If that's the case, then there is really no point to ask the question "Shud I accept the job? Get the experience before heading down south to singapore?"

You've already decided.

Wrong, oceaneering hire diploma holders with salary averaging around 3K and above, not inlcuding OT or allowances if their outstation.

With only 3 years experience, it's a pretty good offer. I dare say he won't get many other offers paying the same pay. If one starts at $2500, it's a 20% increment each year to get to $4500.

My cousin job hops every 1.5 yrs.. maybe tis is why he got this offer.

But before he graduated, he already gained 2 yrs exp in a medium audit firm.

Well, you dont expect them to give people the job just like that. At least they have on the job training on ROV vehicle operation in batam and inspection services at jurong island. You can call up their operations manager mark or if your lucky, you can meet his brother paul at jurong island for some info.

Bus captains earn S$2500 per month. That's nearly RM6000. An iPhone costs the same (after conversion) in Malaysia or Singapore. So salary more than double, but the price of stuff like iPhone is still the same.

In Malaysia, the senior manager of the bus company earns RM6000. Therefore, the purchasing power of a bus driver in Singapore is the same as the purchasing power of a senior manager at a bus company in Malaysia. So, no need to 'wah' cool2.gif

that's so true smile.gif but in term of benefit and increment, in singapore i believe still gain a little bit extra advance compare to Malaysia.

Bus driver equal to senior manager in malaysia smile.gif

my ex-colleague now a manager in one of the bank, salary nearly rm6K.. but pressure and work load, responsibility to shoulder is greater tongue.gif while one of my friend working as operator in sg, salary converted into Rm, well, just answer call, end of day, knock off at time~ no worry, no pressure.. lol

I don't think that is a fair comparison. When u earn in SG you spend in SG. Rental is expensive, cost of living is rising. When people say that dollar to dollar food in SG is cheaper than M'sia you must understand the key word here is "cheaper". If you are earning SGD 2,000.00 you have to live a spartan life here. If you earn RM 6,000 in M'sia, you can liver pretty comfortably even though the exchange rate will ultimately make the person earning SGD 2000 more than the person earning RM 6,000.00
