It's receiving signal from M3a and M3. A dish can receive signal from any satellite its the decoder that prevents you watching it. M3 satellite locationM3a satellite location

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Mar 29 2010, 09:48 PM) What happen if my B.yond don't have signal on sunny daylight? Should i called the installer guy to adjust dish alignment? Or, should i do this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rC5wu49VLRgCall an installer because you wouldn't ask that question if you actually had that device now would you? Oh and by the way the decoder works when its dark night too.

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Mar 30 2010, 09:55 AM) Yet another TVB old shows channel. Hey Justin, can you ask Astro to do us a favor? Ask them to stop being hypocrites? You claim all BBC channels shows are old shows (which is a lie, the Dr. Who on BBCE is always the latest season, and Humf was only launched a few months ago and immediately picked up by CBeebies, making it bleeding edge) and that they're tired of it, and yet they bring in another old TVB shows channel. Despite the fact that you already have almost two dozen AOD/ABO channels that sometimes shows that, and a TVB channel that always shows that. And TV2, TV3, NTV7 and 8TV also shows old TVB shows as well. In other words, we have enough old TVB shows channels. You are one agreesive son of a gun aren't you! Lets not confuse my personal opinion of the channel with Astro's decision to remove it. As you fully know I have no knowledge of the reason why it was removed.

Discovery HD is not launching on the 1st of April on Astro.
As rightly spotted by several posters here this was a scheduled promo by Discovery on their channels & should not have been scheduled to the regional feeds. It's not just Malaysia that would have seen that spot & isn't getting it.
When new HD channels come to Astro there will be official announcements.

Yeah I know, me too. I'm sure you appreciate that we can't just open a channel cause it's there, deals need to be done and contracts signed etc.

QUOTE(Boy96 @ Mar 31 2010, 05:17 PM) i thought the 3d tv will put out 3d on normal HD content by just pressing a button? no? NO, There are at least 3 different 3D technologies around at the moment and 2 of them can be done on a standard def TV. Basically there is no standard for HD 3DTV at the momnet and without a standard how can there be production of content as almost always it has to start right done out the standard of the camera. I would be very careful about buying any 3D TV's at the moment and I would not be expecting TV broadcasters to lead the way either. Gaming consoles will be the biggest winner out of 3D. Do not buy a 3D TV thinking that it will magically tranform normal or even HD broadcast into a 3D picture.

Samsung are giving you very misleading information impling that the Astro broadcast is like that at sky in the UK. From the marketing thing you showed before what they have is some technolgy to simulate probably an anaglyth 3d which is based on having motion in the picture with defind foreground and background. The effect is of layers & looks pretty boring and only works on certain camera angles. Still I'd like to see what they have to offer

QUOTE(writesimply @ Apr 1 2010, 12:04 PM) 1920x1080p60Hz. What do you think? I think you have misunderstood my point. Samsung are telling their customers that if they use B.yond they will be able to get some magical thing call "Full colour, Full HD 3D" and that is not true. "Full HD" means 1080p, b.yond goes up to 1080i "Full Colour Full HD 3D" is marketing talk and means nothing at all. There is no common understanding of what 3D spec is considered "Full colour full HD 3D" It can only possible be talking about using a bluray and a 3D bluray disk viewed on their TV. Most definately can not be quoted against a comment about plugging b.yond into it.

that would be true if TV was only available over satellite but since it is not and there are lots of other players in the market including the web itself it is a mis-directed comment.

QUOTE(RAMChYLD @ Apr 2 2010, 03:53 PM) Right, web. Nick UK videos: You cannot watch this video because you're outside the UK iPlayer: You cannot watch this video because you're outside the UK Nick US videos: You cannot watch this video because you're outside the US Hulu: You cannot watch this video because you're outside the US Disney: You cannot watch this video because you're outside the US Youtube: You cannot watch this video because you're outside the US/UK Using a VPN: I've never achieved a speed that videos will just play naturally when viewing content through VPN. Plus, Hulu and many other providers are wising up and blocking VPN now. What has this got to do with the topic? I'm saying the space is there to be exploited by any player that wants too. Astro is not preventing a local player from doing anything on the web.

QUOTE(Qash-M @ Apr 2 2010, 04:40 PM) I wouldn't mind if other satellite company other than Astro opens up for competition. One satellite is not enough... it is not likely to happen due to the massive cost involved. I think the future will be IPTV operators

QUOTE(dxjb @ Apr 2 2010, 07:07 PM) Yeah..I fancy starting one..how much? 3kg RM10 can ar boss? Anyways..can anyone tell me if SKY UK broadcasts outside the UK? I mean are there any satellite TV provider outside the UK that carries SKY channels? I love SKY's channels especially all their Sports channel and production.. They are tops in producing sport content.. But cant see Astro taking them in..if they even bought in SKY News and Sky Sports News I would be happy.. if you have a paying address in the UK then effectively you can take the decoder & dish anywhere inside the foot print of the satellite signal.
