Well we have the technology now. According to wiki fiber cable can transfer up to 2.5Gbps. So with fiber to the home we have 1 less thing to worry in future.

If I understand correctly, keeping current number meaning still having to pay an additional RM25 for the fixed line rental fee right (should I choose to keep the copper line)? Also, if it isn't using the traditional phone line port anymore then I think my house alarm system wouldn't be able to connect to the phone since it connects to the traditional port.

IMO keep your copper line and just ignore this new number. because this phone wont work if you switch off the modem (no phone calls coming in if no electricity), wheres you old copper line works without electric.

normally them come and install within how many days ? smile.gif
*
i apply last wednesday, they installed this monday.

I was reading stuff about fiber-to-the-home tech, and saw that other country that use this tech at least deliver 100Mbps and above, some even 1Gbps. But TM only max 20Mbps doh.gif

Anyway, getting back on track. Having my dir-615 replaced then writing a guide on how to get it working with your own hardware smile.gif It'll be up in a few days I guess
*
have you tried to connect to the fiberhome box? from what i guess it is possible to use that box itself as a router.

who knows there is another security hole there rclxub.gif
