went there today...i went there quite early to avoid the crowd...

the phone is nice, fit nicely to my palm, the phone is responsive, and it's quite fast when surfing too, multitouch works pretty well...

but a few things bug me from getting the phone:
- if MNP i need to wait 2 days then only can get the phone...
- cant upgrade data plan, if you get 500MB and feel like upgrading you need to terminate your current plan, means you need to pay the penalty...
-pink hue is more obvious that i anticipate

so in the end i didnt get the phone, and will most probably wait to get it from other retailers if i do get it or see if DiGi decide to offer this
worst case scenario: wait for other alternatives...

just back from klcc. Desire nice to hold and fast in startup. The drawback is the optical pad, finger often crosses the button on the LHS and RHS.

Poor turnout and poor sales from 27/5 until today, they only manage to sell 140unit ++
*
i'm not saying anything bad or something like that, but i was hoping the sales of if hTC Desire would not be as "hot" as anticipated within this 1st month so that this kind of exclusivity would not be a norm...
i do hope the sales will will pick up later on...i'm playing waiting game to see if DiGi would offer Desire on the smart plan, else i would consider getting from official resellers...

YES - it is one of the major feature in this release. I have tested it on my nexus
but developers must also allow their apps to be installed into the SD card, and it might take some time for some apps to have that feature...
if 2.2 for the Desire is out by June 22nd, you might need wait for the developers to allow that apps2SD function...

Save money, dont buy. The multitouch is probably a hardware limitation, will never be fixed on Desire. How about Samsung Galaxy S, iPhone 4G or HTC Evo 4G? Dont get Desire la, old model liao, so many bug also - damn sien.
*
that's right, the multitouch is due to hardware, cant do much bout it...desire is still pretty much still a high-end phone...but yeah in some aspect it's "outdated"...

i believe complicated software / UI / applications are bound to some bugs one way or another...the question is: can you accept some of the workarounds to temp solve the issues?

QUOTE(yokatasan @ Jun 7 2010, 10:12 PM)
other phone? such as?
*
you just need to get more information on the phone you are interested in, know the pros and cons, so that you will not regret later after using the device...if you are worried bout video sync and multitouch, then wait for either iphone 4G/HD (i'm pretty much confident on iphone multitouch capability as it pretty much used for games) or samsung galaxy S...

but know this, other phones are not perfect either...example: 1 design flaw of the Samsung galaxy S (to me) is the lack of LED notification, if you miss a call or a sms come in but you didnt know bout it, you wont know until you wake the phone up and you would need to refer to the screen to check if the phone is fully charged as there's no LED indication to tell you that the phone has fully charged...on the other hand, desire has LED notification and will not have these problems...

so just get a phone that you are comfortable with and dont really mind bout the spec too much, all the phone you buy now, will probably get outdated in the next 6 months...

Attached Image

for you to decide, the picture is from fudzilla, which says property of engadget...

IMO, it looks shaper but the color is not as vivid as AMOLED...

How come, even though some application you dont run it but its shown in the task killer? I am using the blue color Advanced Task manager.. I kill task for batt, not memory.

Additionally, why dont all game makers learn from the Super KO Boxing 2 game? It's 80MB game but most of it install to SD. How come this game can but others cannot?

Lastly, the phone goes to sleep within 1 minute and we keep using the POWER button to wake it up whenever we wanna use it, will our POWER button break down before anything else?
*
dont really have to worry bout the power button, been using the power button on my HD for more than a year, and it's still as responsive...besides i think if anything goes wrong with the power button, you can claim warranty... 2 years warranty should cover it, right?

yup...along with this article:

one main suspicion why I expect Android 2.2 to be released that day: adobe will be there...

mostly photos and videos... especially DCIM folder which is the folder where the photos taken by desire is stored... and i'd also just found out that the notifications folder was also corrupted, so i think its not just limited to some file types....

tat is so unreliable, spend the whole night trying to recover my photos.... so the other user better be careful...

was wondering what brand / class / capacity of microSD were you using?

hey, how did u know? lol, it seems like v both r using the same card and facing the same problem... are there any other users also facing same problem?

actually i just used chkdsk, and manually rename the files that came out... according to the size...
*
maybe could be just coincidence, or maybe after saving all the files in the microSD, try formatting it using the phone...

havent even get the phone but the phone price dropped liao... shocking.gif

@hanny562,

maxis doesnt put their own custom thingy on the ROM like that some carriers are doing, example AT&T prevents their users from installing any other sources except from market (ala iphone)...

so when there's a new ROM on the hTC website, you can download it and flash it...

oh yeah, hTC android (current ones at least) support OTA updates, so you dont have the fuss to get connected to a PC to update ROM...

ya, until now we haven get our 1st update yet, which Europe already have it few weeks ago~~

SEA is kinda slow in getting updates...but then look on the positive: users in Europe can help us become "guinea pig" by experiencing potentially bad bugs...

Hi anybody having problem with their HTC Sync?

I got my phone for about 1 month now. as i am using microsoft outlook for work therefore syncing of contacts and calender is very important to me.

my problem with HTC sync is that after installing HTC Sync on my laptop (Vista), my windows explorer on my laptop crashed and restart every time. so i tried uninstalling HTC Sync and HTC drivers. but still crash and restart. i had to do a system restore before everything went back to normal.

anybody face this problem? or is it only me?

i have tried both version of HTC Sync 2.0.28 and 2.0.30.

i have contacted HTC customer service but it seems they cant figure out the problem as well.

please help.

Thanks
*
IINM, the latest version for hTC Sync is 2.0.33

i meant 2.0.33, sorry for the typo.

any sifu can help? really desperate now.

have tried googling for it...but nothing  cry.gif

ok, maybe you try uninstalling the hTC Sync (including removing hTC sync folders) and reinstalling it again (but right-click and select "run as administrator when installing)...
also maybe you can try downloading the file again, maybe it was corrupted during download...
last but not least, run the program as administrator...

Official Froyo is out even out yet for Nexus One... I doubt we'll have one for Desire before that...
*
who knows if the reason for the slow roll out of the android 2.2 for nexus one, is because google wants to give some time for the OEMs to prepare the 2.2, so almost all of the newer device will be able to upgrade OTA....
