Hi. A headhunter was asking me whether I am interested to apply for a contract based job in singapore bank. I am not sure whether I should give it a try as I am quite concerned about the job security. Currently I have a permanent post in malaysian bank. of course, I would love to work in singapore. Wanna gather more comments before I make up my mind. Any comments? Tq

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Nov 12 2010, 11:39 AM) huh? they are still not converting you to permanent even after 6 months? just curious, how many of them are permanent in ur dept? only the Manager?? does that means that those ASCS guys are also on contract? Hmm, well i guess they normally convert after 2nd time of renewing contract.. But it's ok la, i got extra allowance also as a contract staff, even though it's not as good as perm benefits yup, most of the ASCS side also contract la.. My team got around 4 perm now This post has been edited by yinyum: Nov 12 2010, 05:33 PM |

QUOTE(bellion @ Nov 11 2010, 11:39 PM) SGD150K is actually rather low for a mid to upper-middle manager in foreign banks in Singapore, except for maybe administrative, HR and PR departments. per annum as in include bonus or not? Try SGD200K+ per annum for a start. ur talking about high perfromer or mediocre. performance makes a HUGE difference, especially in SG. Also ask ur bos to give recomendation lor. its would be easier to look for SG jobs in SG than in Msia. This post has been edited by J(o)y: Nov 12 2010, 09:29 PM |

QUOTE(seantang @ Nov 11 2010, 11:28 PM) I actually haven't met many bankers in Malaysia who earn RM10K or more. Maybe I don't meet many successful ones back home. I should be one of those, ha.In Singapore however, almost all the bankers I know earn at least S$150K a year. A few of the experienced accountants from my office have left us to join Citibank with that starting salary, even the ones who are decidedly quite mediocre. It's such an employee's market today in the banking sector that I reckon getting a 5 figure salary is practically a sure thing as long as you've worked 8-10 years or more in any financial discipline. |
