QUOTE(xtremesportx @ May 15 2010, 09:03 AM) SGD4200 vs RM4600 of course singapore better la!! Its not fair to compare in this manner.SGD4200 x 2.34 = RM9828 ah!! compare with your RM4600, its double your current salary! Plus your cpf is much much more, employee and employer contribute to 33%!! in 5 years you'll see a substantial amount you never seen before You need to compare the savings on both sides at the end of the day. Better still factor in the losses you may be facing in terms of not able to meet your gf, parents and your love ones. Take into account on the opportunity cost that you may loss. For eg, you still need to pay your housing installment in MY despite incurring monthly rentals in SG and you failed to rent your house in MY. Factor in that you may no longer able to enjoy the tasty nasi lemak in SG and so on. |

QUOTE(MPIK @ May 18 2010, 12:19 PM) I can see this thread there are alot of Auditors and Accountants lurking around. This is because auditors in SG are actually easy to find jobs. So, accounts and finance professionals are quite demanding in SG yah. Go to any Big4 and offer yourself $2.2K, they will accept you even you have not pass ur ACCA (depends on availability of vacanies). Or better still, offer youself $1.5K-$1.8K, most small to medium audit firms will take you. This is how my fren got into one of the firms just hours he sent the resume. Apparently, he was called to attend the interview just bout 3 hrs after his resume was sent. |

You guys are discussing about the selling of Tj Pagar KTM by MY to SG.
Since MY lacks of $$$ currently, I would prefer if the PM Najib could sell an island/sand equivalent to the size of SG to SG. That would be win2 situation, MY gets the money whereas SG gets the land. Better still, sell 2 Johor's river to SG. |

QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Jul 17 2010, 11:48 AM) may i know what position in golden agri?... they are our competitors and also supplier at time... indonesian bosses Golden Agri is the world's 2nd largest palm oil producer, u mean your company is the 3rd largest palm oil producer which in return become our competitor?by comparing this two, i believe ga has more opportunity but capitaland is more stable with more benefits... it depends on which industry you are interested in... Can share which department or position are you in? Actually 2 companies also interests me and 2 companies offer the same salary to me too. This is why I need to consider which company provide better bonus, career progression, culture and so on. This post has been edited by Jurlique: Jul 17 2010, 11:58 AM |

QUOTE(alaskanbunny @ Jul 17 2010, 12:51 PM) heh? since when my company is the 3rd largest? Then apply for Golden Agri la.. We can become colleagues too..no no.. actually we are in the same industry... just that sometimes when short we supply to each other.. me?... business development and operations most of the time pao ka liao.. dont even have a proper title.. capitaland seems to be a good company.. but construction industry in singapore is small.. so they move overseas... i bet they are quite establish over the years revenue; sgd 3 bill g.profit; sgd 1 bill golden agri just got listed not too long ago i think... they own plantations and their bosses are very aggresive in business development.. probably u wont get so much benefits but salary and bonus might be good... revenue; usd 2.3 bill g.profit; usd 0.5 bill I heard the bonus they paid is about 4 mths. But until now still haven decided which company to go.. perhaps will go for Golden tho.. |

QUOTE(darkages @ Jul 19 2010, 10:20 PM) What is the cheapest and reliable method to transfer money back to Malaysia. TT via Maybank or OCBC is the best, last time I tried before but forgotten the charges.I found out that via Maybank SG TT is $15, which is the cheapest so far. But the draw back is that I have to have a MBB SG account. Otherwise, over the counter is $30, which is an exorbitant amount. Any other banks offering competitive rates? But why not money changer? (if you don't mind carrying few thousands in your bag as money changer rates are better then bank rates). Try Mustapha at China Town. (You might get the best rate in Singapore). |

QUOTE(seantang @ Jul 21 2010, 12:00 AM) Just noticed that there's no $2000 tax rebate this year (YA2010) when I received my tax assessment this afternoon. Damn! Small consolation is this year can pay using credit card via ibanking. At least get back some cashback, points or miles. I tot personal tax only paid once a year in around May/June whereby you shld have receive ur notice of assessment latest by early May.How come your assessment for YA2010 came so late? |

Ok, I got a question rite here.
Any chance that I want to apply for PR but I dont want to contribute CPF. Means I want a full pay. The employer portion I dont mind to go into CPF savings. I am asking this because I am not staying long here, perhaps just 5 years and I do not intend to acquire a HDB unit. I wanted to apply for PR because it makes job hops easier as PR is more easier to apply for jobs compare to non-PR. |

So I drove my car back to KL during the National Day.. and while in KL, I just found out that Gomen refuses to allow SG cars to pump petrol RON95..
Walan Eh, Gomen jealous izit? I wonder what the damn impact can be resulted from refusing foreign cars to pump Malaysia petrol. Those morons really use D1CKHEAD to think. |
