For the past week of driving my NHC, I've been experiencing some sort of jerkiness for the 1st and 2nd gear shifting whenever I accelerate with 2000 rpm or below.

The car just doesn't feel smooth when it's accelerating in slow speed. The auto transmission just seems like confused of staying with 1st gear or shifting to 2nd gear.

Anyone experience something similar?
*
Yes bro,the car is naturally jerky.Have been experiencing this for the past 1 year since i got the car.Now after doing 45k kms,the car is still like that.

No choice lor, have to live with it.... sweat.gif

Just wanna ask,i was going around 180km/h then suddenly a car moved in front of me.So no choice i had to brake quite hard.

But as i braked, the pedal is vibrating and the whole dashboard is literallly moving from left to right(vibrating also)..

Is this normal or wat? I feel the brakes are not too good..

u drive so fast the car not shaky meh? i drove more than 120km/hr already found that the car ish very shaky, 140km/hr ish the max i can speed for a short while only......... sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif  sweat.gif
*
nopez....not shaky at all at 180km/h..just that when i presss the brake slightly hard ,then its vibrates like mad!!

When i am at 140km/h i feel the car is slow.Mayb i am used to it lah cause i travel alot.

But maybe it could be due to the fact that I have fixed 5 C-tech stablizer bars on the car.So its more steady at higher speeds.

All those accessories I think your SA will get from outside also...RM 2.8k for leather alone is exp lah.Outside can be done for RM 2k at Gosford leather in Kuchai Lama.Very good quality.

yo guys ~ just got my strut bar ~

1. front strut bar
2. 4 point lower arm bar
3. rear anti roll bar
4. rear strut bar

wonder what the feel when install all these 4 bar XD
*
Theres alot of difference.I installed 5 bars in total. All of urs including one more. Not sure which one though.Did you put a bar in the boot?

After fixing the bars, the handling and cornering improve tremendously. After that i realise how teruk the stock handling is..lol..

Anyway,be careful when you are carrying people and go over humps, very likely that you will scratch the bars..i kena few times d..

From my experience...

Shell RON95 gives me better mileage than Petronas RON95. What are your experiences?
*
Imo, petronas ron95 feels smoother and better fc but slightly less power.

Shell ron95 engine feels rough and higher fc but more power.

So depends on what you want.

Well,I think I can't make it for the 3rd point,is it car problem?? Cuz when i drive around 100 km/h my rpm already reach 3000 smtg and I noticed when I start up the car,the engine sound was loud compare to Vios? Some more, the fuel comsuption quite high for me.........9.2 average mileage.......Should I tell to the service or is it normal?? Gonna bring my car to 1st service this Saturday~~~
*
I think when u say ur driving at 100km/h,your still pressing the gas pedal hard right? Thats y u see the RPM at 3000 ..but if you just let it cruise at 100km/h,RPM shud be about 2100

Not bothered.Hahaha..

Engine still working perfectly well after all the hard thrashing and over revving at 190km/h..

Japs still make very reliable cars..

Hi Calvin, are you sure? I thought the new City pickup is quite bad (from standstill). That are the comments I heard from quite a few ppl who drive the new City. I will get my car next week hopefully smile.gif
*
Yes the city pickup is quite bad frm standstill.feels rough and noisy. But once reach 60 kmh onwards better d lah.

Gearbox can be jerky at times.

Suspension is better thn previous city in terms of stiffness. But due to tht stiffness, ride quality is super duper bumy. Seriously, every single bump can be felt.

But my no1 complain of this nhc willl b the very inconsistent engine.

It can be brilliantly smooth and powerful atoday. Then tommorrow, it will feel sluggish, and rough.

You hv to drive it long enough to exp this.

So no choice, bought the car, hv to try to live with it..

Oberall the nhc is a very average car after 1year with the car. Previous city engine definately nicer n smoother to drive.

waaa... im getting my car next 2 week... now i need to rethink back whether to proceed or not huhu....

at first i thought NHC 5G will be better than previous one in all aspect.... aiyo2.... now im wrong...
*
Haha, just dont put so much hope on it,then maybe you will find it to be a decent car.If you put high expectations, you will be surely disappointed.

QUOTE(franson @ Aug 16 2010, 04:04 PM)
agree with ur statement. my gf rather choose her myvi back to drive instead of my NHC when i exchanged my car with her for a week. she commented this kind of "emotional" engine better let me to control it  doh.gif

kevin, if given a chance, would u go for NHC again?
hmm... for me, i will say a big NO. at the moment, a bit feel like selling it off to others to control this "emotional" engine. rather get a simple vvti Brand T engine or the worthy Forte better..
*
Haha,if given a chance i wont buy the NHC again..haha thats for sure.Somehow after 1 year with the car already, still cannot feel satisfied with it.Not like my previous myvi,i drove it for 1 month onie and i was super satisfied.Still not satisfied with the City though..its a jack of all trades, but master of none..

Besides the NHC looks,i think thats all that is good about the car lor...

Engine- so so ..neither here nor there..I-vtec is WEAK.No torque at low end.Go up hill is a nightmare in D mode.Definately have to use S-mode.
On the good side, its smooth and quiet at high speeds. > 80km/h
Gearbox- Always unsure which gear to engage in d mode.Sometimes change when its not suppose to change, sumtimes never change when its supposed to change. Its like you put a 10 year old kid in a university.
Handling- Stock handling ok ok onie, after i fixed 5 Ctech bars then onie became better
NVH- Ok when new,but after 1 year become teruk, now i close all the windows when motor pass by can hear as though my window open..zzzz
Interior and exterior design- Nicest part of the car
Steering feel- Nice to hold and drive
Suspension-hard like batu!! Go over bumpy road is a nightmare.Even on smooth highway, can feel those minor bumps.Annoying lorr
FC-Lousy in city driving,Ok on highway driving if no hard revving.Rev a lil,and it will be bad
Seats- Ok lah,not too hard, not to soft
Driving Visibility- alot of blind corners so becareful
Turning Radius- Excellent. Can turn tight corners with ease
Boot- Big and spacious
Interior built quality -so so,when new it was very quiet but now after 1 year d,got rattling and squeaking sound when drive over uneven road.

Overall every car has its pro and cons, but this City has too many cons liao.I am not asking for a perfect car, just a decent car.

PLanning to sell this car maybe in a year or two.

But Forte of course is worst than city lah tongue.gif .Forte engine feels no pick up and "Kasar"..and the steering feel is bad in my opinion lah...

If given a choice again,i will get the pug 308 turbo without a doubt!! thumbup.gif thumbup.gif

I'm gonna change the rims when I'm back from my trip.
I think the heavy rim is part of the reason why the fuel consumption is so high.

Yeap, thts one of the reasons. Another reason wud b the heavy chassis. 15 inch wud suit this car better

Huh? Are you sure?  hmm.gif
It's uphill. Isn't it obvious you need to pump more fuel to get the car moving? And pumping more petrol means higher FC.
*
It depends lah. How well u chg gear in s mode and hw you press the gas, its always better to press hard than to press slowly which will drink up ur gas.

But in d mode, it seriously drink alot wei goin uphill!

wait for after second service. The performance will start kicking in. Mine now can pickup much better already. But nothing much can be done on the FC cause it's different gearbox system. Don't expect to get the FC of the previous gen city. You want better FC then drive with super light right foot. Sure can get good FC.

Added on August 30, 2010, 11:46 amI also have this on my bumper. Mine have more scratch than yours. I didn't even know until I send it to SC and the service guy told me. Must have been scratched by some hit and run mofu.

Anyway, I don't wanna fix it yet...collect more first then only fix....hehe...
*
That scratch is very minor. Last time my car was just 1 month old, this fella use key scratch my car from front till bck. If u kena tht, u really can cry d. Deep long scratch summore..
