Question.

If my current landlord ends the tenancy contract early because they managed to sell the place, do I get some form of compensation? I wish to at least get back my agent fees and deposit.

Very sad to move out from Bukit Batok...

I just got myself a place at Bedok Reservoir for 500$. Why is it that I need to pay full month fees to agent when all he did was put the advert on the net where I found it. Even the owner can do that! Please somebody make me feel better.

N btw, what is all this 1+1, 3+1 term?
Is it how I paid for my 1 month plus 1 month advance when i first rent the room?

Why? Because you were willing to pay. You could have passed on this place, you know.

You should be able to get back your deposit, or more commonly stop paying rental for the number of months deposit you paid (ie. offset rental with the deposit).

As for agent's fees... ask for the pro-rata compensation of the fees. You can always refuse to move out before the tenancy expires in order to force your landlord's hand.

The Southern Thais can't vote for UMNO. So, it's not ok. Just that the customs, police and petrol station operators all take a cut and therefore the smuggling goes on unabated. Also a lot of the so-called nelayan... many of them smuggle petrol rather than catch fish.

i think thats why we all left in the first place

would a fresh graduate with an Accounting degree be able to find a job in Sg? Or should I gather working experience in Malaysia first before venturing?

Thanks.

Is the offer in KL or in Singapore?

What's the point of getting experience before coming to Singapore? Why can't you come directly to Singapore and get that experience here instead?

Unfortunately most of the advert is by agents. only less than 5% are advertised by direct owner. especially if u search thru the net.
probably the owner is lazy to go thru the hassle of making appointment to tenants, reciv calls, and have to go all the way to the house just to show ppl who might not be interest to rent. sumore have to do some selling/negotiations skills.

but commonly it's half month agent fees for one year lease, 1mth for 2yrs. Dear forumers, pls correct me if i'm wrong.

1+1 = 1 room + 1 living room
2+1 = 2R+1LR
Dunno about other terms. to make matter complication u have also A, I, NG, etcetc.....
i've tried to search thru hdb website, but can't find a complete list to describe all types.

You are using property agent services, thus need to pay. Else, you can always opt to go direct for owner but it is difficult to search.

My only question is, I thought for agent fee is usually 50%-50%? Tenant pay 50%, and owner pay 50% ?

If that's the case, then there is really no point to ask the question "Shud I accept the job? Get the experience before heading down south to singapore?"

You've already decided.
