but a bit confused...why is this call poor man/affordable thread?

we also discuss about Omega, Subs, IWCs..also...

will the luxury thread be revived then?

QUOTE(netmatrix @ May 7 2010, 11:13 PM)
The title is not apt at all. When the watches are not affordable as a time telling machine. A poor man could do well reading time with just a RM99 CASIO. So whats gives with the "poor" in the title? You mean you like to accept that beggars do really earn a lot to finance homes and cars just with begging as a job? Since when poor means you could afford a RM1K watch?
*
cool down bro.....in watch world...the phrase `poor man's watch' is quite acceptable..and common.....its not degradation ..on the contrary....its a phrase to remind the majority of people that watch collecting hobby are not about the Rolex, VCs, APs...but watch collecting can be equally passionate when you're collecting Seikos, ORients or even Casios..

shouldnt help an MU fan but never mind...just this once...

Ball-always associated with good value for money. tough and variety of design. Some like their design, some dont. but generally price is lower compared to other more heavily advertised Swiss made

if I do get it, I'll sure to share it here.. right now I just can't decide..

as I like this nomos too, those are hard to come by. AD here didn't carry any HW with date. prices also high.. no discount sucks! must start looking at WUS for pre-own watch!
auto nomos Ludwig date @ US$2950
mechanical Ludwig without date US$1,780 with clear sapphire back or $1,550 with solid steel case-back

thats what I learnt too, just create 1 and email stowa directly to place the order. don't have to go thru the website.

Cheenoo order now and you may get watches by Sept 2010, else it maybe a long wait.

European VAT is always high. 16% is a norm.. I heard they do have Luxury tax, if u are buying branded stuff.
*
oh....so the Flieger Automatik without Logo will now be Euro 545 instead of Euro 630?

Yeah partryn33, agree with you it might sounded a bit like too fickle minded, but actually this is my first time buying an expensive watch and I didn't doo much research on this (plus I think the salesmen have did a tremendous job in convincing me into buying the watch).

Should have read around the forum and shop around more to find the perfect automatic watch for me. Anyway thank you very much for the info. I might put up an ad for the watch there.

Also if you can spread out to anybody who wanted to own an ORIS automatic watch at a cheaper price from retail maybe 200 - 300 ringgit cheaper, can PM me. As for the products, do not have to worry as it is still in the box, with warranty card, and brand new...

Thanks guys..
*
at least now you join the Watch Lover Flipper club....hope you got good price selling it...

if you are near singapore or can travel to Singapore, the Singapore rolex owners club is another exciting place to sell (loads of advertisement, activities, etc). Visit their website and go garage sale, under `Other Watches'. Only thing is most of those guys do COD, in Singapore itself.

Orient discounted Orient Star Royal... only Royal Orient now.
not sure about their line up in Asia. can't go wrong with a workhorse ETA 2824. don't have to worry about build quality here.
movement grade maybe better or equal to CW. but I am sure Doxa decorate their movement unlike CW.

they are famous of these kinda of diver watch the one your gf bought isn't what they are renown for. the cult in watchuseek etc are all about the below watches.
