But seriously, we can't blame on Hilario for the last goal.
Berbatov chip is awesome. Even top class GK can't save it I think.
But maybe Hilario shouldn't run out for the ball, 'cause there was few defenders there.
We lost, team lost. No blame on any player.

The whole team was lethargic last night, and most goals were defensive errors. 1st 2 goals were def Ashley's fault, he did not track both runs from Valencia, while the 3rd goal was a combo of Bruma's and Hilario's inexperience. Of course, our play was not good, but not that bad either with us holding most of the possession, and also higher number of chances/shots created, but spurned eventually.

And agreed that we do need a signing to spruce up the team, must admit that Hernandez's intro into the game lifted MU's play, while Yossi's intro did not do the same for us. Sturridge still needs to get rid of his tendency to play alone, even if he has the skills in abundance.

CA def has a lot to do to get the boys back up and running, hopefully this defeat will snap them out of the lethargy sooner rather than later, and start nicking some wins to get the confidence back. After a while, a run of defeats will do no good to the overall confidence.

for me kalou should not have been on the first xi... he will always be a super sub... sturridge did play well but im still wondering if he has the stamina to play full 90... and we always look vulnerable from counter attack...

it seems that ancelotti's intent might be to bring up kalou. he wasnt subbed at all and im sure ancelotti knows he isnt playing very well. he was awesome last season to be honest. he scored quite a number of goals and tracks back to help defend.

i guess Chelsea has no place for youngsters yet. i guess us fans have to be patient and give the young ones sometime to adapt to the senior game. hilario has no excuse of course. he is already quite old and i know he can put on a good performance on his good days. last season's liverpool game for example, he might just be the best goal keeper in the world that day, making all the right decisions and super saves. unfortunately, that kind of form is extremely rare, something we cannot bare with.

Chelsea boss Ancelotti to bid for Stoke keeper Begovic

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic is a target for Chelsea.

The Daily Mail says although Blues boss Carlo Ancelotti said goalkeeper Petr Cech will be fit for the first game of the season at home to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday after a calf injury, it has emerged that Chelsea could make a move for Stoke’s Begovic.

The Italian is not convinced by Hilario or Ross Turnbull as back-up for Cech, and sees Begovic as the ideal No 2, especially as he counts as home grown for the Premier League’s new 25-man squad rule.

Begovic, 23, joined Stoke from Portsmouth in January after a move to Tottenham collapsed.

from tribal.

at least this man myb far better than hilario n turnbull
but i dono this is goin to happen.
we have no trust with hilario n turnbull now

3 defensive lapses, 3 goals. credit to united for punishing every single one of them. i'm singling out terry and ashley here. who would've thought it was our regulars who were going to underperform badly. on the other hand, brana and paulo were first class.

standout performance - studge. time to give nico and kalou a run for their money. loved his direct running and superb ball control. weren't phased by the united defenders at all. should've finished off the bison's defense splitting pass though.

great - brana, paulo, essien.

'okay' - lamps, mikel, hilario, yuri.

could do a whole lot better - kalou, nico, malouda, bruma.

downright disappointing - terry, ashley.

what we could use : some aggression and creativity from ramires, more doses of studgy's pace and dare i say it the creativity of kakuta. was looking forward to seeing him, even on the bench. another pacey attacker maybe? we'll have to wait. smile.gif

positives : good possession, some fantastic interplay in and around united's penalty box. roll on west brom!

how did you rate paulo's performance as great kinda amazes me.

thought he was slow when attacking and a good decision to take him out for bruma (though he was beaten by berba for the last goal).

nothin special about kalou..he is not improving
yes he scored..but is just not good enough to be chelsea squad.
he always just run into the wrong places with the ball.

n im very disappointed about anelka..wtf he doing
he suppose to be our lone striker at 1st half..n he just play like he play for france

n double thumbs up for sturidge..he is good
i thinks he can be more better than kalou n anelka now

totally agree with you. Chelsea need new player at attacking. Exciting new player like Hernandez. Really envy when United got this superb talent. Sturridge maybe the solution at the right winger. Give him more game and surely he will deliver.

GOOD NEWS!

Cech will be fit for West Brom, and so will Alex, they will come back to training next week.

'It's only Bosingwa who needs more time, maybe two or three weeks and Drogba came back on 26th, he needs another two weeks to be fully fit, he can still play.

TRANSFER NEWS
Swansea capture Chelsea winger Sinclair

Swansea have completed the signing of highly-rated Chelsea winger Scott Sinclair on a three-year deal for initial fee of £500,000.

GettyImages

Despite possessing bags of potential, Scott Sinclair failed to make the grade at Chelsea

Sinclair, 21, who is well known to Swans' boss Brendan Rodgers from his days at the Stamford Bridge academy, failed to break into the first team at Chelsea and enjoyed just one start, with another four appearances coming from the bench.

Swansea have paid an initial £500,000 to bring England Under-20 star Sinclair to the Championship, though the fee could rise to over £1million with appearances and performance-related add-ons.

Sinclair has been sent out on several loan spells inr ecent years, with his clubs including Wigan, Crystal Palace and QPR, but despite his failure to break into the first-team picture at Chelsea, Rodgers believes the the move represents a real coup for the Swans.

"Scott is obviously a player I know well and I am delighted to sign him,'' Rodgers told Swansea's official website. "He is a big talent and has been a sought-after player since he broke onto the scene.

"As far as I am concerned there is no better place for him than Swansea City. With this group of players, style of football and fantastic fans, this will be a great club for his development.

"He is only 21 and still has big potential. I think this will be a good home for him. He is a great signing for the present and the future and joins a group of exciting young players.''

Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins added: "While everyone is aware that we run a tight ship here financially, we will always invest in the team when funds are available.

"I think this signing highlights our intent. It is also the club's priority to invest in bright, young talent wherever possible and I don't think you will find many young players with the talent Scott possesses.''

The deal remains subject to Premier League and Football League ratification, meaning Sinclair, who has represented England at every level up to Under-20, will not be available for Swansea's Carling Cup clash with Barnet on Wednesday.

£500,000? Very cheap...

i thought paulo did great too. he did very little mistakes in defense and you shouldnt rate our right flank attack too high. most of our attacks will come from the left. its those occasional times that the right flank will assist in a goal. and for a few times ferreira did put in some good balls. its kalou who failed to capitalize on them.

as for anelka not poaching those goals, he isnt a center forward. we can all see sometimes anelka will tend to drift back to the right or left while kalou slips into the middle.

and god damn it. we lost another English player with great potential. instead we're using really young players? (kakuta, borini) they have not went on loan compared to sinclair who has much more prem experience. sometimes i just dont understand.

1. Petr Cech
2. Branislav Ivanovic
3. Ashley Cole
5. Michael Essien
6. Ricardo Carvalho
8. Frank Lampard
10. Yossi Benayoun
11. Didier Drogba
12. John Mikel Obi
15. Florent Malouda
17. Jose Bosingwa
18. Yury Zhirkov
19. Paulo Ferreira
21. Salomon Kalou
22. Ross Turnbull
23. Daniel Sturridge
24. Nemanja Matic
26. John Terry
33. Alex
38. Patrick van Aanholt
39. Nicolas Anelka
40. Hilario
41. Sam Hutchinson
42. Michael Mancienne
43. Jeffrey Bruma
44. Gael Kakuta
45. Fabio Borini

disanto isnt in the list. is he going on loan again or will he follow the path of sinclair?

and i also wonder if Slobodan Rajković will come back to stamford bridge this season?

did the first thing that was asked of him, which was to defend well. i'd rather ashley emulate him on the day, instead of marauding forward and exposing us at the back. looked fresher than ashley and terry combined, while having a couple of good crosses into the middle.

hernandez looked pretty good for utd, but i think we have someone better in the form of sturridge. i'd pick danny boy over him any day. flex.gif

Chelsea Football Club can confirm it has agreed terms for the transfer of Scott Sinclair to Swansea City.

We thank Scott for his service over the past five years and wish him well in his future career.
