QUOTE(cybermaster98 @ Dec 4 2010, 09:52 PM) After viewing the car 1st hand at KLIMS today i must say that i am really impressed. The interior and exterior is really cool and futuristic plus ample boot space. Really impressive. The rear legroom is comparable to the Hyundai Sonata and Nissan Teana despite both those cars being in a different category. If Hyundai can maintain the specs and keep the pricing competitive then this car will surely do well like the Forte or maybe even better. Was at KLIMS too but the area where da car was parked was off limit to vistors unless u r one of the exhibitors there whom were able to get in there to feel the car? Perhaps some photo of the sample unit would be suffice? |

Yesterday we could touch and inspect every component of the car. |

Yesterday we could touch and inspect every component of the car. I was there just now. Initially , no one dare to enter the area coz the model was standing there and everyone busy looking at her and taking photograph. Suddenly one kuai lo go enter the car. After that everyone also follow him and open the door and look at the interior. The driver seat adjuster is using the push button type which looks very high class. The other car i saw with this feature there was the Lexus IS250. Don't know if other same class car has the same.Agree that the rear passenger leg room is quite spacious. |

The models there are nothing to shout about. Pretty average girls. Yes the features are quite impressive for just a 1.6L car. Not sure which specs will actually reach Malaysian shores. but yes the rear legroom and boot was the talking point of many ppl.Agree that the rear passenger leg room is quite spacious. |

QUOTE(stereokumonomu @ Dec 5 2010, 07:53 AM) if the elantra is comparable to forte, does this means its in the same segment as the civic or camry? Forte & Avante are consider as mid-size car while civic is a compact car. Official announced Avante has more total interior volume that compact such as civic and corolla.Jus sharing some of the pics i found : |

Third quarter 2011?
Sound a bit late there.. If this avante price at 94k, I rather opt insight at98k including insurans.. If first quarter 2011, with 90k or lesser.. It would be a good buy.. |

QUOTE(keeting89 @ Dec 6 2010, 12:19 PM) Third quarter 2011? Insight??? Common la. These 2 cars are in different segments and targets a totally different group of buyers la. How can u compare a 1.3L with a 1.8L? At least compare 1.5L to 1.8L also not too bad. Ure expecting 90K or lesser for a 1.8L with 6 speed gearbox, interior space as much as the new Sonata plus all those specs? Dream la. Sound a bit late there.. If this avante price at 94k, I rather opt insight at98k including insurans.. If first quarter 2011, with 90k or lesser.. It would be a good buy.. Besides, i checked out the Insight at KLIMS, and was really disappointed with the cheap plastics all around. Paying RM98K for a 1.3L Hybrid of that size is crazy. I would rather pay that much for a 1.3L Civic Hybrid. Anyway, i think 2011 is not the year for us to venture into hybrids yet. Hybrids did well overseas and in cooler climates. But in Malaysia, it is still very new. With Proton due to launch its Hybrids in 2012, i wouldnt dare buy any of the current Hybrids at the current pricing. The Avante is surely a class above most of the current cars in that segment namely the Forte, Altis and Civic. This post has been edited by cybermaster98: Dec 6 2010, 01:08 PM |

Seriously if Mr. cybermaster98 has good things to say of this car (looks/specs wise since we have not tested it yet on our shores) it must be worthy of a visit. Actually the only reason I want to go to KLIMS is to see that car in metal. Screw the models and other cars. Hehe. Maybe take a peek at the Sante Fe and Honda Insight too. |

Yes the same reason why i went to KLIMS too. Look at the Kia Optima too. Very nice too. Santa Fe and Insight not impressive in my opinion. |
