Is is true that MU, MF and HF are throttled by Streamyx? I felt mine is plus I'm subscribing to the 1mbps package. Sometimes, I'm getting 5-50 kbps for AVI or RAR files. For the 4mbps user, what's the usual download speed for those servers after being throttled? And if in the future, I would like to upgrade from 4mbps to Unifi VIP 5, is there any additional fee I have to fork out for the cancellation?

All those filehosters aren't throttled for their premium versions AFAIK..

Been getting steady 440-450 kBps speeds from them no problem...

I'm a free user fyi. That's a really bad news. So, subscribing to Unifi is the only way besides purchasing the premium membership?

Yep, pretty much. Best BW is going to Unifi atm.

Premium HF and MU is worth it... Once a year payment and all you can eat after that.... no worries about throttling anytime... none of that trouble you get if you BT

I'm actually confused since Streamyx actually throttled MU, HF, MF, how will premium membership helps in the removal of throttling. I mean they're from the same filehosters afterall.

I'm not sure myself.. but ever since this throttling debacle started, I haven't noticed any speed drops on my side at all for any file format from any provider using premium...

Hello people, change topic a bit yeah, from downstream port speed to upstream port speed...

I just wanna ask, has anyone ever requested for a higher capping of upstream port rate, say from the default 512kbps to 640kbps?

Reason I am asking is that with 512kbps upstream, the max data rate is around 0.42mbps only, at best effort, there is no way to reach the claimed "512kbps best effort" advertised in the 2/4mbps packages.

Of course I think P2P torrent downloads will benefit more from a higher upstream data rate, I believe with a higher upstream rate, it can support more connections.
*
Most upstream SNR are low to begin with. Wouldn't it make the upstream sync unstable at higher speed?
Other than better QoS control with a higher upload, an unstable up stream is not something to be desired

Because chances are 4Mbps is running on a different port (which is mostly Adsl2+) hence even if you get 10Mbps currently you still won't be able to upgrade since the port your on isn't equipped for 4Mbps.

Good luck trying to ask TM for more port, ain't gonna happen unless there's 10+ people just like you. Same s*** everywhere so don't worry, its not new smile.gif
