just use the Maxis 3G settings, then set the network mode to GSM/WCDMA auto (not sure if this affects this but change this just to make sure) . The phone will switch from 3g to 2g(E on your bar) whenever you have a bad 3g connection, and switches back to 3g(3g or H on your bar) whenever you have a better connection. This might eat bit more battery cause of switching of different type of mode, and if you're on a call it might get cut off when the phone switches mode.
*
Thanks for the advice.
Hmm..seems that even if I set it to 2G, I still get 3G internet connections (show H on my phone). Just wandering should I switch it back
I have tried switching it to 3G but I did not get any connection at all. Not sure if anybody have experience that?

Guys I am thinking to get a Desire soon but I heard my friend said that some applications/functions will not work in Malaysia, is that true...? If that's true then arent HTC selling crippled phone to Malaysians...?
*
As far as I know NO such issue - all apps will work irregardless where you buy the phone.
I think your friend mean the MarketPlace to buy paid apps - this is now no longer an issue as already resolved. It was an issue in the earlier release of the Androids eg Hero/Magic as Malaysia is NOT in the list of countries approved by Google to download paid apps. But now can be solved after rooting and installed MarketEnabler or MarketAcess both are freewares - just download installed takes only 10 to 15 secs and you can access paid apps paying it thro your Msian Credit Card

but developers must also allow their apps to be installed into the SD card, and it might take some time for some apps to have that feature...
if 2.2 for the Desire is out by June 22nd, you might need wait for the developers to allow that apps2SD function...

Too much money? Haha. Me I find the free apps good enough at the moment. Even with all the free apps I don't have time to use all.

Hey you don't need an app. In new message, tap on To: add the contact, and then tap To : to add the next contact. etc. You will see all the contact you've keyed in, in a line below the To: panel.

U can also send group message if you have a bunch of friends/co-workers u send text regularly to. Just put them in a group n send group message.
Hope that helps! smile.gif

The keyboard in landscape mode is definitely better because the keys get bigger like you said...
The compact Qwerty is for Potrait mode only and it is not available in Asean mobiles it seems according to the previous post as mine is UK model so i have the compact qwerty..
You have is the normal QWERTY and i have both. The compact Qwerty is really compact, each button has 2 alphabets.. like QW in a button and ER in a button and so on

Paid apps have more functions/features than the free that is why people want to buy apps lo....
same thing like iPhone, free game only few levels, paid games have full version... smile.gif

I've got a question.
How many languages has the phone got on default?

Specifically, does it have Korean language and can you type in hangul (korean)?
Important for me.

Thanks in advance.

is it common for desire? how about AP unit users.. the not-so-good speakers are bad when using navigation.. its quite embarrassing also having a cool phone but shitty audio output quality..
