Slight add on to this info. For HSBC somehow they do track your application with other banks.
If you apply 3 cards at the same time and one of them is HSBC ... HSBC auto throw your application to the trash can.
*
CCRIS report from BNM shows credit application as well.

Can we change from DA Platinum Mastercard to CIMB Petronas Platinum Mastercard easily ?

Does the 0.5% rebate for retail transactions credited at tend of the statement date ?
*
you need to cancel the DA first.

Can I apply for the CIMB Petronas Mastercard, then ask for DA Bonus Points to be transfereed to the CIMB Petronas Mastercard account ?
*
Nope. your application for CIMB Petronas will get rejected because you have the DA Card. That is what the CS told me when they reject my application. Anyway CIMB Petronas does not accrue points smile.gif

I was wrong ! This is so good. The rebate scheme is about the same as the Citibank Singapore dividend card. Too bad all other purchases only get 0.3% rebate  sad.gif    So basically, this card is good to use only in Malaysia as i am sure most other purchases most people made overseas are actually in the 0.3% rebate category.
I'm okay with this rule.
*
Agree. This can replace DA, RHB travel money, all those MBB/CIMB Petronas etc,

It's a close call between Alliance, Amex Gold CC and this. Justone of course still very much ahead lol. The let down is the 0.3% for other purchases...

It's confirmed Alliance charges higher than other bank!

Last week I again used my Alliance Visa Plat to settle my hotel bill in Abu Dhabi, while my colleague used his HSBC Premier MC to pay the hotel bill. We checked out and made the payment at the same time. When I checked my unbilled amount online a few days later, Alliance's figure was 0.9% higher than my friend's HSBC!
*
I would concur. Been doing some conversions using Oanda.com FX history as a benchmark. Alliance Bank seems to be consistently higher than a HSBC card I am comparing to. Of course the transaction dates in my case are different.

Thus it looks like we are paying for the cashbacks tongue.gif

The Alliance Bank credit looks to be relegated to local play only At least it is still one of the highest cash back cards for general purchases. (before the spate of offers from other banks...)

all credit and charfge cards are subjected to gov tax. The Eon bank Visa Signature shouldn't be any different.

i didn't settle min payment for 3 months for my both cards. I am in Singapore now. I will pay all the 3 months min payment 1 shot next month. will the bank blacklist me for not settling min payment for 3 months?
*
Likely yes. Best to use internet banking to settle it. Also paying only minimum payment is the road to debts...

How do we know for sure which one ? Is there a list ? The Store can ?
*
QUOTE(David83 @ Jul 4 2010, 05:20 PM)
Please read/refer to this PDF document for the list.
*
get the pdf here.

It is a bit old tho but should suffice. General rule is if the hypermarket accepts Amex, you should get the points.

Gosh! PBB is throwing $$$. You should inform me earlier.

The maximum cash back for overseas transactions during the promotion period is RM200 upon a cumulative spending of RM500, which is up to 40% cash back!
*
can you share the link to the promotion? Can't find it on the website

I know DA can be cancelled through phone and the CS didn't specifically request to surrender the card to nearest branch. That's why I wanted to confirm if it's the same for MBB.
*
Careful though. My DA which I cancelled in Feb (and surrendered to CIMB) was still active in May. Saw it updating in cimbclicks so complained.

Since his family is privileged, just contact the bank & relationship manager issuing the supplementary card to give your friend a principal card. I am sure with his background, the bank knows his family by name.

OCBC Titanium MasterCard offer quite good rebate, 5% off on dining, grocery, bills and petrol, and 1% on other spending.

The card is interesting. Certainly can rival JustOne.
