from the 1st page hierachcy, it seems that mechanical watches are more expensive (higher range) than quartz right?

Not really, some quartz are more expensive than mechanical.

Not and expert but 6.5k for a quartz? No for me.
Regarding maintanance/service cost, you can check with RSC.

Go to a hospital, look at the nurses uniform closely. Notice those little watches pinned at their lapel? Those are nurses watch.

For nurses who need to constantly need to wash their hands, deal with human, a wrist watch is a health hazard. the metal clips may scratch patients, may entangle with bandages etc. And the wrist band will harbour nasty bacteria... That is why a wristwatch is a no no whilst on duty...

Is a classic sport watch, alongside Submariner in Rolex line up, and most important, demand > supply.
I like the white dial though.

Happy to have come across this thread, lots of useful information here.

I was planning to make the move in January from my ol' faithful G Shock (4 years of drops, knocks and weekly swimming) to a mechanical watch.

Coming here, I just realized that learning about this stuff is like learning a new bloody language !

Now probably have to postpone for at least 2 months, just so that I don't appear to be completely clueless when I go to the dealer shops. doh.gif

Anyways, thanks to the pros here for sharing ! notworthy.gif

Not sure about that but it holds it's value better than the Daytona with the in house Rolex movement.

In any event, the prices they were quoting for a Daytona in Malaysia & Singapore is obscene. 50% mark up etc. The only place I 've come across Daytona's sold at list price is Amsterdam. If you have any friends traveling there ask them to pick one up for you, preferably the black face SS version.

Sorry noob at selling online. Had a suggestion to quote price and provide pix and more details. Thought collectors will know their stuff.

Pix to follow.

Details: Model 116520 Rolex Daytona White, Steel
http://www.rolex.com/en#/rolex-watches/cos...el-m116520-0016

Cond : New, unworn. No link adjustments, plastic protectors intact.
Boxes, manual, warranty card and holder.

Warranty: Dated 16th Dec 2010.

Serial # : V 9--0008

Origin : Bought from authorised dealer in Europe. Genuine, not replica.

Asking price : RM35K

Reason to sell : Bought on impulse.

This is a hard to come by model as its normally snapped up by collectors who typically also pay a premium above listed price.
Thanks and Happy New Year.
