Getting Started

|
If this car price is over 100K mark, then Hyundai can just forget about it to get good sales in Malaysia. Just for the Hyundai Sonata alone, the price is too close to the Camry and Accord price, so people will surely consider the Japanese rather than Korean. Not to mention the Nissan is launching the Teana this month, I think Hyundai really need to reduce the price if really want to grab sales from Japanese car maker.

If the Avante is priced above RM90K, its already on the loosing side.

Most likely the price for 2.0L would be the same or slightly lower and much lower for 1.6L variant. Hyundai have this special trade in discount where RM3,000 further discount will be given on top of the trade in value.

My guess is the 2.0l will be 115k and the 1.6l will be 95k because its CBU but again it depends on what kind of specs they are giving us.

RM 115K for a 2.0L will kill off its sales even before its launch. Dont forget the Forte is only priced less than RM94K and its full of specs. Plus next year the 6 speed Forte will grace our shores.

Hyundai always makes this mistake. They did it to the Sonata and if they do it again to the Avante next year then they're doomed for sure.

Avante is suppose to be up against Civic and Altis. I forsee it will be priced 10k+ lower than the competition. Same strategy for the Sonata.
Regarding Forte pricing. To be honest I am also surprised. I am sure Naza has done some magic which I doubt SD can do (or even bother to do). Kudos to Naza for pricing Forte competitively.

Well, if they do that with the Avante then its doomed the same way the Sonata is doomed currently.

With the hybrid getting tax free, insight is a very tempting option now too!!!

QUOTE(shamsul_LP @ Nov 18 2010, 01:17 PM) comparison in the net show that sonata pawn both camry & accord...but i forgot...this is malaysia...only T & H in our people mind Blame that on the Koreans poor quality and after sales service record in the past. Change of mindset wont happen overnight. Hyundai & Kia have to work hard and ensure all their cars are competitively priced. Kia has done that with the Forte and they are seeing some success. Hyundai is still holding on to their pricing. Sonata's pricing was a mistake. Hope they dont repeat the same mistake with the Avante.

I am waiting for Avante 2011. Pay a visit to KLIM at PWTC from 3-12 December and get a glimpse of the new Avante. No comment on the performance and pricing yet.

If they price this anything above RM 100k,it will not sell at all.And mind you its CBU so I am expecting this to be above RM 100k.
Furthermore, they wont have a 2.0L engine. They will only have a 1.8L model. So considering the fact that Inspira which has Jap DNA is priced so cheap, they definately have to price their 1.8 model below RM 90k to have any impact on the market.
If not they can forget about taking even a bit of sales from T & H
