeah not normal. send it to your SC and get it fixed.

4.) Try tightening the nuts on the mud flap. Or suggestion - install bodykit brows.gif

my POV, u might have gotten the lemon's car, sorry bout that.

Have you test drive the car before purchasing?

I notice you only grudge about the car ... I have never seen you giving some positive comments on the car at all.
it is quite obvious that you dont like the car much, maybe u should considering changing car? No offense.

My motto: Be grateful for what you have. smile.gif

Every morning when I start my car, the RPM will shoot up till 1800. I think it's perfectly normal. When it's hot, it will only go up till 1k.

Hi tehoice, thanks for your lengthy reply to each of my problem. I think you misunderstood my purpose of posting my car's problems. It's just for sharing purposes & not to hit out at NHC. I love my NHC & I love to drive it more & more as day goes by as the engine is becoming smoother & smoother after the break-in period. Yes, I do feel that I get a poorer than normal QC NHC. What to do, I guess it's luck!! As long as those issues can be resolved, I'm ok with it. I'm praying besides all these QC issues, nothing is faulty on the engine. So far I didnt notice any though (*touch wood*).
In summary, I just didn't expect so many QC problems on my NHC. Well again, its my luck sad.gif

It's perfectly normal. NHC is just a more ''sensitive'' model. That's all tongue.gif

There's more complaint in 5G compared to 4/4.5G. I wonder why rclxub.gif

Added on September 10, 2010, 9:22 pmBtw, guys. Just to share my experience after driving both the 4G and the 5G. Yes! The pickup is a bit rough in 5G. But trust me on this. Just step on the accelerator. It's rough because of the close ratio between the 1st and 2nd gear. POWER STARTS COMING IN 3rd.

You will be amazed of the pick up. It's even better than the 4G. I just tested on both car side by side.

Like tehoice said, Be grateful for what you have. Nothing is perfect. You need to find a balance between FC and power. That's all icon_rolleyes.gif

Anyone experienced some weird sound from the car (not engine though) when hitting 170 ~ 180km/h ??

Some high note "biiiiii" sound coming from the car (a little vibration too)when I was accelerating 180km/h from Seremban to KL.

vTEC. Some of you might disagree with this. But the power in after 3rd is greater in 5G. At first the 4G was in advantage, but after awhile, the 5G was leading 1 car away. Well, but there's always flaw in all these comparison (driver, launching etc). Anyway, what I'm trying to say is that. 5G pick up is not as rough as people thinks smile.gif

no doubt NHC pickup is abit slow....but when 3rd gear come in, the car start flying edi......but the pickup is not a problem as most of the time is city driving and not racing, so the steady pickup = not that much fuel burn during pickup..... laugh.gif

my poor NHC backside got bang by dunno which ******* who dunno how to drive 1 when i park my car somewhere......few scratches on by body kit and the a little bit damage right below the number plate there.... doh.gif

Pickup is important especially if u do alot of city driving cuz you need to stop alot and when you step on the gas, you wan to be able to blast away.
