QUOTE(senoqc @ Nov 2 2010, 08:33 PM) 1. My sister just finish the 2 yers contract on maxis bb. but when she want to terminate, the sc ask to return back the modem including the box. if without box, sc want to charge rm60? anybody care to help me plis. i need guide. 2. I had a maxis bb 2 yers back. it definitely suck so stop using them n forgot to cancel or terminate. yep, it is my fault until i forget about it. when i move to a new house, i want to register phoneline, they said my name already been blacklist n when i check, maxis had charge me 2k worth of two yers contract eventho they already terminate my line on the 3rd month of the subcription because i didnt pay the bills. why the heck the charge for the whole two yers but i can manage to surf the web until the 3rd month of the contract only. hope u guys can understand my english. pliss my fellow frens, i need guide and help. Simple Answer 1. Maxis did not terminate your line but "Suspended your line" monthly charges still charge to you although you did not pay. It is your responsibility to inform MAXIS your intention to terminate line else they will charge you until you DIE!!! (basically all operators in Malaysia use this way... so no difference from maxis or U or celcom or P1) 2. By right when the contract over the modem belong to you...

Not all packages came with free modem. Some must be returned. At the moment I'm not even sure if mine needs to be returned. BTW, I heard the modem is wired to only work with Maxis SIM, has anyone hacked it?

No, it doesn't. But being the service that it is, sometimes it is slow and your pictures do not load completely - hence, pixelation.
I really hate the MyLaunchpad crap which stops me from loading other sites. And it takes up the usage volume as well. Grr.

Amazing, eh? I call them up tons of times, they don't/won't tell me anything.
Not sure if it's possible to exploit it that way (but it's not because you already do have unlimited internet). So why do you need a new router/phone modem?

With these HSPA+ deployments, it's going to make TM's ageing ADSL network obsolete in no time and give them a run for their money.
Until they can mass deploy their FTTH network, people will favor the higher speed packages as much as they could get.

At the moment, TM's 10Mbps and 20Mbps packages are still faster.
And, Maxis, as well as it has done in expanding their 3G services, have been a terrible letdown with their own 6-24Mbps broadband services (which as of now are still only 6Mbps and limited to a couple places).
If 42Mbps HSPA+ (which is meant to "start becoming widely available" next year, meaning we may wait till nearly 2012) is 3-10Mbps, the promised "100Mbps" next March may be significantly less.

Hi, just a simple question- in task manager & maxis connection manager I always see the network utilization average around 35kbps. But in real usage, why i only get ~5kbps? Where is the rest 30kbps gone? ate by windows? I'm pretty sure my windows is clean from junks... Or just the "network utilization" statistic unreliable?

Unlikely, since I disabled all unwanted windows services (and there no more svchosts listed in tasks). Well guess it just showing the link speed on the connection manager, rather than actual data transmit speed. (yeah i'm slightly out of town and my speed is pretty low... but this Postpaid broadband with dedicated modem, is slower than i connect Prepaid broadband through my handphone?! oh gosh... ) This post has been edited by M1X: Nov 6 2010, 05:44 PM

In real terms I don't think background progs use up bandwidth. At least not for me

Strange situation. Is it reception problem? If i can get that speed consistently in this kind of location, that will be great (hutan)
