Oops sorry, did not see your last posting.  Is there a shortcut or something like that to get to JB?  Just curious, any amenities around Gelang Patah such as Jusco or Tesco?

yeah, i mean in gelang patah..

there is short cut... the Highway.. connected to the perling highway, that is the only short cut, 30 minutes to the JB.

Amenities, nearest will be Bukit Indah, about 10-15 minutes drive, Tesco, Jusco, Giant.. everything is there...

there is public transport to get around gelang patah to bukit indah or to jb or even TUTA.

If u dont mind driving around, just stay at GP recommended

this fellow everyday also recommend Gelang Patah.... make me also feeling like wanna shift there liao.... mayb after 3-4 years, i might consider moving there

Any chance that I want to apply for PR but I dont want to contribute CPF.

Means I want a full pay. The employer portion I dont mind to go into CPF savings.

I am asking this because I am not staying long here, perhaps just 5 years and I do not intend to acquire a HDB unit. I wanted to apply for PR because it makes job hops easier as PR is more easier to apply for jobs compare to non-PR.

Actually, only PRs from West Malaysia would be interested. All other PRs are allowed to fully withdraw their CPF monies if they give up their PR status.

You mean even if we from West Malaysia withdrew our PR, we will not be able to withdraw our CPF monies?  What about when we reach 55?

What I did last time was to carry load of cash.. unfortunately.  Just get ready 1 Month Deposit + First Month Rent + 1/2 Month Rent to Agent.  For example, if you room is SGD400, then bring along SGD1000.  Normally it's cash dealing as far as i know.

From my experience, if you like a place, and if you dont book it first, then someone else might come and grab it.  It's normally based on first come first serve basis.

Yeah I did give my EP photocopies to the agent so that they can help to submit the forms, etc for processses with the HDB.  Nevertheless I believe you might get your Pass a while longer if you just got a job in SG.

What is the price to get a room at Gelang Patah? My budge, I also don't know. I would like to compare and see whether worth or not. I estimate total time travel from Gelang Patah to NUH around 90 minutes for 1 way. 3 hours for 2 ways.

What is the bus stop name at Gelang Patah to get the CW bus? This is because I would like to compare the distance of the room from google map.
