I was offered a job in Sg but not sure whether to accept or not? The job's a downgrade from my current one in m'sia but the pay is better (no conversion). They offered SGD 4+++ but i duno if that is enough to go about in Sg especially rent is on the high side. Any advise? The Sg com is a american company in Jurong dealing with heavy equipment.

QUOTE(Aloong @ Jun 17 2010, 05:17 PM) Since u've mentioned it's an increment, i think would be sufficient. i.e. if you can survive with RM3+++ in Malaysia, u shd be able to survive with SGD4+++ in Singapore. I am currently in banking with about 4 years experience and will join a non-banking company in finance. When i mention a downgrade, i'm refering to prospects. and while in M'sia i don't have to worry about things like rent, utilities, toiletries, etc (as i live with my parent) my liabilities are mainly food, family allowances, car, petrol, etc which is still manageable with a little bit of luxury here and there .Don't know if SGD 4000k is enough to maintain my current lifestyle. What's the difference between P1,2&3? What kind of benefits does p2 entails?

Hi all, I'm also going to work in sg in august. Working in Jurong and planning find a room somewhere in Clementi/Queenstown/Buona Vista/Redhill. Don't really want to stay with landlord either. Any one of you (not landlords) who are planning to get an apartment on a shared basis? Kindly PM me.

QUOTE(bloggerblue @ Aug 13 2010, 07:07 AM) 40 minutes gua? Added on August 13, 2010, 7:09 amthat's so true but in term of benefit and increment, in singapore i believe still gain a little bit extra advance compare to Malaysia. Bus driver equal to senior manager in malaysia my ex-colleague now a manager in one of the bank, salary nearly rm6K.. but pressure and work load, responsibility to shoulder is greater while one of my friend working as operator in sg, salary converted into Rm, well, just answer call, end of day, knock off at time~ no worry, no pressure.. lol I don't think that is a fair comparison. When u earn in SG you spend in SG. Rental is expensive, cost of living is rising. When people say that dollar to dollar food in SG is cheaper than M'sia you must understand the key word here is "cheaper". If you are earning SGD 2,000.00 you have to live a spartan life here. If you earn RM 6,000 in M'sia, you can liver pretty comfortably even though the exchange rate will ultimately make the person earning SGD 2000 more than the person earning RM 6,000.00

QUOTE(Lester1987 @ Nov 13 2010, 07:19 AM) i got a friend who is interested to work in Singapore as well. I got so many calls from recruiters but i am not interested to change job now. But my friend who is eagerly wanted to work in Singapore got 0 calls from recruiters, even he applied for jobs but no reply. haiz~~~. so Mercury, u got any opening for customer service position? my friend got 2-3 years call center experience. but he is only a diploma holder. pm me and i can send u his resume. From what i know, anyone without a recognised degree or not working in a specialist, managerial, professional or in-demand type of occupation will be tough getting both EP or S-pass
