Actually I'm now staying at sengkang.. But if I really got selected for the job, I think I wanna move to somewhere nearer to AMK is better, as sengkang to AMK is quite a distance, I scare I always late for work.. But my fren (alrdy confirmed got the job) will stay hougang leh.. If wanna move out, I wanna move and stay with her (provided if she wants to move)..

It is feasible to stay there but drive sg registered vehicle in and out? or the toll charges make it not worthwhile anyway? cos if working in Tuas area, this the distance don't look too bad.

well, am taking bus... but if got 4 ppl working at the same place, the toll charges and petrol will look worthwhile because share with 4-5 ppl

Yeah on average you only save about $100-150 going from single to twin sharing. To some, a small price to pay for privacy.

I have a 3 bedroom apartment in jb that's 15min from causeway and the monthly payment is bout 1.1k RM. And my litttle room in sengkang already cost 550 SGD. If you don't mind the traveling and the early morning waking up then it's really worth the sacrifice for the cheap gas and food

if i stay in JB, definitely i will buy a bike and travel lo. but i guess my aunt will not suggest me to do that as she always ask me to stay in SG instead. not sure if can find a $400 common room lets say if my house owner really move. if with aircond + internet, i don't mind paying $500.

aircond at 500? Good luck with that since its high unlikely a stranger would rent you with air con at 500 unless you stay in the utility room. And even then most singaporeans are "ngiau" and will complain once the electricity bill goes above what "they" see fit.

yalo, that's why i rather take those money to JB and rent a Master room with air-cond and stay there. since Bloggerblue can survive for so long when he stay there, i guess it should be safe enough. not to mention i can buy a car and drive back to KL once a month if stay JB.

Question is whether the savings from living in JB is more than the additional income you would earn if you invested those 2-3 hours per day into your job, a second job, part time work or your own small biz?

For me, it's important to be able to say 'yes, no problem. Be there/at the airport in an hour' when the job calls. Thankfully, it doesn't happen often... but when it does, it's always a mini career defining moment. Add to that the fact that my current boss likes 8am meetings... living in JB means I have to leave home at 4-5am... or pay S$40 to take a SG cab from Kotaraya II.
