Dannie is calling you now on how to use the SC memorize mode. Actually it's not much of memorize but just how you on it i.e. press & hold for low mode or press & letgo for the high mode

Once I've removed the TK10's head, can I just "cut" or polish away the emitter's burnt resin?.
(Just like susuman's P3D Post #32525838·) or better to get a new Q5 from Dealextreme?

Is it difficult to remove and solder a new Q5 emitter to TK10 ? Newbie....

What about the emitter size? ( 16mm Base Dealextreme sku.11022 or 14mm sku.11023 ) ?

I've been using my TK10 for more than 2 years with no problem at all. The heat sinking is excellent. I use 2 AW RCR123.

I use Trustfire and Ultrafire 3.6V CR123A on my P3D also for more than 2 yrs too...no issues, just need to be more careful with my newer Soshine 700mA 3.7V RCR123(A) sku.13811, my bad...

Yea, told danny i figured it out. It'll be hard to explain here, but I guess you guys would have figured it out too what I actually meant.

The soshine 3.7v has the same voltage as the AW RCR123 LightJunk used. Not sure then what might happened, could have ran it on turbo too long instead?


Regarding your LED, you can push away the burnt stuff of your LED. I think it'll still light up But I would get a new emitter and change. Desolder the old ones, and solder back in the new one, but you need a thermal compound to go under it.

I didn't mean to blame it on the battery you use. It could be the light itself . I sometimes leave it on turbo mode for more than 10 minutes or even until the battery goes flat. I really trash that light to max. I guess I got the good batch. Mine is from Singapore bought from CEJ or CJAE forget who it was. EDIT: It's cateyej.

Noted with thanks, will experiment by trying to remove the head and burnt spot before trying trying with a new emitter.

Putting in a new emitter would be nice. XP-G R5 or just an R2. But you will need to use 18650 or 17670 cell if direct driven.

I also quite often trash my Nitecore NEX R2 in high mode till the battery protection kicks in or goes flat. So far so good.

From what I can see from these reading is: luck.

You guys getting the good batch. I ran 2xRCR123 too (the P3D), it was ok all the time, until 1 day I tried to run in turbo for sort of run-time test. Unfortunately something turned up need my attention, I was not noticing the light heated up too much, and it seems dim when I realised it. It was hot to the touch, and the burnt mark was the result. I think I run for 20 mins in turbo, without cooling fan or water, just put on the table.

So for best safety precaution, do not run in turbo too long for Fenix designed for primaries.
