Just want to ask another question about immigration stuffs... my passport will expire in 9 months time and I am planning to renew it sometime this week.  After the renewal do we need to inform MoM?  I am a EPass holder.

Hi. I'm new to here.
It seems that you are in the accounting line in Singapore. Wanna ask whether is Big4 SG hiring Malaysians too? How much does typical Malaysian stand a chance over there, say after getting an ACCA? Thanks.

Your EP is tied to a travel document ie. passport. If the particular passport that the EP is issued under is invalid (expired), then the EP is invalid until it is transferred to the new passport.

Even our REPs (Re-Entry Permits for PRs) are the same.

You actually don't have to get the passport physically stamped. The REP details will be referenced whenever the passport is keyed in or scanned.

What's the marginal benefit getting Iphone 4 with troubles still brewing on its technical specs? I prefer to apply the "wait and see" strategy before committing myself to buy.

Yes they do, in fact Malaysian stand a pretty fair chance in getting employed in one of the Big4s over here, be it in a fresh graduate position or experienced hire. However, one thing to note though, they do place quite a lot of emphasis on the candidate being a uni graduate.

On a side note, you most likely won't make it into their main intake for this year (July - Sept), but I think there will be a smaller intake around Dec, just keep a look out on the firms' recruitment website.

Checked with MoM and here is part of their response:

1) For holders of the Long Term Pass Card
To notify MOM Work Pass Division using the Request Form for Amendment of
Personal Particulars.

2) For holders of the laminated Disembarkation/Embarkation Card (Green
Card)
Employment Pass Holders transfer their Employment Pass endorsements to the
new travel document.
These documents must be submitted to MOM Work Pass Division for the
transfer:
- Disembarkation/Embarkation card (Green Card); and
- Employment Pass holder's old and new travel documents or passports

For more information, you may visit MOM?s website at:
http://www.mom.gov.sg/foreign-manpower/pas...traveldocchange

The old passport number will be written at the back page of your new passport.

but the scanning system can only scan first page of passport and match it with your EP. First scan sure fail then the officer have to do it manually or ask you to go office. Waste your time time.

Update us when you exit singapore again.

I renewed mine a last apr, they check my old passport when I first enter SG with the new passport and ask me to do online re-entry permit update before my next exit.
