I also down sized my router of choice to

"NETGEAR WNDR3700" with dd-wrt laugh.gif (supports dd-wrt, good all round performance, however maximum simultaneous connections limited to 4,096 compared to the EnGenius whooping 19,721)

Or maybe the EnGenius ESR-9850 hm ... hmm.gif (very good performance especially the 19,721 connections. However no DD-WRT support yet, and wireless coverage/speed is questionable)

Thank you for your effort.

Hmm, are you saying that it is possible we can totally replace the DIR-615 with another router to plug in to the BTU unit and enjoy the internet (assuming that we dont wan to IPTV)?

you cant use the box as a router as its merely a terminal to the router and phone line service.

That's applicable for landed house I believe. Me for high rise building, they gave Vdsl modem but they locked the function n jz make it as a bridge, still DIR615 as the PPPOE dialer. I managed to gain access this Vdsl and it's full fledged modem with tagging.

Prices overseas may be much better if your bother to google for a bargain (i gave up) :/ but if not you can order from here.

To be honest they seem quite pricey and i haven't quite figured which one is better :/

OMG, I managed to connect to the internet directly to VDSL modem provided by TMnet, I may throw DIR615 already.

Default Setting by TMNET to my Condo :

(a) VDSL Modem (Locked by TMnet as a Bridge) --> Dlink DIR615 (as PPPOE Dialer) --> 1) IPTV & 2) Internet

Now, after I gained access to their VDSL modem, I can opt either of these two settings :

(1) VDSL Modem (PPPOE Dialer) --> PC directly

(2) VDSL Modem (Bridge) --> MY OWN WIRELESS ROUTER (PPPOE) --> Internet

OBSERVATION : TMNET purposely locked their devices and force end-user to use their DIR615 router for monitoring reason as highlighted by Rizvanrp.

F*** Tmnet. Very Sick GLC.

BTW, I really wanna thank RIZVANrp, I use the same method Rizvan did for my Cisco RVS4000 by setting "TRUNK" in VLAN Setting of the VDSL Modem which they/TMnet locked in default.

Radius do i still need a vlan router to separate the iptv, iphone and normal internet ???

I'm hanging between the WNDR3700 (probably can do vlan tagging with dd-wrt) and the ESR9850 (can't do vlan tagging for ethernet as far i know).

Can let me know asap notworthy.gif

Are you in High rise building or Landed Property?. If High rise building much easier, we can unlock their setting in VDSL Modem. If Landed Property, I believe they provide BTU unit which you can only can access thru DIR615 secondary admin password as what Rizvanrp did.
