Hi guys, just installed byond, and i have a question. I have a few HD TV, the one connected to the decoder of coz very clear, coz using hdmi cable. But, is it possible to make other tv also playing hd quality? coz when i use other tv, i only can watch standard quality.
*
What are you talking bout? If you multiple HDTV , why on main you can watch in HD qua, and the other one you can watch on SD? . By right both should visualize HD quality.

Please rephrase your query. Kinda of confusing.. rclxub.gif

of cause it is possible, just get yourself a HDMI splitter, make sure it has its own power supply, it can then replicate byond box's HD signal to multiple HDTV, all showing in HD resolution drool.gif

Bro..another thing probably u got wrong or I'm the one who doesnt understand u
The HD channels are in correct HD ratio..
The zoom/stretch debate only affected SD channels..
HD channel are still in HD ratio..no worries there mate..

Another thing is if u havent heard any response from Astro regarding ur application, its better to call and apply..
Online application takes a while and sometimes wont event have any effect..
Call straight to Astro n within 24 hours u should get a reply..
Installation will proceed in the next2-5days period
*
Yes, I do know HD will display in 16:9 aspect nicely without any zoom / stretch.
I'm referring to those SD channels where I'm hoping can setup some kind of "zoom" as default on those SD channels so I don't have to use TV remote control to select "Cinama1" mode on my Redza LCD each time I switch between HD & SD channel.
Lazy people like me will say this is inconvenient lo.... tongue.gif

Actually I saw this post and just submit my application to cam40729:
http://forum.lowyat.net/topic/1358615

He told me need about 5 working days to submit & confirm by Astro, still waiting for him to tell me when to install .....

I saw this Byond decoder from internet, I have some questions:

1. What's the main usage for the LAN port ? For output or future input purpose?

2. Can we use HDMI, Components & Composite output concurrently ?

3. If I already use the Red/White audio, can I still use the Digital output ?

Attached Image

May I know what's the 2 buttons function (in circle)?
The right one seem to be screen zoom/stretch option is it ?

Sorry, too excited and just want to know more in advance, appreciate some user to explain further. biggrin.gif

You still can use Components & Composite cable for SD tele and HDMI for HD tele

The zoom feature is really meant for watching 4:3 letter boxed programmes on a 16:9 screen, you get full frame picture and correct aspect ratio.

use it on a full frame SD channel and it will cut the top and bottom off the picture.

Anyway new plasma's have better burn in prevention technology. I wouldn't worry about it, just watch it in pillar box.
*
And how many SD channels broadcast letterboxed?

Also, I prefer LCD. Uses less power.

Repeated contents is not their problem, it's the content providers. The problem can be circumvented if Asstro adds more channels. Problem is, they're adding new channels too slowly, and when they do add a channel all it shows are the same exact repeats as other channels (latest case of point: TVB Classic Drama. If half of the stuff wasn't on Wah Loi Toi before, it was on Xing He or RTM...)

hi vivre,

this is what i'm doing :
1. went to my apartment management and asked them to produce letter of permission for byond dish installation.
2. once they produce it, you can fill up the form in astro web site for byond application and at the same time the letter to astro
3. once u did it, call astro call center for confirmation of letter faxed

this may take a few days but if you always update by call them, your application will be given prioritized.

Dude, hows your configuration looks like? I mean, are you using the centralized dish now? or standalone dish?
my problem now is they did not want to allow standalone dish outside the block, I am so mad! mad.gif

it's not a channel thing it's a show by show thing hence why make it switchable from the remote rather then set as default.
