Few questions.

1. Among my favorites contacts, those 9 boxes, one has a contact card within it. Why?
2. My mail home screen is configured to my hotmail, how to manually sync each time i am on that home screen?
3. What are your 7 home screens?
4. Contacts can be categorized into Gmail (after you set it up), Sim and phone. How do i categorize all my imported contacts as 'Phone' contacts?

The data usage is not much. I can confirm this as i signed up for 3gb and use extensively only used 60mb in 24hrs. Probably signed too much but only Rm10 difference. Will use it with my laptop, too bad cannot p2p.

Please update me in owner list.

how do u install it in sd card instead of phone memory?

It goes to the phone memory. It will go to the mini sd in android 2.2 later this year.

Also dont have class 6 micro sd, only got class 4.

Can share the link to the pouch on ebay?

Yes 3gb is too much. 1.5gb is just nice but difference is RM10. To many this dont matter.

To save batt, go to Home Screen and add a widget call Power Control. Turn off everything when not in used.

Guys, there are 4 types of screen protector selling... which one do you all normally choose?
Matte? or Mirror? or privacy?
Anyone using either one these screen proctector can tell me wuts the diff effect to your desire?
*
I think mine is Matte. It's quite good and I am happy with it. It does not glare under the sun and there are no effects on the phone, does not lose sensitivity. The brand I bought is CAPDASE for RM30 in a HTC stall (in front of Samsung shop) on G floor in Digital Mall, PJ.

1.8gb is still way more than 100mb.. yea.. froyo has apps to sd.. but this option is more as a choice for the developer rather than user
i am afraid some developers might not be so willing to move their files to the SD card.. for fear of piracy maybe? just a thought
*
The sizes of an Android app / game is as small as KB and barely any that exceeds 4MB. With 100MB, you have a lot to install and you can even install games like checkers, chess, and etc that you probably wouldnt even play.

Despite the complaint of having insufficient memory to support the app, there are plenty that we can forego - down with the silly games and try out more apps! Yay!

If you are afraid and has all these concerns, you should wait out for Froyo to be released to Desire before buying. Maybe by then, there'd be a even better model!

Galaxy S has great specs, thats true. But I won't buy the Galaxy S in favour of the Desire. Why? It's too like an Iphone. UI looks like iPhone's,even the design looks like iPhone's. Come on Samsung,be more creative  doh.gif

Oh and if you guys think HTC software support is bad,Samsung's is even worse  sweat.gif
*
Got like iPhone meh? Some users care more about the 'engine' ma, more power can vroom vroom!

Somehow I can never bring myself to buy Samsung products. Even for CRT, I'd rather go with Viewsonic than Samsung. I see Samsung 17" CRT for a few hours, I will get headache.

The battery drain quite fast even though I dont use it. I just picked up one call this morning and that's it. From 8am to 10:40am, my batt has loss 5 bars!!

3h 2m 36s since unplugged
Here is the breakdown:
Cell standby 46%
Phone idle 47%
Android System 5%
Display 2%

What is Cell standby? How to improve batt performance?

I am considering task killer to kill task that is taking up the batt, not the memory.

I have Facebook, Gmail, Stocks and Weather set up.

Facebook interval: 2 hours
Stock interval: every hour
Weather: every 3 hours
Gmail: cannot set interval. Does anybody know how? I dont need to sync contacts and calendar from Gmail!

The USB to Micro USB cable for charging our phone via PC / laptop has no voltage and etc, so any cable (even Nokia's or Blackberry's) will work just fine with our Desire, yes?

Thanks for the confirmation!

I am very happy with the Desire. I never had Facebook account but when I got my hands on this phone, I thought I should sign up for one to fully utilize it.

Pluck, Twitter and Flickr, which more interesting?

Looks like i need to travel to Lowyat for the micro sd card too.

As for screen protector, recommended to buy from Htc stall in Digital Mall. Stall is in front of Samsung shop, G floor. walk straight in the main entrance, you shd be able to see it.

Question to those using Maps, how come when i get direction from A to B, view map.. the map does not follow arrow. You need to move the screen to follow the travelling arrow.

Meaning when the screen is zoomed in, the arrow will move along the road and possibly out of the screen. Then we have to move the map to follow the arrow.

What is the difference between just arrow and arrow with circle??

anyone here been to klcc today bought desire?

i heard the charger sold out, is it true?
*
Not sure about KLCC but my colleague who bought from Sunway Pyramid didnt get the charger today.

Added on June 1, 2010, 8:49 pmAnyone here using Maps as their GPS?

1. How come some times the 'arrow' is with a circle (look like radar) but some times not?

2. If you set direction from point 'A' to 'B', and click GO. The arrow will move on its own and out of the map. How come Maps is not intelligent enough to move the screen following the arrow?

There is a blue colour dot on the right bottom, press the button and your screen will follow the arrow. However with the current google map, it wont automatic recalculate your route if you go into wrong path. You can try nav launcher for better navigation experience.

Hi i cant find the blue color dot u mentioned..
