Hey guys I recently got hold of the HTC Desire from Maxis for review as part of their marketing campaign. to those lucky guys/gals who already have this great gadget for a while now:

1. How do you rate the build quality of this phone? Do you think it will last for 2 years at least with normal wear and tear?
2. Any minor or major annoying unresolved problems? I heard the Motorola Milestone has some unfixed problems.
3. Does it worth the price - RM1,499 or whatever price you bought at?

1. Superb design, you gotta luv it so much. Looks so beautiful and it's solid (at the moment )
2. So far so good, too bad I can't play world of warcraft and crysis on it.

I think it's SGD720 kuaaa... but seriously, a lot of hype over Legend but I honestly prefer Desire casing. Metal like Macbook type is fine but then I feel too robotic... too kaku. Desire, no regrets.

Desire back has more grip..at least u have the rubberised feeling.
I've seen a few Legend user complaining the metal is nice to see but damn difficult to hold.

Hey guys,does anyone of you have a problem of not being able to go into Leap/Helicopter view? I have this problem sometimes that when I pinch the screen,it doesnt do anything. After reboot,it works just fine. Any ideas guys?

yup.. sometimes when you pinch the home screen, the smaller home screens just went scattered nowhere.... after turn off the screen, then turn back on, it's ok again... lol

anyway I bought it with plan lar, not just phone alone. My monthly basic bill is S$39.

r u using "fake chrome" app? this causes this. uninstall then u're done

anyone use Talk on the desire experienced an issue where a msg comes in but the phone doesn't notify u?

as in it doesn't play the notification sound or even vibrate...even thought i already set it in the Talk setting...

anyone? it used to work.. but not anymore...even after i restarted it

Too bad we don't get that kind of prices in Boleh land. One of the perks for living across the causeway...

Here's my take :
1. Excellently built, should hold up very well for 2 years. As many have pointed out, the rubberised back offers good grip and one surface less of finger prints.
2. Every phone has got its own quirks. Look up the first post and make your own judgement. I've found nothing that bothers me enough to regret buying this phone.
3. Worth every penny at the moment unless you wanna wait for the other phones that will be launching god knows when (eg. Galaxy S, iPhone4 etc).

i don't think you should try it.. as EU and SEA models are different.. it might even make your phone become worst...
Just be patient and wait for the SEA version as it only fixes bugs and etc...

i think plan for htc desire by maxis also not bad wat?
with only 12 months plan

i believe the plan for sg is 24 months..
and around the same for both country after total up

1. Top rate build quality... nice hard screen.. scratch proof... but somehow i don't like the rubbery surface of the body... feels icky... waiting for my epikcase to come.
2. Most minor/major problem can be solved with some software. Hate the video camera though like only 20fps... and facebook contact pics nvr update... pls refer here.
3. Bought at rm2199 fr maxis... definitely worth it.

got plan for 12 months also..different price la..
btw, if sign for 2yrs n terminate early, got early termination fee lo..as usual.
After 1yr, telcos will usually send u cash vouchers luring u to renew contract/ upgrade phone

n the result is rm380 data usage bill for 37k Kb usage
