Hmm... but it's seriously lifeless there, I couldn't even bear it staying there for 2 weeks! U work in what field? r u chinese? I can intro my brunei frens to you just in case if u need buddies to hang out with. They can bring u go drink  rolleyes.gif  brows.gif

in sg i'm getting more o less the same "boring" lifestyle trust me after a few rounds of clarke quay, orchard towers, boat quay, zouk its all the same. dont let me get started on sentosa, bird park or the zoo. go once never go back. nowadays anytime i have would be spent resting b4 the week starts getting crazy again.

yup cina working in construction your brunei frens = chicks? whistling.gif

Brunei is nice...near to my home in Sabah compare to Sg...currency also strong haha. If I can one day I wan to jump also.
*
wo0o00 sabahan high five dude, yup the other reason y brunei is tat its next to sabah. 4h+ iirc drive or 45min plane ride wo00o0o.....can be hau soon zai

QUOTE(crapp0 @ Jun 4 2010, 08:56 AM)
Who said its boring, get to live expat lifestyle. Thats if you work for shell, goto either SRC or panaga country club. Plus they have alot of activities for children as well with the school just opposite the club.

Plus purchasing a car is cheap, has one of the lowest oil prices in south east asia and the main road from kuala beliat to seria is usually just a straight road so you can speed with no probs plus the roads are very well maintained within the kuala beliat - seria area since alot of shell staff are housed either in the outskirts of seria or in kuala belait.

Plus there are a couple of shell staff who have their own micro-brewery for "personal" consumption.
*
too bad i'm not joining shell but all the same brunei is tax free get to buy a 2nd hand accord euro for les then B$30k petrol at less then a buck per litre miri n kk not that far away for a nice weekend.

alcohol wise well unless required i dont drink so no probs thr either.

QUOTE(yinyum @ Jun 4 2010, 11:44 AM)
Well, Brunei is a place good for relaxing and retire life... The escalator there is 5 times slower than Singapore, ppl drive so slow on 'highway' make u feel like scolding bad words tongue.gif Their highway only 2 lanes... hahahah... But no doubt u can drive nice luxury cars like Lexus, Z4, Fairlady, VW & so on in Brunei with dirt cheap petrol price... But I think brunei is only for ppl who love slow pace life, not for ppl that enjoy working in fast pace countries and Brunei is seriously no entertainment at all, not even KTV... But another advantage is that u can save money instead of spending them off on entertainments tongue.gif
*
the key word is drive. u get to drive in sg drive? well it is something i dont see myself doing in the near future in sg. escalator 5 times slower? well the fact is the escalators have about 3 standard speeds so 5 times slower a bit of over statement. anyway the construction indusry in sg is a killer... benifis aint so good salary wise also nothing special so better gobrunei since they r offeirng higher better pay a better lifestyle. entertainment wise too much entertainment u will also be sick of it.

hi all, if looking for some job opportunity for a US MNC in Singapore:-

Some basic Requirements:-
1) Can speak Mandarin & Cantonese fluently
2) At least 2 years Customer Service/Call Centre experience

Can expect >$2.5k-3k (rough guess), and no shift work. (Mon-Fri). This is a call centre customer service job, but i can say its not as hectic as most centres out there. <personally i think it's a great environment>

PM me for further details. Non Singapore Citizens/ non PRs is fine.

Haha sg so hot until need portable aircon ah? won't the owner kbkp and demand extra if u use something like that?

the portable aircon using water evaporation not so good apparently, esp in high humidity places in southeast asia.
