JOE COLE and Michael Ballack were last night released by Chelsea.

England World Cup star Cole turned down Blues' offer of £90,000 a week because he wanted parity with the club's top stars, who are paid up to £150,000 a week.

Negotiations collapsed and Chelsea have finally withdrawn their offer, so Cole, 28, can go on July 1.

German midfielder Ballack, 33, is also leaving the Double winners.

He had wanted a one-year extension to his existing deal but once again Chelsea refused to meet his demands as the club attempt to impose a strict new pay code.

SunSport revealed Cole held a meeting with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger before flying to South Africa for the World Cup.

Tottenham chief Harry Redknapp - who gave Cole his big chance at West Ham - has also publicly stated his desire to sign the midfielder.

why the f*** does cole demand more wages...damn....we lost a creative player...and most importantly an English player(1 player lost in quota).....but in the end of the day its his decision....do he think other clubs apart from chelsea can match £90,000 a week???

on ballack: no comment..we dont need him..tired legs...

Joe Cole. Umm, I don't think he worth that high wages.
Ballack, he's a good player, but his temper and his age, time to release.

hmmm. it would be great if coley stayed but if he doesnt wanna give in to the club, i guess letting him go is alright. players like kakuta and stoch would be raring to go now that there is a slot in the right midfield. i wouldnt worry too much about losing a creative player. its the best chance for the next player after john terry to break into the first team.

yeap. to be honest, bally is getting really old and you never know which of these coming seasons he is just going to be extra luggage on the squad. its cruel but it would be the best for the club to let go of players who has past their prime.

hmmm, there are many clubs that think they can revive the old joe cole. bring him back to his best. its when i think of this that we're losing a precious player. but then again, we tried and it did not work.

i wonder where will joey end up if he leaves.

joe cole and michael ballack leave chelsea. what a loss but again, if it's good for the club then some sacrifices should be made. all the best for both of them with their new respective football club next season...

yup..its fair for joey as well..he struggling with fitness recently, being the bench warmer, not giving much impact n just inches away from not making the final 23 for the WC..but that is how living in the top club, the expectation is high..So instead paying his demand which should be invest on other development thing, its better to him n the club to say farewell..

Its a bitterness that i personally need to swallow..

"hes there hes there
hes every f*ckin where
joe cole! joe cole!"

From my vantage point, I reckon Joey Cole would be signing in for Manchester City,

as they have expressed interest on the attacking midfielder/winger.

I reckon jcole at 28 want a guaranteed 1st team football rather then just high wage. I don't think he can really cement a place in Chelsea 1st eleven. Not because he is not good , but others are ahead of him.

Too bad we can't make a profit off him.
Thanks joe cole for your service to Chelsea.

Matic and Stoch? Not so soon. I think there will be surprises in store for us after the WC 2010, in transfers. Chelsea has been prevalent in most of the rumours already, if you ask me.

hmmm. yeah you might be right about matic, but i believe that stoch might replace joey. sharing the spot with another experienced right winger, kalou maybe?

i personally think we have enuff winger already..if we go 4-3-3

Malouda-Drogba-Kalou/Anelka

so, it means we need to replace Ballack position..Deco might leave as well, so maybe bring someone like Sneijder in..or Kaka..it is not impossible..Roman, Carlo n co must have plan something BIG..otherwise, they dun let the trio go..

Well first of all I’m quite impressed by how everyone’s so calm in handling our recent departures laugh.gif . I guess most of us are in agreement that it was the right time for them to go.

Has anyone else read about bally’s agent claiming his willingness to accept a 1 year deal on reduced wages? A bit strange that we didn’t take up the offer if this turns out to be true. However I applaud the management’s quick and decisive actions, if this was only about wages all along. We really are heralding in a new era, where astronomical paychecks are only given to the truly deserving. Considering the fact that carlo and wilkins had already expressed their desire to maintain joey’s services, I’m waiting to hear the player’s side of the story, after reading on vitalchelsea that he’ll ‘lift the lid’ about what went on during negotiations, after the world cup. hmm.gif

Now the lads in our reserve and youth squad will be filled with that little bit more of optimism, and this rings especially true for kakuta, stoch and matic. I’m happy for them, yet still sad we’re bidding our final farewells to joey, bella and bally. All the best to them and here’s to the future!

Aw13, I thought its like that every season biggrin.gif

extremely important year ahead for stoch imo. Wonder if his 'demands' for first team football next season had anything to do with joey's departure.

it might. stoch must have been doing very well during his loan, yes we've seen short previews but im sure the coaches watch the full games. joey would have easily accepted if he really wanted to stay at Chelsea but i guess maybe he wasnt offered? i like joey, but honestly he hasnt been at his best and a rare glimpse of magic here and there isnt enough to win titles.

True. Those rare glimpses are one of the reasons he isn’t in carlo’s first choice eleven. I wish there was some way we could guarantee he’ll be in blistering form for chelsea next season, but evidently that’s not the case and the board have opted for the obvious solution. Stoch’s successful loan spell means he’s at the top of his confidence now.

Like hidzwan said, chelsea definitely have some big plans in store. What’s most interesting is waiting to see how much money and youth promotion will be involved.
While I hope to see a bit of both, it certainly is a bad idea to go crazy on either one. Too many youngsters thrown into the mix too soon, and we risk being stuck in ‘transition’ for years. I’m sure nobody wants to see us become arsenal 1.5, while splashing too much cash will mean alienating our developing prospects.

COMMUNITY SHIELD 2010
QUOTE

The FA has announced that this year's Community Shield will see double winners Chelsea take on Premier League runners up, Manchester United, at Wembley on Sunday 8 August at 3pm.

The annual season curtain raiser is a repeat of last year's Community Shield which saw Chelsea win 4-1 on penalties after a 2-2 draw in normal time to give Carlo Ancelotti a winning start in the Stamford Bridge hotseat.

Almost 86,000 fans attended that match with The FA distributing all proceeds to nominated community and charitable projects across the country.

Ticket prices for the game haven't changed since 2006 and are priced at £40, £30, £20 and £15.

Selling details will follow.

i just checked out their website, lo and behold stoch's smiling picture was at the top of their page......someone please tell me this is just a mean prank on chelsea fans...what the hell are we doing? still awaiting for official news from our site, but nothing's up yet. this is insane..
i'm disappointed. i truly am. but it does seem like we're going for someone big here. or am i being too optimistic? this is chelsea fc after all. maybe we got confused which club di maria plays for? tried to do a player plus cash deal then suddenly realising we've got the wrong team..huhu sweat.gif

OMG! They're selling the most promising youngster current chelsea ever produce. Dem i thought he is going to be huge here in london. I don't see the point of having to let go a national team player. Age 20 somemore, this is insane. hope CA have something really good on his mind about all this overhaul thing. Just don't let go other good young player. I pray for that.

I maybe not post here a lot, but having to know about this news really give me a heartache.

Why all assuming CA's the one letting go of Stoch? Maybe Stoch wants to leave? Another case of being impatient maybe? Can't wait for another season on the bench/on loan?

Follows the footsteps of all our youngsters who have now gone to seek pastures anew at foreign grounds. Pity actually, I'd like to see the next JT who bided his time and became a stalwart later.

IMHO, this is like a sudden transfer that maybe been fixed even before the season's over. The guy is playing very well at eredivisie. Uhuhuhu, just my opinion eh.
But yeah, maybe aw13 is right, there's prove, everywhere chelsea young player go prematurely, things gone bad for them

From the list provided by madfag, I don't mind Pato actually. Problem is, he may be too lightweight for the EPL, something like Kalou.

Suarez, Schweinsteiger and Hamsik also catches the eye, and they are mature enough having played European matches as well as play consistently in the other European leagues.

Pato need to start eating more nasi lemak and going to gym to put in some muscles.

At the beginning of CR7 career, he was somehow lightweight as well. If Pato can adapt to EPL style, surely he's going to be one of the best player in the world, given that Chelsea bought him smile.gif

what the likes of kalou and pato needs is protein. its impossible to fend of EPL defenders with the weight they are at right now. i've read in a magazine that anelka does weight training mainly to fend of defenders but of course he doesnt wanna get too big and slow himself down. kalou has been with us a long time but he hasnt grown bigger one bit.

i dont know if you guys remember but it was really hilarious when he wore his kit over a bomber jacket during our EPL celebration. LOL laugh.gif

Well personally i think KALOU and MALOUDA have improve greatly on their body strength compare when they were just here. Especially MALOUDA he can now dribble and hold player back while playing in the middle of the field.

But selling of STOCH is most probably the player wanted to go, ROMAN surely dont need to sell to buy. Just hope there is a BUY BACK CLAUSE in his contract.

If he wish to leave for a first team football, who are we to stop him. Let us wish him all the best for his future undertaking, that would be making more sense.

be warned, bayern are hardline negotiators. with the kind of money they demand, it'll be safer to go for someone like james milner. proven and probably cheaper. look at how much they squeezed utd for hargreaves. and that's for a player who spends most of his time in the treatment room!

QUOTE(aw13 @ Jun 11 2010, 10:49 AM)
Why all assuming CA's the one letting go of Stoch?  Maybe Stoch wants to leave?  Another case of being impatient maybe?  Can't wait for another season on the bench/on loan?

Follows the footsteps of all our youngsters who have now gone to seek pastures anew at foreign grounds.  Pity actually, I'd like to see the next JT who bided his time and became a stalwart later.
*
it may be possible he was the one looking for a move. but the thing is, perhaps we could've fought a little harder to keep him? this is where we wait with baited breath to see what the management has planned. at the moment though, it looks a bit worrying with all the exits, and no arrivals. sweat.gif

QUOTE(madfag @ Jun 11 2010, 12:10 PM)
what the likes of kalou and pato needs is protein. its impossible to fend of EPL defenders with the weight they are at right now. i've read in a magazine that anelka does weight training mainly to fend of defenders but of course he doesnt wanna get too big and slow himself down. kalou has been with us a long time but he hasnt grown bigger one bit.

i dont know if you guys remember but it was really hilarious when he wore his kit over a bomber jacket during our EPL celebration. LOL laugh.gif
*
pato does look really lightweight. some gym time can change that. his injury problems are a concern though. but yeah kalou refuses to get bigger. maybe its his metabolism..and who could forget that 'fatsuit' he was wearing! and the way he punk'd yuri just as the russian was about to hold the FA Cup trophy..priceless tongue.gif

I'm sure the Management has done all that they could, we are def not privy to the negotiations, so let's not jump to conclusions shall we?

And yes, I'm sure Management would have something lined up to appease us Chelsea fans. 4 outs and more to follow (without transfers inwards) seems odd, especially when it's the season to defend our titles.

hmm yeah we have to assume they did their best. i guess the initial shock of losing a player i practically hyped up all season long, hasn't dissipated completely blink.gif someone mentioned a buyback clause earlier, sure hope we have one of those inserted! four out already, and bruce buck was talking only about 2 - 3 exits. looks like he's waaay off the mark. i wonder if he'll be wrong about the number of arrivals too. icon_idea.gif

I want to talk about transfer...I dont care!! Hahaha..

Now we got a massive hole on the right..RW and RM..even CM/R already gone..

So the dream vanished...the dream to see Stoch on the right flank and Kakuta on the left...

If Carlo decide to play 4-3-3 then we got a few heavyweight signing...If he play 4-diamond-2 one RM is enough...

well, not everybody can show off their talent at a young age. without experience and a strong mentality, talent will be overshadowed. it takes time but its good to see young players coming in more often.

it certainly would be great if someone graduated into our first team, but it does take lots of time and patience. with regards to how things are going on now, only outstanding talents will have an outside chance of making it through imo. (COME ON KAKUTA AND BORINI!! tongue.gif )

anyway, what's everyone's take on the david silva rumours? franky, i have to say i like them. huhu

it might still not be official but its getting close and i think its going to materialize. we are going sign a 30 year old with a 4 year deal. whats going on, i dont really know. yes, he might be 1 mil cheaper than deco at 7 mil but common. another old man in the team?

welcome Yossi "the diamond" Benayoun!

getting a bit shifty as i read the news as well. nothing official yet, but it mostly points to the fact that we've secured our marquee signing. and its...its...yossi benayoun. laugh.gif oh well...i expect him to be cover for the first team anyways. we did lose joey, bally and bella after all. a replacement for bella, me thinks!

The transfer of bennayoun involves 7m fee plus 80k a week salary (same with joe cole salary). Is this a better choice instead of giving a 30k rise to cole? Furthermore, bennayoun is 30, and he get a 4 years deal..

IMO, the 7m fee is ok for a UTILITY player of that age. But the length of the deal as well as the wage is too much..

I said a utility player because we need a replacement for joey, ballack and belletti and i think bennayoun can replace all of them. 3 in 1

I believe in Ancelotti decision and for bennayoun, welcome to chelsea and make yourself at home!!

ps-I still hope this is only a rumor though...

i still wonder why are we going for these old players. why dont we use the 7 mil for a younger better player? i cant really say getting benny is a bargain because of his wages too.

if he comes, i hope he can be better than he was at liverpool. i do like his dribbling though.

no worries madfag, you can still buy at Al-Ikhsan BB Plaza, their stock should come in soon too. maybe by end of the week.

the thing with Coley is that his salary increment was not really justified by his performances, thus to the management 30k increment for a player who barely played last season looked unwise. and also, maybe they did offer Coley the same contract as per Benayoun i.e. 80k for 4 years, just that Coley turned that down.

80k for a squad player is just about correct IMO. and we do need the replacements in midfield seeing that all 4 who left are midfielders.

as for squad numbers, i'd think Benayoun would not get the 7 maybe some other bigger numbers.

keep an eye out for Thurs, fixture list announcement!

you're right about Joey not justifying the salary he was demanding. i guess it would make more sense to sign benny with that amount of weekly wages.

benny 4! lol.

im still waiting for a big signing now that stoch has left though. a big young signing.

here also hoping the yossi news is just another rumor. just like aguero news on the soccernet not long time ago. lol.

Slovakia game tonight is actually one of my most waited match in this year world cup. but since Stoch is already out (get over it, get over it!), i just gonna enjoy watching both stoch and hamsik, especially, play and rip NZ a new a** hole, see if he can equal or exceed the one we'd lost. LOL!

it's better for chelsea to sign luis suarez, marek hamsik or mesut ozil. they are young and all of them are fantastic players...

i think the main focus will be RM or RW..or a player that can play both...cuz...we got a considerable big hole there....Yossi?? as backup i dont mind but..better backup with Joey(still cant let go) or Stoch( the same here )...heheheh

Ozil is possible..but still hard..Breman will hold him tight...

Diego from Juve..
Milner from Aston Villa...
Ireland from ManCity...( this one is quiet good..a fallen heroes...)

i cant agree more. those horns are seriously annoying and they go on and on. i dont know about being there with those horns but watching the tv with those horns blowing really sucks. fifa should definitely ban that damn thing. lots of fans are beginning to wear noise canceling headphones if any of you have noticed.

IT'S OFFICIAL!
BREAKING NEWS: Official: France Striker Nicolas Anelka Axed From Les Bleus
The prolific striker will leave South Africa tonight...

By Luis Mira
Jun 19, 2010 5:32:00 PM
Share

France striker Nicolas Anelka has been ordered to return home, the French Football Federation (FFF) has confirmed.

The Chelsea frontman had been in doubt for the remainder of the World Cup following reports of a verbal attack on coach Raymond Domenech during half-time of Thursday's 2-0 defeat to Mexico.

Anelka missed France's training session this afternoon, which intensified rumours that he could be ditched just three days before Les Bleus' final group match.

FFF vice-president Christian Teinturier had claimed that Anelka would be expelled from the squad if the reports were true, and the French football body has now confirmed the decision.

"The comments made by Nicolas Anelka against the national coach Raymond Domenech are totally unacceptable to the FFF, the French football and the values they uphold," an FFF statement read.

"Informed late on Friday evening of the serious incident during half-time of the match between France and Mexico, the federation's president, Jean-Pierre Escalettes, asked Nicolas Anelka, in the presence of captain Patrice Evra, to officially apologize to the French people and to rue his remarks before Raymond Domenech, the staff and 23 players of the French national team.

"Upon the player's refusal to issue a public apology, Escalettes made the decision, in full agreement with the coach and members of the French delegation in Knysna, to exclude Nicolas Anelka from the group.

"The player will leave France's camp this evening."

France are sitting third in Group A on just one point, with Les Bleus taking on South Africa in their last World Cup group match.

David Silva craves Chelsea move
Spain winger David Silva says "the Premier League is the place to be" - and has set his sights on a move to Chelsea.
The Valencia star, currently on World Cup duty, has been linked with a number of Barclays Premier League sides, among them cash-laden Manchester City and arch rivals Manchester United.
But he has implied he would pass up a move to the north-west should West London come calling.
He said, in comments reported by the Daily Star: "Chelsea have established themselves as one of the best clubs in Europe over the last five years.
"They might not have the history of Real Madrid or AC Milan but they are creating their own history now. There is no reason why in the future Chelsea can't be as decorated as Real Madrid.
"Chelsea probably have, along with Barcelona, the best squad in football and if any player joins Chelsea he knows he is going to win things.
"In players like John Terry, Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba they have players who would get into any team in the world and it would be a pleasure to play with them.
"There is no doubt in my mind that Chelsea would be a great club to play for - and a club where I could fulfil my ambition of league titles and the European Cup.
"The Premier League is still the place to be, no other league in the world has six or seven Champions League quality teams."

i prefer lampard on the left, and joey/ballack's replacement has to be on the right. so if silva does come, he will be on the right midfield.

the ashley lampard malouda combination cannot be broken!

kalou cannot be a regular starter due to his lack of consistency. unless he can pull a string of good performances, he still has to sit on the bench.

haha silva's astonishingly direct comments about chelsea has certainly peaked our interest in the player. He’s an amazing talent alongside mesut ozil, and I wouldn’t mind either of them. The Spaniard hasn’t shined thus far, but will start revealing his class soon I’m sure. Just checkout some of his vids with Valencia, and you’ll realize what a coup he’ll be if he chooses to make the trip to SW6. Left wing, right wing, or tip of the diamond, he’s good enough to make an impact on any of the given positions.

I don't mind both of them at all too, but doubts exist as to whether they fit into the EPL or not. Especially both are in the play-maker role, both have similar physique, etc.

Hopefully one of them would don the no 7 mantle, we need a good no 7 already. Maybe Ozil 10 and Silva 7 (since Kalou already has the 21).

hoho having both would definitely be overkill, so one will do just fine. Yes both seem to be small built, but remember the legendary zola was no muscleman either when he came to the bridge icon_idea.gif .Ozil only has a year left with Bremen, so he could turn out to be the cheaper alternative. But in the event it escalates into a bidding war, I do feel we’ll make a final offer and consider alternatives. Unfortunately, ozil hasn’t been as forthright as silva in where he’d consider playing, so we may concentrate on trying to nab the Mestalla man first!

Overkill? Nah. Better to snap both up to avoid falling into our opponent's hands! haha

But we do need subs though just in case one of them gets injured. Then we can have like for like.

Benayoun would be a good sub for any one of them as well though, so maybe you are right in getting any one of them, with Benayoun as sub then.

krk24's 4-5-1 formation definitely a no for me.
Kalou is good on Right Forward now. We should not put him back to midfield.
Obi Mikel position is abit out for me. Mark at that place won't work for me.

kalou is a versatile player, the MAIN reason he is not consistent is due to his lack of 1st team choice. ...i believe in him will do well if he plays week-in-out...my 4-5-1 can also be utilize as 4-1-4-1....
before we want silva to play for chelsea, WE MUST use our youngsters very well...dont always put them as bench warmer....i would say chelsea had many midfielders...so why not scout for other positions...perhaps defender, GK or striker....WE NEED AGUERO!!!!!and i would like to see (Vincent Enyeama) nigerian GK as our backup...he is damn good although 27 yrs old...

if enyeama decides tp join he will be 2nd/3rd choice keeper also... since both of our keepers are still in their 20s... n the age gap between them is not that large... chech 28, turnbull 25 n not to forget youngster taylor 20

we don't need any new goalkeeper at the moment. we should focus on buying a striker or midfielder. that's our priority right now...

Silva can play hole...we maybe revert to 4-diamond-2 again...but i still prefer 4-3-3..maybe i'm influenced by mourinho too much...hehehhe

Ai yo let it go la. Most Chelsea fans will know JT gives all in every game he plays, be it for England and Chelsea, and we should be grateful for that fact. As long as he is a Chelsea player, and it's Capt, that's good enough for me.

yeah im sick and tired of all those morons condemning terry. yeah he might be a little out of way at times like when there were rumors about him going to city. in the end he kept all our backbone key players in the squad and won the double. who did he do this for? Chelsea FC. hell, he could go to any other huge club and win championships, but he did it for us anyways.

yesterday's attempt at a second block, diving with his head really touched me.

there's only one England captain and thats JT.

mehh as expected most of the media and rival fans are taking this huge opportunity to take a swipe at terry and us. Doesn’t surprise me one bit. Not really interested in wasting energy replying to some of the ridiculous stuff that gets posted around other threads as this is off-season, and it should be a period of temporary ‘ceasefire.’ Well that’s my opinion anyway. Besides that it also appears that some people are trying hard to deflect attention from their own star players who have been utter pants for England. Do keep in mind there are certain quarters who still can’t get over the fact that we won the DOUBLE, and it's reflected in their posts. rolleyes.gif

Carlo knows how to utilize Anelka in his game plan.
It's shame that Domenech tried to play him as a lone striker for France which was not working. He should asked Carlo how to utilize Anelka

i guess we cant expect players who are still in the world cup to sign for us. are we waiting for there would be no big signings this season? with the departure of bally, joey and bella, we definitely should revitalize our squad with some players around their mid twenties, or at their prime.

i hope we can win the champions league next season.

I think City clinching Silva deal is just an indication that they cant get Torres.. And guess who's on the line for Torres? :sigh:

Already miss out Silva. Gervinho show some potentials. Should be considered too. For midfield, bring on Honda to raise Asia market.

like i said before....ozil and aguero it is! lol

ahh the clock is ticking. its the old chelsea habit of leaving things really really late when it comes to incoming transfers.
gervinho? when the ACN comes around he'll be gone along with a bunch of our best players. no thanks. next please.

Take the District Line, and get off at the Fulham Broadway stop. Once there, get out of the building proper and make a left. Keep walking on and you will reach the stadium on your left. You can't miss it la!

The Megastore is basically open every day of the week, so no worries there. Try to make it early though, as I think they close at 5pm/6pm IINM. If you want to go for the Stadium Tour, don't go on matchdays as it will be closed.

As for kits, try to go for the special ones, i.e. commemorative, etc etc. Go for normal replicas only if they are on sale, otherwise it's cheaper elsewhere. As for printing, Megastore uses PU (sticker) and it's smaller in size as compared to non-PU (which can be done locally anyway).

Enjoy, and do take a lot of pics! Esp with the 2 trophies! rclxms.gif

he mentioned ballack DIRECTLY. WOOT! tongue.gif
any chance gourlay has asked the german to have a little 'chat' with ozil on the phone? judging by the alleged 'silent treatment' chelsea gave him (according to his agent), i kind of doubt it. and what was it that silva said again? chelsea till i die? yeah something along those lines..before he joined city. laugh.gif

best case scenario is we actually have a couple of players signed up, but the players themselves have requested chelsea to delay any announcement, until after the world cup. vote best case scenario people! rclxm9.gif

i was thinking about something , ever since roman moved in on chelsea , ppl have been harking about how we bought our championships and whatnot, isnt it the same from the perspective of smaller teams that will not even hv the slightest chance of winning the championship ? small clubs look at the big clubs and they can say the same thing , hey u guys bought the titles, we dont hv money so we cant buy players like u do. u on the other hand can buy all the players that u want , provided the player wants to come to ur club.

so why do ppl make noise regarding how other club is spending ? when ppl say buy trophies, so which trophies did man city bought last season ? i think with the money spend they can buy the world cup even. right ? but no , they are not even in the champs league , not even in top 4 of their own domestic league, how can u say a team buy a trophy when they hv spend like a record spending for a season and not winning anything ? so where is the logic there ? is it when they only win something then only can say they buy the trophy ?

if buying trophy is true , man city is the champion of the universe last season. dont even get me started on real madrid. i dont hv to go that far to make ppl understand my point . right ? ( i hope so )

so the question is , why do ppl still talk about money , buy trophy and whatnot when they themselves are doing the same thing time and time again ? is it because the mentality of " only we can do it , if u do it , its bloody wrong and we will condemn it to hell " ?

i dont know. whats your take on this ?

I don't know what Ancelotti has in mind, but signing Yossi Benayoun on a 3 years countract sounds like a bad move if you ask me.

As revealed by Soccernet two months ago, Benayoun had been made one of Carlo Ancelotti's primary targets for the summer. And now the Israel international has put pen to paper on a deal thought to be worth around £5 million.

When CA brought us the double, can't you guys believe his decision making on selecting the players? I believe Benayoun have his qualities to offer during his days in Chelsea and I believe in CA and every Chelsea player in the squad. Time will tell and prove us if Benayoun is a bargain buy or flop.

I enjoyed every moment watching the pools when Benayoun was brought in last 20 minutes or so. He always eager to make an impact and sometimes he does make a difference because he can go from left to right. smile.gif He scored dramatic win against RM in CL round 16 in Bernabéu, score against Fulham on 94th minute to bring 3 points, Give the pools to draw against Arsenal in 4-4 scoreline.

Everytime he play for pools, he always show he has the eager to prove he is the one. (Let's not be bias and judge him as a player, not club nor nationality) I sees motivation in him where I don't see in Gerrard's body language while they were losing.

WTF?! WE SIGNED AN OLD MAN.

ohmy.gif Bad move. 5.5m. Any news about his salary then?
Bad move by Benayoun too. I think he can only sit on the bench.
I do not mean he's bad. but just we got many player like him already. We do not need him.
And still, if he do something miracle on our right wing position, I salute him.

i believe CA bought him because of his versatility. just think how many position he can play. left, right, middle.. furthermore, he already adapted to epl style, proven to have a heart of a winner. he will be on the bench if we didn't brought in any new young player but if we bring no one, the chance of him getting a good time in the first XI is quite high.

pros:
-utility player
-super sub -> can become match winner

cons:
-30 years old already
-salary is the same as Joe Cole salary which is 80k per week

Umm. Think again. His biggest pros is utility.
The salary is high man. Nevermind. Let's see his performance first.
I believe CA bought him because he worry later MC take all our target,Silva, Yaya already join MC.

Formation for our squad now:
Malouda-Drogba-Anelka
Lampard-Essien-Benayoun

Poor signing. You add another 30 years old player when many of current squad age 30 ++. This is BPL Ancelotti not Serie A when u can still use PAVALLI aGED 37 IN MILAN Squad.

heheh potentially lots of split opinions on our latest acquisition. for what its worth, dynames makes a lot of good points.
versatile, plays with his heart on his sleeve and quite a hard working player. he'll have more of an impact compared to joe cole. u heard it here first smile.gif on the same wages as our ex-player? even better news. keep in mind joey was looking for a hike in wages which was promptly rejected outright. well not outright, but u get the picture.

my verdict : a very good squad player. but people like kalou and mikel will not be sitting comfortably with his arrival, u can bet on that.
if they don't maintain a high level of performance, its their places which are under threat.

Well, another transfer news, not in, but out..

http://www.goal.com/en/news/11/transfer-zo...sea-misery-with

30M sounds a good deal for me... With Yuri already blending in squad, we can go for David Luiz or Coentrao after that.. Younger and hot prospect...

dont believe goal.com. its good to read for fun but most of the news are bullshit.

but anyways, if ashley really dont like it in england already, which i doubt, he can leave. yuri does have what it takes when he came in for ashley for a while last season. but of course i hope that ashley stays, he is still the best left back in the world for me.

Our next transfer target should depend on the formation Carlo want to play...

4-3-3..Then we should sign Bastian at least as CM...

4-Diamond-2 we should sign Silva..but we missed him..so Ozil..as the tip of the diamond...

if we cant get those players any young blood...then i dont really mind...

Did you guys won the league after spending close two 100m on players? You finished 2nd. And it was only ManUtd who was in a rebuilding process and Arsenal back then. City have it harder since they are further down the line a bit when they started spending. And this time there are better teams around. The big 4(Liverpool included), Spurs, Villa, Everton.. they're all strong this time. It will just be a matter of time though before they break into the top 4. Once that happens, they will only get better.

Think about it. If Roman had bought Leeds, Leicester or Wolverhampton who all went down in 03/04 instead, it would be a Leeds/Leicester/Wolverhampton thread here which would be more popular. It might have taken longer, but with the money being thrown around, it was only a matter of time, like City would show eventually. 100m a season, where before that you were struggling if I remembered correctly with Bates although you got good results in the league. That's what people mean by money->trophy especially with clubs that have a sugar daddy like Chelsea has. From out of nowhere, comes in a rich guy, buy players out of his own pocket money, and presto, you're the champion. Like I said, could easily bought any other side, and would make it a champion in no time. Arsenal, us, Liverpool, any other side buy players from our own pocket money almost. We spent within our means which we earn through whatever income the clubs generated themselves.

On the pitch, it's clear you guys are worthy of whatever successes you had and will have, but it will be forever be in the shadows of the ££ with Russian signature stamped on top of every trophy. Don't cry when people doesn't acknowledge you guys as worthy. The fact is, without Roman, you wouldn't have the same amount of successes over the last few years since he came. You guys just have to live with that reputation.

Did you guys won the league after spending close two 100m on players? You finished 2nd. And it was only ManUtd who was in a rebuilding process and Arsenal back then. City have it harder since they are further down the line a bit when they started spending. And this time there are better teams around. lol wtf with this post? suddenly got butthurted out of nothing. jealousy is so obvious.

did you not dream somebody can buy your club from the yanks? and if the answer is yes, why did such a dream come into your mind? it is because you realize the yanks are stupid owners who puts the club into great trouble with all the debts.

clubs need money, not only to strengthen the squad and to improve the facilities, but also as part of a re-branding process. football nowadays have become a big business and in order to get the profit, you need to invest first. roman bought chelsea because he see the potential of it to become a major brand; spend his money to buy players so that chelsea can won something. from winning, the club reputation will increase and indirectly will increase the revenue from shirt selling, merchandising and etc.

you can say anything you want. and you can twist everything to your likings. we did spend using roman money but look where it brings us to. and if i am not mistaken, we are on the verge for a break-even where all the money spends on players will come back to us through other channels.

i don't give a damn about what other fans think of chelsea. i wonder what will the reactions be if some sheikh buy the club from the yanks and start spending like mad (like what real madrid do)? will you say you guys already powerful and the investment is to make yourself stronger? bullshit! when other clubs is blessed with a fortune, you doesn't need to make that as an excuse to cover your club misfortune. its pathetic. please refer to my signature, everybody is a glory hunter. and as a matter of fact, it is from man u fans, surely you recognize him.

we are not born to this world with the knowledge to support which club. with our own logic and reasoning, we choose what is suitable for us.

actually, i quoted it simply because i agree with it.

we are not even born when our club was founded. even for the very first supporter, they don't even know whether the team can become the manchester united as we know today. we are human and inside ourself, we are all a winner. that is why we choose a club that can become a winner or have someone that behave like a winner. however, the meaning of a 'winner' is subjective and it is different from every human being and hence producing fans for different clubs.

rather than contemplating on the spendings of rival clubs, it is better for us, football fans to discus something more beneficial. today maybe its chelsea day with all the spendings. who knows at latter stage it will be yours. the bashing about spending will continue and never end.

IMO, let us keep the amount of spending an internal matters. after all, chelsea didn't stole any money from man utd to be used for acquiring new players. owners of the club should be considered as part of the big family. they are like father in the club. we are blessed with roman, not only from his money but also for the love that he have in chelsea.

You didn't get Wan's point. He meant we have sugar daddy to pump in the cash, whereas they spend the money from where they earn.

Yes but the difference is that we have RA to pump in the money, Man Utd does not.

yes. i do agree that Roman's spending has an impact on our success. but i strongly disagree with the phrase buying trophies. i havent been a football fan for a long time so i dont know the history of most clubs yet but i believe that trophies cant be bought. if trophies could be bought, we'd be winning the prem and champions league every season since Roman bought the club? Real spent loads of cash and they still ended up second, City spent loads and isnt even in the champions league. in this competitive era, it is next to impossible to actually grow your own homegrown players, buy cheap players and turn them into super stars and win major silverware. by the time players become good, one foot is already in the big clubs, how can a smaller club be successful? its indeed very rare especially during this era of football.

there. the conclusion is, we didnt buy the trophies. we won them with players that loves the club, an owner that loves the club.

it is natural business strategy actually, even big2 company also hunting for the great employees that can bring profit..u'll not guaranteed to be a successful person eventho u r raise in rich family, was sent to further studies in overseas, send to tuition somemore n etc2..might sounds awkward, but i try to make it as relevance as i can so that no more butthurted fans will come here n yelling their obtuse points..

true. everyone had to start somewhere, and most people chose a club based on whatever 'glory' they had or MIGHT have in the future. however there are also others who initially got hooked on certain players, was born in the vicinity of said club, or even became fascinated by the colour of their jersey. but in the future, everyone hopes for some measure of 'glory,' as nobody, i repeat NOBODY is ever genuinely happy the club they support ended a season without silverware.

the trophy buying allegations will forever be thrown about by rival fans, who are deluded enough to think their clubs have never spent a single cent on their way to success. they eagerly await and lap up whatever news they have on roman getting sick and tired of chelsea, and yet he's there almost week in week out at SW6, watching the majority of our matches at the bridge, cheering and celebrating like a REAL fan (not some cold, calculated and selfish businessman who can't tell the difference between football and ice hockey). the day roman calls it 'quits' never comes, while they keep reading news on their owners contemplating another huge loan and plunging their club deeper and deeper in debt. hence the reason for all the envy and hatred becomes clear.

now that we've lost bally and joey who are our main right midfielders, do you think benny will acquire the right midfield spot or will essien play alongside mikel and lampard.

benny might gradually make it his own, if mikel slips up. a mikel and essien combo does lack a bit of finesse imo. but i'd love to be proven wrong. in any case they can share game time so it shouldn't be a problem.

latest rumours concern a 23 year old brazillian named ramires from benfica, and porto's raul meireles. something new i suppose to keep us guessing. icon_idea.gif

yeah. mikel isnt very good if we're looking for a more offensive approach. i'd put essien in the holding midfield role that has the license to attack and benny on the right. again. assuming that everyone is fit.

i realy would like to see this line-up in our 1st pre-season match against crystal palace on 17th july:

cech (GK)

bosingwa (RB)
ivanovic (CB)
terry (CB)
a.cole (LB)
essien (DM)
lampard (CM)
bennayoun (RM)
malouda (LM)
kalou (2nd striker)
drogba (CF)

kalou can play behind drogba...and he can do the attacking as well and move left & right to give space for lampard to attack as well....i can see all players in this lineup are fast paced except terry...but its not an issue for our boys...HOPE WE HAVE ALL PLAYERS INJURY FREE....pray to GOD notworthy.gif

he's replacement for either Joe Cole or Ballack.. or Deco..

Benayoun will be in smaller salary and younger compare to those 3 (except Joe Cole is younger). he's lesser in term of talent but certainly have good scoring record, CL experience, etc and fitness -wise he's far superior than those.

he'll be squad player, not exciting, but still a sense buy by Ancelotti.. Joe Cole and Ballack's hefty salary will easily cover that 5.5 mil.

i do think that benny will easily fit in the squad and is an instant replacement for bally and joey but it definitely isnt for the long term.

he has the skills and experience. i havent seen him in his off days but his on form days can be quite terrifying. any liverpool fans care to share one of his off form days with us?

i think benayoun is an OK player

-he got that little bit of creativity that our team is missing

-he got experianced playing in champ league

-can play across the midfield

-he is only going to play for a few years maybe, before making way to gael kakuta

-he is like 3 in 1 player to replace joe cole, ballack and deco

*let pray that he is the only 30+ years old player that we signed this summer

well if king carlo wants long term success, he still has to breed the kids, if im not mistaken. he brought success to milan when all the seniors were still playing but when some of them retired, milan werent in very good shape.

he surely had a good world cup..

i would prefer the likes of kalou, sturridge, di santo, or borini to be given more first team chances / cup appearances..

i dont think we need to sign a striker at the moment...if somehow CA want to sign a striker, i hope its going to be Aguero

this is just my opinion..

benayoun is ok. he has the skill and talent to unlock defence especially in a close tight match. honestly, it's not a great buy but it's ok. as chelsea fans, we just have to trust with carlo ancelotti's plan for next season. hoping he will bring more signing especially those young blood that we badly needed right now...

German hints at Ozil move
QUOTE
The 21-year-old has been one of the star performers at the World Cup so far as Germany have progressed to the quarter-finals and it comes as no surprise to see him being linked with a move away from Werder Bremen.
Chelsea are thought to be in the hunt and the midfielder admits he would be tempted at a move to Stamford Bridge once Germany's participation in the tournament is over.
"The World Cup is all that matters at the moment," he revealed. "When I get back we can think about my future, but for now it's not something I want to give a lot of thought to. To the top players the Premier League is attractive.
"You look at what Manchester United and Chelsea have achieved over the last five years and you see it would be easy to be successful at two clubs like that.
"I see what Michael Ballack achieved at Chelsea and the quality of players he played with and the temptation becomes obvious. Trophies are what matters to me. There are two teams in England always at the top and of course that's attractive. But the same is true for La Liga.
"They're the strongest leagues in the world."

this might be a BS, i certainly hope the board will bring more young and talented player like Oezil.

thanks for the info ichi! I think if u didn’t mention it here, most of us will be in the dark as well. Even all the tabloids missed it, which is quite frankly, shocking.Brilliant spot mate!

I have to say I’m very impressed by the way we went about our business getting this young prospect. Only murmurs of his name a few weeks back, then everything went quiet. Suddenly he’s already on our books! Fantastic work by our scouts and negotiators in getting him in quietly without much fuss. This is the way we should conduct our transfer business, and I look forward to more aces up the management’s sleeves. Way to go chelsea! Mighty pleased with how this went down.

welcome~

about our goalkeeper i think it is better to offload Hilario..because our young goalkeeper on-loan will return soon..Matej Delač

between Matej Delač and Rys Taylor..i dont really know which one is better...one of them can fill the 3rd choice goalkeeper...

did anyone heard about Gokhan Tore? he's another promising youngster from the academy. there's something in common between him and Mesut Oezil. both are Turkish and born in Germany thumbup.gif he got pace, perfect dribbling skills and a very good finisher. and he's only 18. i dont want him to end up like Stoch...

i'd rather keep ashley and lampard than get kaka. he isnt at his prime anymore and gets injured every now and then.

who needs kaka when you have a midfielder scoring 26 goals and 19 assist.

yeap. josh would be the best lad to replace lampsy. the current crop of first team players are setting a very high standard for the youngsters. i just hope they are up to it.

looks like benny hasnt got a number yet looking at his training kit at cobham.

quite a number of first teamers are already in the training ground raring to go for next season it seems!

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has flown to South Africa to try to complete the signing of Fernando Torres, with sources telling Soccernet he is willing to pay up to £55 million.

Fernando Torres: On World Cup duty with Spain

Liverpool are believed to value Torres at around £70 million and refused to respond to speculation over his future until they had a new manager in place. Now Roy Hodgson has succeeded Rafa Benitez, he is evaluating the situation regarding five big-name stars at Anfield who are reviewing their own futures.

Torres has made it clear that he is focusing on the World Cup, but with the tournament drawing to a close, talks between all the interested parties are believed to be underway.

Barcelona are also reported to be interested but they are struggling to raise the funds. Torres himself is also unsure he wants to return to Spain at the moment.

A well-placed source told Soccernet: "Abramovich has authorised the bid of £50 million, and he's not expected to go much higher than that ... [but] I would think he might go to £55 million.

"Without any other creditable bidder, he sees no reason to go any higher. It's quite clear that Liverpool could get more from Manchester City, and the player could earn more from Manchester City, but the player doesn't want to go there. He wants Champions League football and the chance to win the major honours which he can do at Chelsea.2

The final cost were Torres to move to Stamford Bridge could top £100 million, as Chelsea will make the striker the highest paid player in the Premier League topping £200,000-a-week with his bonuses. A five-year contract would be worth £50 million to the player.

£40million Fernando Torres bid: Chelsea throw down gauntlet but Liverpool will want more

QUOTE
Chelsea have fired their opening shot in the battle to sign Liverpool's Fernando Torres by lodging a formal bid believed to be in the region of £40million for the Spain striker.

Roman Abramovich is ready to back manager Carlo Ancelotti all the way in his pursuit of his top summer target.
Fernando Torres

And although the Anfield club are likely to demand considerably more for their prized asset, Sportsmail revealed in May that the billionaire owner is ready to part with anything up to £70m for such a 'marquee signing'.

New Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has already admitted he can offer no guarantee that either Torres or skipper Steven Gerrard will be at Anfield next season. And given Liverpool's precarious financial situation, a concerted effort to sign Torres by Chelsea is likely to prove impossible to resist.
Roman Abramovich

Ironically, the striker is currently sweating on his place in Spain's starting line-up for tomorrow's World Cup semi-final against Germany with speculation rife that he i s to be dropped in favour of either Arsenal's Cesc Fabregas or Manchester City new boy David Silva.

Torres yesterday admitted he has not fully recovered from undergoing knee surgery in April.

Ahead of the last-four clash at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium, he said he was 'not at his physical best' after struggling for form since being in South Africa.

The striker has failed to score in Spain's five games so far and added he understands some of the criticism of him and that he has had his share of 'difficult moments'.

Meanwhile, Fabregas insisted he is eager to face the Germans despite suffering pain in his shoulder.

Fabregas revealed he may need a painkilling injection in his right shoulder to play tomorrow.

'It's painful but when you are up for it, it's fine,' he said. 'I am ready to get an injection to play. If Del Bosque needs me I'll be there.'

Taylor Completes Loan Move From ChelseaChelsea's young keeper Rhys Taylor has arrived on a two month loan deal at Gresty Road.

The move has been in the pipeline for the last few weeks after former second choice keeper Adam Legzdins departed the Alex for Burton Albion.

With number one Steve Phillips, who recently signed a two year deal at Gresty Road, also out for the opening games of the season, Dario turned to former Crewe boss Steve Holland, now Chelsea's reserve team manager, in the search for back up between the sticks.

Despite not yet making a first team appearance, the 20 year old is said to be highly rated in the Chelsea ranks having signed a new two year contract in November.

A Wales Under-21 international, Taylor made eight appearances for Chelsea reserves last season and spent two months on loan at QPR towards the end of last year though failed to make an appearance.

QUOTE(dynames07 @ Jul 4 2010, 10:24 PM)
lol wtf with this post? suddenly got butthurted out of nothing. jealousy is so obvious.

did you not dream somebody can buy your club from the yanks? and if the answer is yes, why did such a dream come into your mind? it is because you realize the yanks are stupid owners who puts the club into great trouble with all the debts.

clubs need money, not only to strengthen the squad and to improve the facilities, but also as part of a re-branding process. football nowadays have become a big business and in order to get the profit, you need to invest first. roman bought chelsea because he see the potential of it to become a major brand; spend his money to buy players so that chelsea can won something. from winning, the club reputation will increase and indirectly will increase the revenue from shirt selling, merchandising and etc.

you can say anything you want. and you can twist everything to your likings. we did spend using roman money but look where it brings us to. and if i am not mistaken, we are on the verge for a break-even where all the money spends on players will come back to us through other channels.

i don't give a damn about what other fans think of chelsea. i wonder what will the reactions be if some sheikh buy the club from the yanks and start spending like mad (like what real madrid do)? will you say you guys already powerful and the investment is to make yourself stronger? bullshit! when other clubs is blessed with a fortune, you doesn't need to make that as an excuse to cover your club misfortune. its pathetic. please refer to my signature, everybody is a glory hunter. and as a matter of fact, it is from man u fans, surely you recognize him.

we are not born to this world with the knowledge to support which club. with our own logic and reasoning, we choose what is suitable for us.
*
Err why would I be 'butthurt' when we have enjoyed as much success if not more? Have I dream someone other than the yanks bought our club? Sure if it means we won't be in so much debt. But what has that got to do with anything of the stuff related above? Talking about our misfortune blabla, and bringing up the glory hunter subject.. Looks like someone else got butthurt-ed huh?

So you agree that you enjoyed so much success because of Roman's money, which have been the point from the start?
Thank you.

Yes..we enjoy a good owner...owner that ready to help the club, invest..most of roman money used to rebuild the academy and other facilities for long term survival...not owner that trash the club into DEBT..Green and Gold?? Sama la ngan those yang ada dalam ini. If dorang takleh nak bezakan United, Pool, Arsenal ngan Chelsea, City ... then tak guna cakap ngan dorang. Nanti dorang come out with kita berperangai holier than thou.

That's why aku gelak je bila Chelsea nye fans panggil City nye fans buying trophy/[insert-appropriate-term-here].

Saying that, the oldies of Chelsea nye fans memang aku respect. Pre-Roman nye era. Or those yang baru but know about the club. Newer ones, takyah bother discuss ngan dorang. Nanti kuar butthurt, jealous. LOL.

i just think its friggin stupid for those so called seasoned fans to insult new fans like that. not all new fans only support the club when they are winning. its as though to say they are the only true genuine fans that love the club because they were fans since a long time ago. how is a club going to build fanbase if these kinda statements are given all the time. this is definitely butthurt.

besides, what pyro quoted is quite true. everyone starts as GH, although unless you're born in that particular town, usually you'd support the team there. the other day i went to the mychelsea clubhouse and there was a fan from UK born somewhere in newcastle, he said in the old days, there are only newcastle fans there, now, they;ve loosen up already. bloody hell which new supporter will bother to support westham and stick to them.

The point is being missed left and right . I don't mind it at all tho , typing on iPhone is hell, so I won't explain what is the real point of it all.

Typing jealous and butt hurt is easier.

i think it will be torres.carlo only get 25mil for spending unless torres is for sale.any price will not be a concern for abra.
and to think that abra want CL so much.he surely will buy some1 big as current chelsea squad wont cope with the new barca with villa at the left

Nah, I think Carlo been given more than that. 100M to the least, coz we havent spending much for the past 2 seasons and Carlo has been working with the existing squad that we have. Just imagine if Carlo can have his own choice of player, just like JM got.

Seems like Torres rumors might not just a rumor. I think the choice right now is in Torres hand.

Other than that, I think 1 more big signing would be just enough for us to compete in all competitions next year, including charity shield.

Remember, we do have a bunch of youngsters that needs to be polished. They might not ready for a big occasion, but they do need some time on the field.

torres, drogba and anelka up front. imagine the firepowah we'd have! i seriously dont mind torres coming but if liverpool wants a crazy prize for him, then its no thanks. we want him, but we dont need him. he should definitely come to us if he wants champions league football.

100 mil transfer 'warchest?' come on people...that kind of stuff doesn't happen anymore at the bridge. city have the biggest budget in the epl at the moment, and as a result we're less likely to secure big names. that's a fact. we could be forced to wait for them to conclude their spending, before moving on to our targets. that is if they haven't been snapped up yet!

the same applies for every other team in the epl actually. its the waiting game right now, and everybody's doing their utmost to avoid a bidding war with city. hmm.gif

most probably oezil as the new lamp.
mueller.tell me.where do u wanna put the new striker?
drogba stay.anelka for sure since chelsea just give him new contract.
do u wanna throw the in form malouda?or the rising kalou?
logically, unless one of those 2 go out.no striker goin in.or tell me the possible best formation to put all of them.

Muller is like Kaka = AM or second striker.

Ozil sometime very stingy with ball.

and Muller looks better tongue.gif

Don worry about formation, worry about how to get them 1st.

In my opinion, Muellar IS MUCH MORE BETTER than Ozil.
Or Maybe our CA can sharpen Ozil passing and dribble. That would be a legend for us.

I think it's fair to say that he doesn't worth 100m that much especially when he had a pretty poor run in World Cup.The price slapped on him was merely a move to prevent other clubs to bid for him.Anyway,I think 30m is a little too little for a player of his calibre. That's my opinion.

right now.i like chelsea to take the risk this season.let play with the same team.1 or 2 players add in.let put more youth player from our academy in.

if RA really want the CL.then i assure u we cant beat barca with the current crops

What worry me most was our midfield. We lost 3 experience player DECO, BALLACK, J.COLE and fullback BELLETTI. Our squad depth was significantly reduce. If LAMPARD and MALOUDA is out injured, no doubt MIKEL or MATIC can do a decent job but we lost the creative force to open up defense. But if CA is ready to give our youngster a chance then i will have no complain even if there is no more further signing.

Looking at the only new signing we have now, looks like CA might try 442 diamond again.

CECH
IVA TERRY CARV COLE
ESSIEN
LAMP MALOUDA
BENNY
DROG ANELKA

TORRES ? AGUERO ? LUKAKU ? i will pick LUKAKU > AGUERO > then only TORRES. LUKAKU and AGUERO have clearly stated they would like to play for us and due to their young age they can afford the time to stay 3rd choice striker. TORRES is overprice, some sort injury prone, just wanna find a way out of LIVERPOOL, having 3 star striker and 1 on the bench is gonna have conflict. But of course TORRES will be the safest buy since he have proven good scoring record in EPL already.

imagine the future.

we play 3 up front,

sturridge on the left, lukaku in the middle and borini on the right! woohoo!

kakuta and josh as attacking midfield while matic provides the back 4 some assurance.

ann holt flying down the left while bruma and sammy defends the middle! biggrin.gif

35m sounds about right, but i think liverpool will ask for at least 45m. so the front runners will still be city. we can only watch from the sidelines, but sometimes that isn't such a bad thing! nod.gif i do believe ngogg will be pool's future main striker though. looks a talent.

this news has got me exciteeeeeeeeddddddd. love the pics of him in our latest kit!
i agree with maddie. the kid trumps both aguero and torres at the moment, simply because he went on the friggin' STAMFORD BRIDGE TOUR wearing a CHELSEA kit! a buy and loan-back agreement similar to what we did with kalas, would make a lot of sense. his next season with anderlecht could be a blinder, and there's a real possibility his value will skyrocket even further. this is what we should avoid. besides that i think studge, di santo and borini should get their chances this season first.

QUOTE(chitchat @ Jul 14 2010, 12:09 PM)

*
Agreed 100%..but I prefer buy Lukaku and loan back to his club..buy Aguero if Torres price more than 40mil..

QUOTE(Kerplunk @ Jul 14 2010, 01:50 PM)
*
rclxm9.gif and if he sign then Drogba should be his mentor...hahahha

wow you're right! i think we really signed drogba's replacement. drogba made the call, we get the man! WOOHOO!

because as i know, in order to change the information on Chelsea's wiki page, only Chelsea officials are able to do so. so we might really see romelo here!

i saw in wiki that we won the uefa super cup and uefa cup winners cup.

but i thought its between uefa league champions and champions league champions. so we were uefa league champions twice?

UEFA Super Cup - UCL winners v UEFA Cup Winners Cup winners - we won that v Real Madrid IINM
UEFA Cup Winners Cup - contested by FA Cup winners of UEFA members - our last win was v Stuttgart (Zola's wonder goal)

And your question was?

Ah. Well, we entered the Cup Winners Cup by winning the FA Cup v Middlesbrough, and won it via v Stuttgart. And then by winning that, we entered the Super Cup and won it v Real Madrid.

Cup competitions are like that la, you need a good run and some luck in there as well. As far as I can remember, we were chasing all fronts in 9798, finishing 3rd in the EPL as well. One of the better seasons then.

If he get A.Cole...then Zhirkov will be the 1st choice LB..we should just sign one decent backup for him...

For Real..if he get A.Cole and Maicon then...wow..quite unstopable..

As per official webby, the away kit will be available to pre-order starting from tomorrow, 15/07/2010. The kit will be launched on 5th of August. Here's a leak of the away kit* (It follows the WC 2010 Japan kit template)

* But as always, this could end up as 3rd kit. Cause for the past 2 seasons, everytime they speculate that something being the away, it actually ended up as the 3rd kit and vice versa.

Here's the rumoured '3rd kit' leaked picture which was circulated last month (follow the WC 2010 Mexico template):-

Um not really. EUROPA League succeeded UEFA Cup actually. The UEFA Cup Winners Cup competition was abolished about 10 years back IINM. Do check out Wiki for full details!

And also, Benayoun got the 10! Check out the Megastore personalisation...

lol. benny gets the number 10? looks like we really want him to feel at home. i have a feeling that he is going to be the main man on the right midfield.

hardworking and with some decent dribbling skills, i hope we can lock defenses better this season.
