so yesterday i decided to buy a cheap light from mr diy just to leave near my house keys in case of black out etc...for a grand total of RM9.30 as they have a 50% promotion...
this is a typical china light that mr diy has rebranded and u can find similar ones in the market under different names just by searching 7102b...just probably not as cheap.
Attached Image

pictured beside one of my soda can lights the manker mk41...so yea as stated on the package its more of an emergency light to leave at home / camping etc...tho the light is a very cool white so not that ideal for camping.
Attached Image

due to its price everything about it is plastic, even the lens.
as for the beam pattern...there is some spill so u can still walk around at home in darkness...tho it would be better to use the twin tubes for that.
the torch lumens wise to my naked eye is somewhere around 200-300 lumens...
but guess due to it having a bigger reflector, along with a very tight hotspot about as wide as the lens...the throw is surprisingly almost as far as the manker mk41 which has a rated throw of around 400m with 4xAA at 1280 lumens...easily lighting up something up to 100m away looking like u are holding a very long light saber tongue.gif
Attached Image

anyway i mainly got it for it having the 2 tubes...and this does very well to light up a room or a toilet easily...giving out at least 100 lumens here...
u can also have the option to use just 1 of 2 tubes to save on battery life...which is stated up to 1.5 hours i guess at maximum output.
it also has a retractable hook on top so u can hang it on whatever.
Attached Image

now for the main drawbacks of this light...
apart from its plastic lens...
it obviously has a 1300mah built-in battery...but due to a 0.12A input...the charging time is 10 friggin hours...
also they recommend the battery to be re-charged every 3 months just to prevent battery degradation.
but heck, for rm9.30...i can live with all that...

if you wanna mod, swap the internal charger with a proper 1A usb charger module lmao.
I bet it's some 18650 inside so adding wire as to piggyback your new charger would made things more practical. innocent.gif

Meanwhile I downgraded my driver on the Astrolux s41 to a regulated biscotti 8*AMC7135
No more burning copper to me but brightness seems comparable. Pretty sure it's brighter when it's 12 amps vs 2.8 amps now but at least the modes are more practical to me rolleyes.gif

mana ada sifu. Just solder n driver swap only
Those sifu in BLF reprogram and stack chips like gila. I tried but can never get good results.
Some even next level swap LED the moment they get them

But then again this light classic d, all go with Emisar D4

i think its not a 18650...or something's wrong with the circuit...
even after more than 12hrs of charging...the charging led doesnt show full charge...
so maybe its purposely a trickle charge so as not to explode hahah...damn china tongue.gif

Olight sent some of their models for review and testing... this is one of them... so far, this Seeker2 has checked a few positive points for me compare to Seeker2Pro.

the one big box it ticked for me is... price icon_rolleyes.gif
the runtimes are pretty impressive also nod.gif

perhaps olight should release the seeker2pro without the mounting gimmick to reduce the price (probably not by much, but still a saving nonetheless)?

in my not so humble opinion, seeker 2 is a better model than seeker 2 pro.
