I think the price should be on par as the forte..

maybe can get that price if they slap the "i" badge on the car..(CKD)

For time being, the pricing for the new avante in malaysia, maybe we can calculate based on these which i found from Hyundai US website





Comparison of Malaysia prices...

Ford Fiesta 1.6L Sedan LX Ti-VCT = RM78,888 (otr)

Chevrolet Cruze 1.8L = RM97,888 (otr)

Abit confused because there are so many models in US while local models are different.
Anyone can roughly calculate Avante 2011 price in malaysia based on the given chart above?

But we all know sure when it come to malaysia, it will be different one. Some feature will be pull-out (eg. heated seat, navigation monitor etc) BUT the price will be remain or much more expensive compare to Premium model in US. RM100k??

Hopefully anyone can digest the chart, at least we know when it come to m'sia, will it be a good price or expensive one...

erm its around 5.1 - 5.2 times so

elantra at USD20k x 5 = RM100k++

From the info i got, the price is definitely below RM100k but won't be as cheap as the Forte.

99,999 also below 100k...

Anyway, from the info you got, did they mention how much the basic car starts at?

I think the standard models would be RM90k... but when i look at Chevrolet Cruze (also 1.8L) price in US, it almost the same... meaning if the Cruze selling price is RM97K++, meaning the price the avante is almost there... but stil, i felt that this is the premium model price for avante.

If compare to current model of avante 2.0L, the price is RM94K...

Surely it wont be as cheap as the Forte la. The Avante comes with a 6 speed gearbox. Even the upcoming Forte facelift with the 6 speed gb will surely cost a few thousand more.

Still not finalized as the RHD models specs are still not finalized, but the estimate price of the 1.6 Avante is the same as Forte 2.0

90K+ for a 1.6L model??? That will kill the Avante sales in Malaysia for sure.

M'sia won't be running the same engine as in Korea which is 1.6L. Most probably will same with US which is 'Nu' 1.8L engine.

Hopefully it will around RM85K for standard spec...

This 148 hp/178 Nm 1.8 is a smaller, lighter and more frugal replacement for the 2.0L Beta engine used in the previous gen car. It has Dual CVVT, two-stage Variable Intake System (VIS) and runs on a timing chain. Hyundai will also use double-pipe plumbing for the Nu engine to improve cooling, which means they can get away with using a smaller compressor, which aids fuel consumption.

The other engine is a 1.6L Gamma and the gearbox for both is Hyundai’s in-house 6-speed auto. It’s not decided yet if we will get Gamma, Nu or both engines although the bigger mill will be needed to impress the capacity obsessed regular Malaysian carbuyer."

Maybe price wasnt updated.

But anyway the price for new Avante should be lesser than RM95K for 1.8L

If compare to forte 2.0L model which is selling RM93k OTR, i think the new Avante with 1.8L model is around that figure too, even the highest specs also should be lesser than RM95k as what ctchua85 said.

The overall body dimension is exactly the same with Forte except for the overall height, slightly lower by 30mm, inside is more spacious than forte and some of the reknown segment-b cars.

nice car , but seem like no smart parking system for US version also

After viewing the car 1st hand at KLIMS today i must say that i am really impressed. The interior and exterior is really cool and futuristic plus ample boot space. Really impressive. The rear legroom is comparable to the Hyundai Sonata and Nissan Teana despite both those cars being in a different category. If Hyundai can maintain the specs and keep the pricing competitive then this car will surely do well like the Forte or maybe even better.

Do they release the pricing for avante?
